DC travel restrictions

To make the upcoming DC travel system work without causing problem's we need to have some restrictions.

I would like to talk about restrictions that we are fine with having when we travel to another DC.

A important thing would be a mandatory wait time of 5-10 min when you move to another DC.
Simply to reduce the amount of people traveling to a other DC for S-ranks and Special fate. It is already difficult enough to reach them even on your own server and DC travel will make it worse.

Reginal Travel does not need many more restrictions.
Maybe a additional tax on the market board of 50% or something like this for the treveler to keep the economy's somewhat the same.


For Worldwide travel we probably need more restrictions in what we can do.
The differences especially in how we use the PF and latency issues for savage could become problematic.

So we should only be allowed to queue in the daily roulette's in the Duty finder.
And for PF group we need a extra check mark to allow people from worldwide DC's to join.
You should also not be allowed to open your own PF, to prevent outsiders spam.

By this you can still have your main on EU but play the savage's with a static on NA.

Trading could also lead to a problem.
So maybe it should be made impossible to trade with someone of a distant DC.

Anything more that the devs need to think about?
What could potentially break the game or cause a lot of frustration?

No thanks - the fact that some worlds on my current DC manage to craft and price items several hundred thousand Gil lower than others is the economy at work. Seller have to realise that people can and will shop around and if they are the most expensive then they are less likely to make a sale. Adding in a "tax" serves no purpose other than to falsely inflate already high prices even higher.

No thank you. Those restrictions would defeat the point of DC travel. Obviously, some people will want to travel to another DC to do savage or farm extremes with a better ping.

I mean, they still could do that, but just not random via DF or in completely random PF group's.

Also, the alternative would be that worldwide DC travel does not exist, because Yoshi-P is also worried about the big cultural differences.
By doing this restrictions you give the player's of the visited DC the choice if they want to play with someone who is maybe used to completely different strats or potentially have a 200 ping.

Lalafells should not be allowed to DC travel

Or maybe once a week. Sounds like a restriction that will help solve possible issues

Dont think well see a drastic change with cross DC travel, keep in mind you will have to log out and deal with the queue again to travel Also world travel didnt really effect the economy all that much, a vast majority of folks still stayed within their own server when shopping, fairly small amount of players actually pinch their gil and browse around. For the most part drastic drops from prices is due to the ease/simplication of crafting/gather, its never been easier to level, crafter, and gather so theres beenan explosion of omni hand/land.

OP does bring up a good point about any time of rare/special spawns...I can see that being a real problem.

What will happen when everyone in North America tries to log in for a Chi spawn on a server?

I think a plethora of arbitrary restrictions on DC travel will cause me a lot of frustration.

The people on the servers won't be able to log in or teleport. Can't wait for the disaster cross DC hunt trains are gonna bring, already hate cross world hunt trains.

Yes, and that's why I made the thread.
It will become a problem, maybe not in a content drought, but with every new patch.

And I think the easiest solution is a mandatory 10min wait before you get on a other DC.

All the other stuff I wrote is just to make a worldwide travel possible.

Do I need to have my shots? Can I bring produce?

Seriously though, they have probably already decided how this is going to work at this point.

I agree with intra-region DC travel but disagree with inter-region DC travel. There are simply too many opportunities for problems, most especially language and culture, that I'd rather prevent than make SE repair.

100%, people should not be able to interact with the economy in any way, shape, or form, on any world outside of their DC. Each server, and to a lesser extent, DC has its own economy. Allowing people from other DCs where an item may go for 1M more Gil than on a different DC will seriously destabilize the economy by jacking up prices higher than the people native to the impacted DC can afford. The 17M I've got in my bank is plenty big enough to let me buy what I want, when I want, without worry that I'll run out. I can be considered average or slightly higher than average for my DC, but would be considered on the poor side on a DC like Crystal.
