Is there any other possibility to clear the screen from the UI than pressing Scrolllock? My Laptop has no Scrolllock Key and so I can't find a way to clear the screen

Yea my keyboard has no scroll lock either..., I usually just print screen gheto copy paste in Paint lol .

change the shortcut in config........

I use an AutoHotKey script, so when I press Ctrl+h it is mapped as the scroll lock key works fine.

Its as simple as editing the default script to ^h::ScrollLock

^ = Ctrl, h = h key and ScrollLock means the combination maps the scroll lock key (the :: is required as well)

Its that easy, then before you open FFXIV, just open AutoHotKey before hand and the script will run automatically.

Last I checked you could not map the key to hide windows, it just wasn't in config.

Try Function + F5, then print screen.

This, although some laptops are different. Look for Scroll Lock or Scl Lck somewhere on your keyboard.

HP laptops function + F5 is a media button, and seriously I think they are getting rid of scroll lock on laptops because it seems alot dont have one, AutoHotKey will allow you to set a custom shortcut as scroll lock and it works perfectly.

There should normally be a way to toggle media functions on those type of keyboards.

Its a fixed function key, there is a BIOS option to toggle whether the function keys (F1-12) default to function keys or media, brightness etc etc, but all that does is swap whether you have to press fn to use F1-12 or media etc.

Trust me I have tried EVERYTHING for scroll lock and the only way is with AutoHotKey, alot of modern laptops do NOT have a scroll lock key, mainly because for most home computing tasks its not needed, I for one have barely used a scroll lock key, but if no one believes me then meh.

Relax, noone is saying they don't believe you. I was just giving an alternative to looking for external programs to do something that many laptops can do on their own.

If Fn+F5 works, I would suggest you just use the hardware given you. If it doesn't, try out the autohotkeys. No big deal, do whatever works to get those screenshots.

I do hope that SE opens their eyes to this issue and changes this from a fixed key combo to allow us to remap if need be for those that do play on a laptop that does not have a scroll lock button.

My keyboard doesn't have a dedicated scroll lock button either, but I can press FN + Pause/Break and it becomes scroll lock.. Then while holding down Pause/break I have to let go of FN and then press Print Screen.

Don't know if that helps you at all.. Most if not all keyboards should have a scroll lock button.. but on compact keyboards it's usually on one of the FN-keys.

I have tried Fn and every key to no avail, scroll lock has very few uses, and alot of people will never have used it so manufacturers can get rid of it and very few people will notice.

I don't want to hold FN+STAMP (in my keyboard is this T_T) and after with FRAPS run for release key and press rapidly STAMP another time... i hate this >_> i want press a combo and the screen stay clean until i press the combo again T_T (like tera)

I wish they would add a /screenshot command so that I could set it it macro and be done with it. I have to hit three buttons to take a picture and it sux.
