GBF doing a collab with a dead game instead of XIV? what a waste... well I guess the 5 people who are still playing XI are going to enjoy it

On a serious note here, I love playing FFXI. Just recently started and already engaged by its old school charm and Im happy that the game is still getting some attention every now and then.

Considering how quickly WoW Classic servers turn into ghost towns, that's not the best comparison.

I don't think XIV could get anything good from GRANBLUE FANTASY, that's probably why we aren't getting a collaboration event.

I would love to have Lyria's dress and hairstyle but I guess they won't share them easily!.

also helps that FFXI is still getting new updates and content, unlike WoW Classic were they're literally just copy pasting what they did before with no new added stuff. So in that case it BETTER be same sub if they're not going with the OSRS route and making Classic+

This is probably why FFXI is still running on a sub model but still, would wish they shared FFXIV either way~

So, when is FFXIV? getting another new collab. Last time I played FFXI there was only 10 on the server I was playing on. Why is FFXI getting one when FFXIV makes SE most their money from Subs.

The only thing I can recall XIV ever having a collab with that was not another FF game/spinoff and actually a game was PSO2.

So I see bashing on XI is still alive and well from certain people in the community. Charming.

XI continues to be a highly profitable MMO with a dedicated and rather large playerbase and it continues to receive content updates on a regular basis, not just maintenance patches. Not surprising SE is leveraging its name to other games as they've done this before with other mobile games.

If I had to guess by the placement of the names (Granblue x FFXI) then it's mostly likely Granblue will be getting stuff from XI and not vice versa, similar to the recent Nier x FFXIV collab with the phone game. I haven't played Granblue in a while but may give it another go if they're putting XI characters.

Ok buddy, only ten players on a server. Even dead-as-hell (in comparison to overfull Asura) Siren had near 2k players just last year. Don't forget that when XI was the de facto most profitable FF in franchise history, its profits were siphoned off to develop XIV and continued to do so until probably HW when XIV was able to stand on its own feet.

Besides the fact that SE makes most of their money from mobile games with their multiple microtransactions and not XIV.

FFXIV never got it's half of that deal. At this point I doubt anyone really cares enough to demand it anyhow.

Given that PSO2 NGS has somewhat renewed interest in the game, I could see it being an excuse for them to re-release the collab (With the costumes updated for the better NGS models) and make it available to the western players as well.

Both the behemoth and Odin were translated well into their respective game's mechanics, as was Rathalos in XIV.

I was really hoping maybe we'd see a Dark Falz show up in XIV with the excuse of it just being an unusual voidsent.

I hate myself for missing the FFXI collab with FFXIV. I heard the whole storyline with Iroha from the Rhapsodies of Vana'diel got its conclusion there with her coming to Eorzea.

FFXI desperately needs a remake but it won't ever happen. The one time they did try remaking it they killed thet project like 2 years into development after sharing practically no info about the game in general beyond a handful of early screenshots. Still though it's cool this game still gets its own events.

I would LOVE a remake (I am aware it will not happen) but I would be so thrilled if so.
I hop into ffxi a couple times a week to slowly build some job points. If we get a collab. there then great!

FFXI is truly what I consider "home" Will support it until its final day or mine.

As an actual NGS player since close to launch, there's not. 80-90% of the blocks on Ship 2 are dead all day and people are getting drip fed content. All of the people I originally played with have retreated back to base PSO2 or are off on other games.

It wasn't a remake, it was a mobile game set in the same world and was being done by an outside studio. SE didn't really have much to do with it and it was that outside studio that scrapped it along with a lot of other projects. They do keep saying that there is some big announcement this year, but its doubtful a remake.

Which is sad since there is still much more to do in xi than xiv and most of it is much more enjoyable and rewarding. The battle system is just too slow for most players coupled with the dated graphics and the complete lack of handholding, it just makes it a very niche game.

Also hilariously untrue. As someone who has had a xi sub since 2005, this has never been the case, and in fact, xi still has thousands of ppl online per server at any given time. Which is also why they are getting more battle and story content on a monthly basis and yet another piece of new endgame content was already announced. I swear ppl just love to make things up

Weird choice of collabs for their age..but not really otherwise. I was actually surprised Granblue WASN’T actually a final fantasy spinoff with how incredibly same-y it is. Not that it’s bad, but it really should have just been FF the anime.

I'd still play FF11 over the P2W mess that is LA, I hate old school MMOs but I hate devs that don't respect your time much much more. I'm sad that I missed out on the FF14xFF11 collab event.

It was mentioned in a Live Letter that they'd like to rerun it in some form, but it's up to Garo's owners if they'd be allowed to do it.

I actually think a Granblue crossover for FFXIV would've been really cool.
A lot of the gear in that game could fit right into FFXIV quite easily imo.
