I agree completely - dragons are currently OP with all kinds of cheap attacks. Especially Twintania and Nidhogg.
I'd say Dragoon are a bit too much "plug and play" and effective for the amount of effort required to play them. (Pretty much like same).
I rarely see MNK yet the amount of time a MNK destroyed me from 100 to 0 in a few seconds...
Can't say many DRG have done the same.
However, the LB is hard to see sometime. Perhaps a thicker ring would help noticing when they jump. Everyone cries that the jump is OP but it mostly is because no one ever notice it and guard or dash out.
It is strong but when you actually notice it you have some time to adjust.
Dragoons aren't really the issue when you have Samurai which can do an AoE root for 3 seconds and single target stun for 2 while having stupid high damage output plus a limit break that can 1 shot people at full hp through their guard.
Then there's ninja which have a total of a 4 seconds of stun in duration that can be more of a pain to deal with.
Dragoon on the other hand has to have hard hitting attacks to make up for the lack of stuns, roots and silence since they only have damaging attacking unlike the other 4 melee which has shields, stuns, roots, slows so on and so forth
Nah, we need WHM nerfs in an emergency hotfix tbh. Uninteractable polymorph AND a bugged LB building method that lets them laser 6 times in one match is actually unacceptable.
did you try sam before say fake info? no because here i'm wondering...
sam are not the only one to have an aoe root smn want to talk to you and for use this aoe root you need to use one of your charge. 2 sec stun... we talk of the warrior that can stun in zone? high damage output... midare need to use meikyo a skill for purify for use and ogi damage are divided by the number of target hit. the damage can be either strong or ridicule.
and the one shoot mechanic need you to hit the sam in a 5 sec windows of a 30 sec cd and need the sam to use lb in the 3 sec you did hit him in this windows... seriously... if with all of this it can't get a os...

DRG LB is not OS, it's powerful against unaware enemies but then again all LBs are, aren't they?

Stop stacking under the crystal, it's not that hard not to be an AOE magnet.
It's by far the easiest class to play, has a shield, has a 50% damage reduce debuff, has an untargetable ulti that hits for 30k aoe, has a natural combo that hits for 38k minimum in 2,5 seconds all that while having a good amount of health, an escape, all attacks are instant and they have an aoe distance execute.

Their AoE damage, HP scaling damage and Horrid Roar might be in need of a small nerf but other than that their kit is fine. A great DRG certainly isn't as game-changing as a great SAM or NIN simply because they lack cc.
You keep defending SAM with your obvious bias in every thread that so much as mentions the job having balance issues.Also, what is your last argument even trying to be? It's super easy for a SAM to trigger Kuzushi considering how many jobs have AoEs as part of their regular kit.
- Yes, SAM isn't the only job with a root or a stun (and Mineuchi lasts for 3 seconds btw, not 2), but it is the only job with a root AND a stun.
- You don't need to use "a skill for purify" to use Midare. It seems to me like you don't understand what Meikyo Shisui actually does - it doesn't remove cc, it makes you almost completely immune to it for 3 seconds. So yeah, that's kinda a light version of the old Fetter Ward because why not?
- Ogi also doesn't get divided be the number of targets hit, what are you even talking about? It either deals 12k against single targets or 8k AoE, regardless of how many targets you hit after the second, same as Kaeshi. And that's not even mentioning the shield you get when using it against multiple targets.
DRG LB does need a nerf but only in the sense that the tell should be more obvious and easier to pick out when standing on the crystal in particular.
1 shot? what are you talking about, LB? it does 30k damage, if you have 100%hp its nowhere close to one shot anyone lol

Untargetable? with how server tics work in this game nothing is untargetable in pvp.
What I don't get is how people are failing to predict the DRG will LB if you run in clustered. Of course they are going to when you position like that. I don't need to see a marker to know I shouldn't be one of the fish in the barrel, regardless if the LBs are even ready or not. Making the marker light up like christmas tree is just a ridiculous ask, you won't even be able hit a single person without a CC assist.
No, they need a nerf to Horrid Roar's damage mitigation (50% is too much). That is non-negotiable.
Primal Rend says hi. Mountain Buster says hi. People caught in the moment and unable to keep track of their surroundings say hi. People who are stacked around the one person preventing the crystal from being moved say hi. There is a LOT of easy ways to catch people off guard and guarantee the hit. A bigger indicator will change nothing.
No. DRG doesn't have any CC, all other melees have CC and mitigation and more importantly Geirskogul gives DRG a 25% damage received debuff, so most of the time the reduction is 25%.
Chiten is 5s 50% with counter + 3s 25% damage debuff to enemy in the same button press.
Not about Dragoon specifically, but it boggles my mind that I've seen people in this forum who are PERFECTLY FINE with some jobs being capable of effortlessly wiping or stunlocking entire teams on their own (in a PvP system that has no role restrictions and might as well match 7 SAMs to one-shot everybody) under the pretense that "being OP is fun" or something. Yeah, fun to anyone who isn't being stunlocked to death by 7 White Mages through no fault of their own. WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?

NIN is a high skill expression job but ultimately the best melee in the game when played at the top level.
I think the problem we have is they were so scared of having a Ranged Meta they overcooked the kits for melee and gave ranged....very little.
BRD for instance now that there's 3 melees on every team.....just runs, they can't do anything else unless they have someone babysit them because it takes so long for them to get a clean shot off because someone thought balancing them for frontlines over CC was a priority, in CC they just die.
i dont think its necessarily bad to have certain jobs be better in frontlines vs CC. that said i dont really know it bard is actually good in FL because i dont play that mode.
i agree btw, that melee are too strong in CC compared to everything else, and ranged need a bone thrown.
Its bad that in CC has a ranked and FL does not. And you may not think adventurer plates are a reward but some of us do. I want that diamond plate. The entire balancing needs to be done for CC, FL is a silly sidemode at this point that could never be balanced or taken seriously just by the sheer volumes of players present.
Yeah, and Warrior infinite CC... And WHM unpurifiable CC + LB... And MCH lucky one shot... And NIN's burst... And SGE's damage... And SCH survivability... And RDM damage + utility...
You know, come to think of it, I think the mode isn't balanced at all now.
It does not one-shot this is true. However, any good dragoon does life of the dragon before they leap up so they do 37.5k(which is very strong) aoe not 30k to really get value out of it. My issue is more the fact they get a shield when they land for protection as well. Then again I seen whm imp dragoon before they even hit the ground and deny the full limit break so I think whm is more of an issue than dragoon to be honest.
