FFXIV crashed a minute into the first cutscene for me. No error message, just crash to desktop.
The first time I relogged, I just reappeared just before Tataru, and I tried again. This time it crashed when it faded to black queuing the cutscene up.
Every log in I've had since it just crashes on load into game on my character, and am unable to play the game.

I repaired mine and validated them in steam and it still keeps doing it. Not sure if the quest might possibly be buggy or not, others seem to have no issue which is puzzling. Dont even get any error it just closes completely

I am having this issue myself. Basically I go to talk to Tataru and it goes into the cutscene, Blackscreen (You know to show the cutscene is loading) Then my client just closes. I am on the Windows Version so right now I am repairing my client, as well as updating drivers and stuff. I've tried a few times to see if I can get it to work or not. and sometimes it will give me "An unexpected error has occurred" and show Direct X 11 stuff. I am hoping the repair works. But this was not happening to me a few days ago when I was leveling an alt through ARR soooo.. I have a feeling it's not on our side. I have read things saying it could be related to the amount of people trying to do it at the same time. buuut till we get an actual answer, looks like we are waiting. Ill update if the repair as well as updating of drivers and stuff works.

I dont know if any of you have tried this yet or if it will keep working for me but i ended up having to disable directx 11 on the launcher and so far it seems to be working in the cutscenes. If anything changed ill let you know but i thought id post this info for you to try

Sooo update since I last posted. After repairing all day. I finally am able to get through the first cutscene. Now we will see if I crash again. I will keep you all updated.

I managed to get to the second last quest in the MSQ by having dirextx11 disabled on the launcher, now i cant go any further because when i click on the quest giver i get booted out, so if i have directx11 disabled i get booted with a directx 11 error and when i have it on i get booted with a ffxiv.exe launcher error ... They need to figure this out because we shouldnt have to reinstall stuff for a possible direct x issue
