SE, fix your old A rank health points.

ARR/HW/SB A ranks Health Points feels so huge. I used to one shot them, few shot them or 10 mins fights on SHB as a tank. But now on EW, it like 10 mins, 30mins or unkillable as a tank. It really sucks to see the stat squash ruined something fun to do whenever you see A rank from old content and solo it for giggles.

The health of all enemies was already changed in the squish. They seem to die just as quickly as they used to at level 90, especially if you use a DPS.

I could nearly one-shot A ranks at level 80 with Hyoshin pre-squish. Now with close to BiS level 90 gear I need to do my full opener and a bit of filler to kill them.

Though I consider that a net positive since the ARR S ranks were getting deleted in sub-five seconds by even small crowds of players previously.

keep in mind that ARR A-Ranks need to be scaled to lvl 50 players for people that havent bought any expansion yet (which is a legit reason)

No. A ranks are meant to be done with other people. This is a good change.

As far as i remember this has nothing to do with the stat squish. Yoshi hated the idea of A/S Ranks being 1HKOed by max level players, so they changed that on purpose

Something is clearly off on Hunt HP values.

This also may have to do with how your stats increase via the leveling process. For example say you have cryplurker gear and get to 85 you will notice that even with the same gear your stats have gone down and your spell speed or skill speed will be less. Until usually that tiers ironworks, shire, scavean, cryplurker at level so 50,60,70,80 respectively will your character be as they were. If this makes any sense. So at 90 right now, it will feel harder to kill things than it will when doing a hunt at max gear for this tier, a huge difference possibly. Sure they will still not be one shottable I assume, but it would take less time. As your character gets higher level the worse their stats, so am assuming this is just a balancing thing that is done to keep stats from raising too high between expansion so you feel more powerful later. Though when down synced sometimes things go fooy like spell speed being way longer cast time than when you were at that level or sometimes too fast depending on gear and level range.

It does have to do with the stat squish, at least partially.

Whenever the stat squish happened, doing unsynced content would be more difficult. I don't remember the exact numbers, but 1-50 remained unchanged and 51-80 was reduced with 81-90 matching the Shadowbringers stat growth. This means that level 90 characters are "weaker" than they were at level 80 (and also, right now, don't have the highest ilvl for expansion cap). For DF content, they made up for that change by giving buffs whenever doing unsynced content; However, those buffs didn't carry over to the overworld (obviously).

I doubt that they changed how powerful the A ranks were to other characters at that level; It's just that level 90 players are "closer" to it stat-wise than level 80 players were.


Edit: I agree though, this is a good thing. They should be available for groups; Find your DC's hunt train community if you want to take them out!

They did squish ARR endgame content (basically anything past IL70+ content), it's just that shaving off 20k HP from an A rank is a negligible difference to a lv90 player when damage numbers are not what they used to be.

And no, they are not going to "fix" this, because lv50 content is designed with lv50 values in mind, not 90.

As long as you're not dying to old expansion Rank As (short of failing to do mechanics), there's nothing wrong with the numbers. It's fine for things to take longer to die - that encourages players to invite others to join them instead of soloing them so everyone else misses out for the next 4-6 hours.
