Lower EXP for Frontline Roulette

I'm a competitive person, just like any other person that typically plays a PvP mode. I'm utterly over the amount of AFK'ers and enablers in Frontlines. There is a difference between trying and learning. People that can't do more than 10/20k damage should not be grouped with people consistently hitting 200k damage. It is literally maybe only 4 buttons to get 10k and you are in the match for at least 10 minutes. It is obvious that people aren't trying.

This is almost the last thread for me between cancelling my subscription and continuing, because if people act this way in content that I constantly get told "no one cares about", then I can't imagine the attitude of people in other content.

For the people that will disagree with me, fine, then take away Leaderboards, achievements that require wins, and the PvP Profile since the stats are lies. Getting a win is complete RNG in it's current form.

It does sadden me that FFXIV has many players who afk or item level cheese because either "the content doesn't matter" or "the rewards aren't enough for me to care". It feels incredibly toxic. I'm hoping sooner than later, SE is able to better punish afkers and fix item level cheesing (particularly alliance raid roulette) in order to improve the game's experience for those of us who want to enjoy the game the way it was intended. The more I play this game, the more I see this game's community as a defining example of passive-aggressive toxicity.

Non-participation is considered griefing and you should do your civic duty to report such players to GMs.

PvP reports have been ignored for years.

AFKers and win-traders never get actioned, no matter how many times you report them.

There was a patch (I think it was a little after 5.2 or closer to 5.3) where frontlines was giving out significantly less experience points. To my surprise, there were complaints, and soon enough that problem was fixed. I don't see lowering the experience points happening if majority are going to be fighting over rhe amount given alone.

I'm literally top dps 3/4 of the matches and still getting 3rd place sooo many times it's infuriating.. and then people here says that one ppl can make the difference >_>

This is bar none the biggest blight in the community and it’s not completely the players fault when the game is blatantly designed to not engage you, very very few instances where your choice as your role matter outside of savage

It's rare, but every now and then I would see a game where someone gets over 30 kills and only has 600 points to show for it at the end of the game.

Due to how the system currently is solo carrying doesn't exist, and it never will. It takes 2 to carry.

EXP rewards are the only reason frontlines even pop. Prior to that they were dead queues and it took preplanned events for them to pop so people could get the mounts. Frontlines just isn't a good mode. 72 players is just too much and it turns into this massive zerg.

Personally I wish they focused more on smaller scale pvp instead of frontlines.

Perhaps we need to take a look on this matter from different perspective
Experience gained can stay the same, but we can increase the exp and tome gained for first place.
For example, first place will reward 100% more exp or 40 tomes

I'd love to see the rewards based on individual contribution to the fight. Generate a rating based on damage dealt and healing. If rating is within a certain range of the average for your alliance you get the current rewards. Below that range, get only wolf marks. Above the average range awards bonus exp and tomes.

This way those who are actively playing don't see any change to their gains, those who aren't pulling their weight are incentivized to try harder (but still get something if they're just not at that level yet), and those who are putting effort into doing their best are awarded accordingly.

That would be great if SE actually policed their own game and banned cheaters.

Smaller scale roulette would be worse in my opinion. More responsibility on a single player means they would be less willing to participate in something they don't really care about save for xp to begin with. The massive zerg dilutes individual skill slightly and makes it easier to join and just tag along.
Of course I'd love it since you'd probably have more interesting encounters I guess.

Do we really want the zergers though? They are the biggest reason why FL suffers.

It should ideally be a happy-go-lucky, no to little stress, super casual pvp mode, but it's simply frustrating that people don't actually participate.

Personally for me no. I hate large scale pvp which is why I avoid frontlines at all cost. 8v8 objective based pvp imo is the sweet spot as its not too many people to be chaotic, but just enough that you don't get swarmed like you would in a 4v4 with much stronger focus fire.

I've started having fun with frontlines, but I wouldn't play it if it didn't give exp.

I like this, but like it more if it would gimp the losers to make losing less effective than any other roulette, while winning be more effective than the best of them.
