Lets talk about minions

i wanna know what everyone's favorite minions are and why!

I like Puff of Darkness. It's cute and hugs your shoulder when you call it.

I usually don't pay attention to minions, though.

favorite minion: wind up tifa

why?: because its tifa

I have to say that my little red panda is my favorite. When he climbs up on my shoulder he just looks so darned cute.

Cait Sith for the unsteady wobble

Honorable mention goes to dodo for that goofy topheavy running animation.

I don't have an absolute favorite, but Lalinator 5.H0 is a top contender definitely, because the Dwarfs of the First are amazing.

Fenrir pup is my boy, with Komainu as a close second! The former was a gift from another friend after I had mentioned my ill luck at getting it to drop, something I super appreciate, and the latter is just a cute lion-dog that I can't help but adore. <3

This is a bit of a tough question for me because a few of my actual favourite minions are ones I never use. I love the snowy owl minion and the Nier pod minions.. but I always find myself clicking on them while I'm playing so they just become more annoying than lovable after I click on them instead the gathering node or the enemy I'm trying to target for the 20th time. They just happen to always fly in right around the same area where I have my camera angled. So, yeah, pretty much all of the flying minions are kind of out of the running for me as far as minions I actually use.

As for minions I actually do use, it's a toss up between the spriggan (dust bunny) and the tonberry. I love them both and they don't have the "argh get out of the way" factor that the flying minions do. I also really like the minion you receive at the end of the 6.0 MSQ but it still personally feels like it would be too spoilery to use it in most areas of the game.

My Wind-up Bahamut. I love how he hops around with a Dalamud eggshell on his head. And then when it tries to float away he jumps up, grabs it and puts it back on his head again. What's not to love?

I like the Wee Ea minion...though that stems partly from the fact that it's involved in spawning one of the Endwalker S ranks and I'm just too lazy to change it out for something else.

My favorite minions are Wind-up Haurchefant, Wind-up Aymeric, and Miniature White Knight. As for why those are my favorites...

Wind-up Haurchefant: I just love and adore Haurchefant

Wind-up Aymeric: I love Aymeric as well and usually have this minion out the most for in-character reasons

Miniature White Knight: I just think it's neat

currently i'm using the wee ea, i really like the idle animation they have. otherwise i use the golden dhyata because i like how small it is.

I really love using Laladile as my minion just because of this :)

For sure, I quite like the dhyata as well. It's cool, relatively rare to see around, and one of the few flying minions that never seems to get in the way for me. Not sure if it's the small size or that it seems like it flies in a different space than most of the flyers, but I don't think I've ever accidentally clicked it while I've had it out.

Bluebird ever since i got it years ago. I take him everywhere i go :D

the dodo, starbird and silver dasher are my favorites!

Basically any minion that perches on your shoulder!

I wish more of them did that.

Chameleon.
Whenever it camouflages, you can still see the bow on its tail.
Love it!

Tonberry. Absolute favorite cause I've always loved them. Perfect blend of menace and cute.


Also I tend to have the black coeurl out most of the time cause having a little black kitty following me around is just awesome.

Giant beaver and the new bat minion are two of my favorites.

I wouldn't say it's my favourite, but I typically keep Gigi out because they (in game) told me that he may develop his personality again while he travels with me.

Current favorite: Flag (the deer)
Overall favorites: Gestahl (the dog), Bat (the bat)

White Whittret.

It's cute and sits on my shoulders.

I was spending days losing my mind farming for the Starbird until I won the Royal Lunatender in a map dungeon. This scrunglie boy is my son, and I would die for him. The best little guy I never knew I needed.

So many I like but I have real soft spots for those that go on my lala's head like the Lesser Panda and Baby Opo-Opo

The Ancient one. He gets frantic randomly and runs around in a panic. It always cracks me up.

Originally it was the Wind-up Dalamud and Wind-up Bahamut, due to their exclusiviness and all round coolness, then it was the Model Enterprise, not just for the exclusivity but because it has a tiny Cid figure at the helm!

Then for the longest time I had the Wind-up Aeris Aerith, because she's my favourite FF character (Aeris outfit when Yoshi? :D) and it actually made sense in a weird way, that the minion could have passed as a lalafell flowergirl, that had latched onto the nearest adventurer (namely my character), and was now following her around for protection. :D

But now, it's the Wind-up Herois for... reasons (one of which is the clever double pun in her name.. the obvious 'hero is' as in, "this hero is", but also... it's the clever result of running 'Helios' through Japanese phonetics where r's and l's' are interchangable and sometimes letters are rearranged phonetically, Helios being of course the god of the sun in Greek mythology, which is a "nudge nudge wink wink" to the identity of said minion and the seat of the Convocation of Fourteen she formerly held in Ancient times, before a certain other incorrigible young rascal took over the position from them as their student and became... well.. you know who. ;) And that she then also became later on... well, again.. you know). ;)

my faves

I like all minions that can sit at my shoulders.

Fox kit and Bom Boko. I have a soft spot for foxes and raccoon dogs.


Rydia, cuz she is my favourite childhood character.


Tataru and Krile, cuz they are my favourite characters in FF14.


I'm in Twin Adder, and I get Kan-E for faction leader minion. I always like her, though I hate that she is often seen dealing with Moogle race, which I dislike (I only dislike the Moogle edition of FF14.)


And anything that looks cute until I get bored of them.

I like a lot, but I really love my little 9S

I find Blizzaria (one of the yokai minions) really adorable.

Dust Bunny, because it's a Spriggan.

Runner-up is my Immortal Flames mammet.

The Paissa Patissier is my favorite and I also like the Demon Brick and the Armadillo Bowler a lot.

My faithful Mini-Vuk follows me wherever I go.

With my love of Scáthach and all her versions in F/GO. I've had her wind-up version out since I got her back in Heavensward.

Magic Bucket. I think it's cute.

I like too many to pic a favorite. Currently using Flag a lot because he's adorable. Also really like the wee ea, and ofc most of the Scion minions because I like the Scions (wind-up Tataru is my fav of those). The lil phoenix one is up there too (scarlet peacock I think?) And the bird from Sastasha that sits on your shoulder. The lantern from PvP is neat too. And the sun/moon ones that you can use as extra lighting for screenshots.
