The new PVP is so fun!

I love queuing in as a four dps one tank team versus two healers and three dps!

Watching those healers just afk their way to the win is so satisfying!

I love queuing in as a five dps team versus two tanks and a healer with two dps!

Watching everyone on my team take a dirt nap from that utterly balanced comp is neat!

I can only imagine the amount of money sunk into this thrilling adventure!

It must have taken many hours and quite a few exotic spices to get to this point!

The icing on the top was forcing me not to play with anyone who had a clue because, golly gee willikers, competence isn't the name of this pvp game, hyuk~!

The new mode hasn't even been out for 24hrs and already people have started afk'ing for the incredible joy of helping other folks get their tomes faster!

I love how RNG is involved in attempting to raise my rank, because if actual skill was required, gee golly willikers that'd be a sight to see!

It's just so exciting to get the DEFEAT message when you are ahead on everything, it makes TOTAL sense!

Priority targeting is such new concept, it was only introduced barely a decade ago, but watching the wonderful sight of its complete lack of use is masterful indeed!

I mean, why would anyone want to say focus the highest new dps, or the healers, madness they tell me, madness!

Fighting the pre-mades on voice who all clicked the button juuuust right is awesome as well, they really help me cap Tomes fast!

I'm super glad I can't talk to anyone either except through pre-recorded messages that have a slight passive-aggressive tone to them.

Yes, this new PVP is so much fun!

So much that I fully expect people to be joining to play for like, uh, centuries? Maybe even millennia?~! It's just so fun!

As long as we keep ignoring those pesky healers keeping entire teams up, and focusing those dps with guard on, this wonderful new PVP game will be oodles of fun!

I've been stuck on Silver 3 for the past 4-6 hours, 3:35AM and im going to sleep...pissed off. You're not the only poor bastard suffering from this injustice (Lol, I can only do is laugh to soothe myself to comfort and get some damn sleep).

5 dps team vs Healer tank teams win all the time. Grab a 1 marker, put it on an enemy's head, 5 dps attack and cc them at once, dead enemy, rinse and repeat.

WHM is the only real strong outlier, I could see them maybe getting a nerf, the rest are fine. They do no damage and can only support so much, focus them or a DPS and people will still die.

New people are bad, who would have though?

For prioritizing targets, looks for ones low on MP and or someone who just used guard, place a marker or use the "Attacking Target" quickchat, or both in a macro really helps, easy kill.

This "pre-mades" in voice is just something you tell yourself to make you feel your loss was unjust.

WHM is all I see unless it's a 2 healer team, and then there is the odd scholar/sage.

New people are bad, and I'm yet I'm punished for it with no way to strategize with them, explain anything, or make an effective difference.

The pre-made exist, the fact you deny them means you probably use them.

The entire tone of your post is the reason ranked pvp is pointless.

I think your post is exactly the reason why chat is disabled. I'm very happy I can just enjoy PvP without that drama.

Yeah, this is a cop out. I shot call a lot of my matches, tell people which targets to focus, which to ignore, when to fall back, call my LB's etc. The only time I feel I got "carried" is when someone else called for me. Yes, there are good and bad players that you have no control over getting queued up with, but you also do n't control who you get queued up against. So for every steamroll one way, there is one another. There is always room for personal improvement, and room for someone to take charge of their team to increase their chances of winning.

See, ranked is supposed to be about skill.

There is no skill involved, no matter how you try to present it.

No amount of skill is going to help you beat that 2 heal/3dps comp with 1 tank and 4 dps on your end, it just hasn't happened no matter how much effort I put in or how hard my team works.

When you hit that comp for hours all the fun and thrill drains out into the snarky tone I use now. Because it isn't fun to be steamrolled for hours, I mean, unless your into that...

When that same team is the SAME people for HOURS that's when I call BS on your "there are no premades" argument.

MMO PvP should not be about playing C&C:Generals. Yes its really strong if you have someone who is good at it, AND, and this is a big IF, you get people to listen but lets not pretend this is fun. Wheres the potential for 1v3 outplays and stuff, none of that currently exists in the design present, going 1v3 is a death sentence by all metrics because you simply dont have tools to take fights like that and win by sheer skill.

But I'm enjoying it even when I lose? It's a game, it's fun. If you don't like it, don't play it?

Def glad the comms don't allow for chat in-game...

You missed the point. I do do that. Im saying its sad that there isnt room for skill expression for someone to go godmode and actually 1v3 people (not using a few of the wild LBs that just kill people)

The very fact that you make a comment like "If you don't like it don't play" goes against the entire concept of getting more casual players into the system.

If I don't like it, I eventually won't play once I have my rewards farmed from casual, and then guess what? Soon queue times will return to those wonderful 30 minute Feast timers, great for you right?

I don't like the new pvp at all. Only playing for the rewards but there isn't a single thing I like so far.

I love the new game. I'm playing Ranked PvP since 2 Days from about 13°° to 1°° in the morning, non-stop. I'm ranked 19 now and I have 11 wins. Bronze 3 !
Can't get any further since 2 Days.
So much fun.....

Speaking for FL only.
It's CC hell (crowd control). Not half as fun as it used to be because of it. Overwatch, um, I mean FF14 kinda fixed this with the immunity thingy previously; why remove it? Balance?

Purify only last 5 secs, and has too high cooldown. If you are target of CC chain, you're pretty much dead. Also, there are unavoidable job specific CCs that makes it even worse.

I'm all for CCs, but currently it's CC on steroids. 4x chain stun is not fun.

Also, I absolutely hate the insta-death Ultimates, um, I mean Limitbreaks. Dunno, doesn't belong in this game, feels off. Especially the 3% MCH thing and the instakill SAM. MCH is too random, and SAM is just so cheap. At least with NIN it makes somewhat sense.

As is now, it feels like FF14 tries to be an FPS PvP. Understandable from a business perspective, as that kind of PvP is way more popular. But, imo, FF14 has totally changed its identity in order to make it more popular. Which is good for FPS fans, but a slight kick in the balls for the rest of us.

Job specific Ultimates are cool, I like that.

Reached the point now where folks just afk if it's 2 heals vs 1/0, great system in place really keeps folks afking just like designed.
