Hello! First-time poster and relatively new player here (started last July), and even though I love my character I've noticed an unfortunate texture/model seam error. Was searching around the forums to see if anybody else had experienced it and found a thread about it from 2015. It's visible in-game, not just in the character creation menu, and in multiple lighting conditions. I don't want to fantasia her but I'm really hoping with the new graphics overhaul that whatever is causing it will be fixed somehow.
I know that we're 2+ years away from 7.0 at this point but I suppose I wanted to call attention to it so that it doesn't fly under the radar. Not sure how much the developers pay attention to the forum but I've been really pleasantly surprised by the level of care they seem to have for the community ever since I started playing.
What sorts of things are you guys hoping for from the graphics update? And are there any little niggling annoyances that you have with your characters that might be improved with some updated models/lighting/a fresh textural coat of paint? Cheers and thanks for reading!

It's a weird lighting issue and it seems like the graphical updates in 7.0 are primarily improving the lighting on characters and the environment, so it hopefully won't be glossed over.
I've also noticed that the particular face I'm using can look...awkward in a lot of lightings where other faces in general don't, but it's not enough to be a dealbreaker. -

Lighting and shadows can have a huge effect on how a model looks. For example, most of the time my character look fine, but when I'm in the market in Gridania, it looks like I have heavy bags under my eyes. Hopefully the model updates fix these issues.

Aura face 1 has similar problem on her lips. Looks like the texture is mirrored and seam appears vertically in the middle

Here's an example of it in a scene with otherwise quite good lighting.
But now that I know what it looks like I can see it in most cutscenes unfortunately. I've talked to a few people with more modelling/texturing experience than I have and they're split about whether it's a model or texture issue. -

Man all I really want is for hair, armor, weapon, world, and item textures to stop being noticeably pixelated and aliased. I'd even be willingly to forgo new content for a year or two if they spent it on an engine overhaul and various much requested QOL improvements.

You can enhance the lighting on your character and others- it brightens them up in cutscenes
I'm hoping that the elezen faces and miqote faces are fixed as well- they have their own issues (like missing colored in nostrils so they look like they haven't rendered)
And more make-up options/ enhanced colors
Better and improved hairstyles but I feel like any hairstyle we get will be some basic, cutesy hair or a mullet/ spikey hair -

I do have a problem with how the game cast a penumbra on character textures, it looks completely muddled. If you choose, for example, fair skin and add red lip color to make it a bit more alive... then you go into a semi shadowed area without a direct light source, the texture on the lips looks like as if you put some very dark lipstick.
I hope this lightning revision can make that a little less jarring. -

I used a shader to help enhance the line on that specific Au Ra face
Really hoping it will be touched up but it also would be 1000% better to report this in bugs BECAUSE I reported something similar about the Moon Keeper miqote faces & how the nostril texture was missing, it was confirmed to be a bug
