Covid didn't kill me, but it killed Endsinger EX.

Seriously, I had an easier time staying awake in the navel. I don't know what's more pathethic, the fact that there's no phase 2 or that this is intermediate relativity for all the kiddies still in daycare. Look at the previous boss extremes. They were actual hard versions of the fights with new tidbits of lore and interesting mechanics. Instead we got this steaming pile of [devs read forums so i cant be mean :c]. Perhaps all the budget went to the visuals and the team buying their own y'shtola dolls? We should have convinced sqenix that the earth was flat. Maybe then they would have spent more time actually designing a fight instead of a pretty planet that crashes into my dps players.

Was a fun fight to work out, and as much as I loved Hades having all those transitions of just sitting around picking at my belly button, yeah, I prefer no extra phases over it. Fair cop it isn't hard, but EX fights normally aren't, they are meant to be a tiering rung for people of varying skill levels. Zodiark still my favourite, but I had fun in Esinger.

When I saw the normal version, I was worried the EX version would keep the extra length cutscene. I'm glad that isn't there, at the very least. Difficulty wise, it feels about right for an extreme, though it requires a lot of memorization for sure.

I was really expecting more...spectacle from the EX of the boss that's not just the endboss of an expansion but of an entire story arc and at least one new phase; especially because they explicitly stated the fight would have "several" phases in one of the pre-6.1 interviews, though maybe that was a mistranslation of "mechanics".

Thordan's twist was having the original end of the fight just be the beginning, Shinryu had its ground phase, and Hades EX had a drastically different add phase and burn phase, so I was expecting something similar here.

The two totems don't feel warranted when there's no significant periods of downtime compared to Hades EX or Diamond Weapon and while I certainly don't lament a faster mount/weapon grind, it made me think there was going to be more then there actually was.

Endsinger Ex is one of the better extreme primals they've dropped in years.

also lmao at "hard fights", the last hard Extreme trial they dropped was Thordan Extreme.

anyway, these are fights we're suppose to kill 99 times. horrible tacked on add phases and annoying story cutscenes can stay tf out. the fact it gives 2 totems per kill is icing on the cake.

I did like this fight. More than diamond or any other weapon extreme. Was I expecting more? Sure. Am I disappointed? Not really.
The DPS check is non existant though, even after using the healer LB3 and having additional deaths.

I was surprised there was no add phase.
Like, in story mode we had that small add and I thought we'd get at least 2 of them (2 adds at the same time) at least in EX.

I liked the fight from what I've done of it thus far, but it does feel incomplete and I felt like they were overextending the gesture in difficulty when they were advertising the fight, which doesn't really help.

We did have a ~1% wipe, but only because there was a chance to finish it. Probably would have if I didn't die to that third red planet like a nub.

Felt like this fight lacked variety in mechanics - just crashing planets over and over again. To paraphrase the boss, "The same mechanic again and again".

I liked it, but I wished this version was the actual final boss difficulty in Story Mode.

Just seems appropriate to me.

It was a pretty good fight mechanically imo

But I expect a lot more spectacle from an EX story final boss trial and it absolutely did not deliver. At least make the spectacle on par like SoS EX did.

Endsingers aria difficulty is fine. Hard enough for casuals to feel like they are doing more difficult content, which is the purpose, as they are on a scale behind savage which is behind ultimate ect. The part I feel disappointed in was how flat it fell after the joke that was zodiacs fight. Like where's the spectacle? The mid fight Black screen cutscene thingy? The music change? It just plays out like eh.

That being said I personally miss the difficulty of the old exs. I was there for skip soar or disband, and I'll never forget it lol

This is still an extreme, nothing new though ? It's a fun fight to learn and then it becomes very trivial when farmed. If anything it's so much more interesting than Hydaelin ex.

Maybe one day we will get a "ballad of the end" an ultimate for the EW trails.

It's a real snooze for tanks, who just basically have to exist lol

Nah, Seat of Sacrifice EX was a considerably difficult/great fight despite being an EX. It was harder than P1S and P2S no contest

You say the previous two EXs were harder, yet the sad truth is, is that those have been the easiest EXs we've gotten in a while. Hell Zodiark just needs two competent people to mark and the fight boils down to follow the circle or the triangle.

I feel the same way about most of the trials in this game, except perhaps Hydaelin ex. There's no real spectacle or anything that makes these fights stand out. Zodiark just sits in the front of the arena the entire time until he's dead (He does have a phase transition where... he takes his mask off? Then the fight just continues without any noticeable changes). He doesn't compare to Titania, who started in one room, and transitioned into a beautiful outdoorsy area, with an add phase that made the fight look and feel epic. Also that fight was harder. Even Hades normal mode had more of a spectacle than Endsinger extreme.

I mean idk at the end of the day it's still a fun fight. Maybe the team is being stretched thin due to redesigning a lot of the ARR dungeons and boss fights? I can understand that, but they could have addressed the fact that the new trials were going to be cut back in terms of spectacle.

I'm fairly sure almost every EX released in the last 4-5 years has received its own thread about "worst EX so far, the others were way harder, terrible design"...

Fair point but can you not see how much of a downgrade Endsinger is as a final boss extreme fight compared to the last 3 expansions?

I like the fight, I'm just sad that we don't get to hear the second phase music, which I love, but I can still play it on youtube I guess. But at the same time I'm happy because it means no 2nd phase cutscene that becomes a drag when you have to kill it 99 (or in this case, 50) times.

I wouldn't draw conclusions tbh, it's always varying. P3S is the hardest third fight in a while, while P1S and P2S are as easy as extreme fights. Looking forward to see what the ultimate looks like.

In my opinion, E11S was harder than P3S but not that hard. P3S's issue is mostly about arena and environment colours all blending with the animation colours, the mechanics themselves are really easy.

Eeh me and my friends had fun with Endsinger EX. We didnt expect it to be THAT hard. Its just the usual "learn the dance" concept that we've been doing for the others EXs and Savages.

The whole thing with starting with the last phase wasnt that big of a deal for us because you still had all of Endsingers 1st phase mechanics anyway.

Seat of Sacrifice was dogwater tier, like all the ex trials in Shadowbringers.

White Hole mechanic in the first 10s, annoying arbitrary add phase that never really added anything of worth to the fight, and farming the fight was a total chore.

i don't think it was that hard either tbh. i remember killing it in a single lockout with my old group.

Tanking Thordan EX was one of the least favorite things I did in HW.
