Question regarding collaboration.

I have to ask this question to the community, because for some reason this just doesn't make a lick of sense to me.

During a Moogle fight (I was WHMing) I asked the other WHM if he wanted to Stoneskin before or after the King moogle attack, and what I got in response was in /tell from Messenger Armlock of Ridill, who says to me, "Next time don't ask questions about stuff just do it." "It doesn't make you look pro." "They're talking about you."

Translation: "Collaborating with a WHM partner to avoid wasting spells affects your ability to pilot your character and makes you look non-pro."

So let me get this straight, as King Moogle pops up, I'm supposed to assume which one of us is casting first to look pro? Am I the only one who feels this is idiotic? And who really needs to put such an emphasis on needing to look elite? I've done this run successfully with Messenger at least 15 times, not to mention the numerous other things we've done together. I can understand if it was a suggestion to improve my casting abilities, but what the heck?

Am I crazy?

what i usely do i take (claim) the regenerate and the other takes stoneskin..if he wants to.. if not then we do without stoneskin... no questions asked.. just do your spell over and over again.
Only thing i ask usely is who will cover the tank and who the party.
If i see the other mage taking over my regen-spell.. i stop casting them at all unless i think it's needed .. for me WHM have to be asigned tasks to get the max out of it .. only makes sense to avoid confusion and double casting spells wich would only be a waste of time

Uhn... Think you ran into a particular case of below-average cognitive capacity of people involved, Elytham. I personally never go into any boss battle, PUG particularly, without first getting a briefing from the commanding officer- I mean- Party leader.

Exactly! This is my point right here. I think good leaderships rests in collaboration. Making plans before entering doesn't make you a newbie, or even bad at your role. You're right, Skies.

Well, this is the behavior the game is asking. Born knowing, have the right class/job and the needed e-peens or GTFO.

That's what you get when you have a game strictly based on the self-called HC players' needs.

Still, you shouldn't be posting this here...it will make you look non-pro. =P But seriously, it's not your fault in having a friendly attitude to try and optimize your role. If someone really think that all WHMs should be spamming protect and SS everytime they are close to wear off instead of settling things, this is, at very least, concerning.

Can't blame you for doing your best and if they do then it's their fault for not bringing you up to date about any plans or tactics they may have.

We all knew what to do, the only thing that ever needs addressed are what BRD is casting what, and which WHM is casting SS first.

I dont bother about SS ,i find it way more important the party + tank stays on high hp.
I noticed most WHM care about SS and find it very important , wich is why i naturaly never cast it and choose regen instead.
