Praetorium/Imperial Dungeons suggestions

Hello!

I've been playing since Stormblood, so I realize I have not been around as long as some ppl have. And so some of you may remember a time before all the unskippable cutscenes and the reasons why they changed to how they are now. And I do understand the reasoning for it. I've had several dungeons where I watch a cutscene for the first time and as soon as I come out of it people are miles away and I spend all my time running to catch up.

That said, I really feel like running these dungeons is kind of a nightmare due to cinematic length. And that 90% of it is not voiced. And it would be a wonderful quality of life upgrade to EITHER allow them to be skippable again (seriously, 1hr runs, 40 min of cinematics 10-15 min of running, 5 -10 min of actual fighting)
OR bumping the rewards up to be comparable to other content.

The amount of time you spend in cutscenes, you can run the entirety of any other lvl 50 or below dungeon, and even some 50+ ones. Any trial, and even some raids.
And with the completion of those content adventures, earn way more rewards as incentives to doing them.
So with praetorium /Castrum Meridianum (sp?) you spend much longer and get less for the same amount of time invested.

And while it is true, you don't "HAVE" to do them after your initial MSQ... If you do the roulette you will still be ambushed into doing them.
Also, with certain events (like moogle treasure trove) the rewards you are hunting come from these instances, so if you are trying to collect the items to turn in for gear or whatever, you DO need to run these. IF for no other reason than to avoid spamming the same dungeons over and over again.

So please consider either a reward increase to justify ever doing them compared to any of the other content pieces, or allow some way to avoid being locked into 40 min of un voiced, unskippable cutscenes for a 60 min instanced run?

Good news: Today is the last day you can run Castrum/Prae as they are now. The updated versions will go live with 6.1's launch.

The rewards are bumped up. And they're being overhauled literally in 2 days my dude.

Not really. The boosted award you get is, for prae at least, proportionate to the time you spend.

This is like saying you got ambushed with having to walk 8 miles when you signed up for a funrun. YOU ARE SIGNING UP FOR THIS.. it's 2 instances in the roulette.. you gonna get them.

... so.. run this once for 10.. or run ANY OTHER INSTANCE IN THE LIST over and over. This is your choice to make.


.. I dunno grats on your first post being absolutely nonsensical, myopic and quickly irrelevant since as someone else pointed out, this is all moot come tomorrow.

Them being overhauled aside, you don’t have to run Castrum or Praetorium for Moogle Tomes. I’ve been doing Dun Scaith just on the weekends and managed to get plenty for the MGP token things.

IMHO, none of the rewards you get from the MSQ roulette are really worth it. You can do them if you want to be engaged very little in the game, but otherwise there's a lot more fun alternatives for other things (apart from I guess current patch tomestones, which is just running the Experts roulette I guess).

Want Poetics? Sink some time into Eureka/Bozja/Zadnor. Bozja/Zadnor especially since they're a nice way to level things above 71 alongside.
Want Irregular Tomestones? Get your BLU up to a modest level. I suppose the spell farm scene might not be as active on Materia just yet, but you can always grab friends and start from scratch together. It's what I did with some peeps in my FC. There always seems to be one instance during the Irregular Tomestones events that can be efficiently farmed with BLUs.
Want XP? Honestly there's better ways out there usually that don't involve running down the same, constantly interrupted and monotonous path. Not even an Aurum Vale can be worse than a Praetorium for me.

Seriously. The MSQ roulette sucks. Maybe less after the revamp in 6.1, but I still won't be queueing up for it personally.

MSQ Roulette was good to get rewards while doing something else. Or at least Praetorium with it's extra long cutscenes was very good for doing other things.

Too bad, Praetorium was a great time to work on my Gunpla backlog. Now when am I gonna find time to work on my Master-grade Deathscythe Hell?
