Monthly Plea to update the Baldesian Arsenal queue method

Would love to organise some runs for our community but would rather stab forks in my eyes than go through the "get 48 people into one instance then stress out hoping everyone gets a portal" fiasco again.

They should just change it to be like the Dalriada.

As annoying as Dal was I actually got that one done after a couple days of begging for parties.

I have never done Baldeisan Arse and don't plan to unless a change is made.

I am amazed that noone at Squeenix HQ has come up with that idea yet.

It is a major flaw in Game design if you need a exterior Program (Discord) to organize Groups for BA, but for pretty much any other type of Content you got Dutyfinder, Partyfinder and as mentioned already, the way how Queues as well as scaling works in Dalriada/Castrum in Bozja, so why should BA in Eureka be a exception?

Just because the idea on how you "queue" for it, is considered "unique" by some people (which isnt, it is just generic Portals that spawn that work just like the entry Portals in Dungeons in their overworld location. And by the way, this has already been changed once because it only used to be one Portal at first instead of multiple ones all over the Area.), doesnt mean it is useful or good.

The queue method was by far the worst, absolute worst, idea they've ever had in this game and I've been around since Beta. Never experienced anything like the horrendous stress of trying to get your group in to go for a clear run without people out to sabotage you or screaming that they were entitled to be there since "you don't own the portals". It was horrific, truly. I got my clear and never went back into Eureka ever again. Yoshi and a dev ended up writing an apology about it all. Yet, here we are.

Oh, also you didn't get the mount if you were dead at the end, unlike DRS where you just get the mount from the achievement. Lmao. That meant you had to go through it all AGAIN if some numpty with a bomb rekt your party on Ozma. Unsure if they've changed that but it honestly wouldn't matter if we could just QUEUE FOR IT.

It's interesting you mention this. I actually believe BA is when a lot of linkshells just straight up died. All communication moved to discord for good. It was kinda heading there anyways but BA was a massive push.

"Why should BA be an exception?" Because it was designed that way. And they learned some lessons from the content and applied those to Bozja. But they're not inclined to spend the resources going back to modify every piece of content to apply every lesson learned. They'd be remaking half the game every year.

Additionally, they probably just simply don't see it as the big issue it's made out to be, as (from what I recall back in the day) JP was absolutely capable of just getting randos together in the instance and getting it done, without exterior programs.

Truth be told, most of the mechanics of BA aren't so bad that Discord is necessary. We just make it necessary by naturally being a culture resistant to working together on the fly.

They eventually have to go back and fix the mess theyre leaving behind, in ANY Content, be it BA, PvP or Dungeons in general. The more Time passes and the more Expansion were getting, the more not only the Powercreep grows, but also the Content, will lose more and more significance, unless you and your Discord are willing, to be up for it for all of eternity, to run BA just for that one Guy who got lost/sidetracked on his way to ShB.

Also, there is no way for someone who isnt part of the Discord, to clear BA, unless he has enough Friends who just happen to be active at the same time. PF is meaningless because even during primetime, most People by now got everything they ever wanted from there, so why should they go back? It took me 4 evenings of trying to get 3
People for running Rabanastre just for Glamour reasons, and it will be at the very least, equally as hard to get People for BA through current ingame means.

If youre using Discord for yourself and your friends to organise this kind of thing, then thats nice, but forcing People to join you just so that they can clear ingame Content, is no different in essence than having to watch ads on Youtube.

The Game should and has to, provide a reasonable way to Clear ANY content through ingame means, no matter how you sugarcoat it with you and your pals being nice and all, it is a ingame flaw in design no matter how you look at it.

I think they should change that one aspect on how to enter baldesian Arsenal is at least on the method to enter it, sure, you still need the key no problem, but at least make it that we can queque into it so that we can plan who will enter it, like player will queque with the key on some portal and enter a que, the first 48 are guaranteed to enter, while the 49 and so on will wait if the player from the first 48 not entering, the key will be consumed once you entered the arsenal........... this is perhaps better than what we currently have at least, and our current queque if not successful will be for the next arsenal or again quaranteed for the secondary portal

Eureka is mostly future proof because of it's unique leveling system, just like Bozja. Level 70 potency changes aren't going to make Ozma any much faster compared to having elemental bonus on your gear, now that's a huge bonus but of course you can't get elemental bonuses on anything besides the chest unless you clear BA a few times.

I always figure they left BA alone since SB because it is rather puggable in the JP data centers, they just communicate and sometimes use macros. I get it was their first community raid to tackle together, hence the warning you get when you talk to the NPC about difficulty. The problem is people want to be carried, don't care, etc. Even if they made it a self-queue, you can imagine many will not bring Eureka actions, mess up add rooms cause of yolo, might not even wait for support fate to clear, or even have people to clear the fate for that matter. So you can't just make it a queue, the support fate requirement ensures it's Hydatos-wide content. In one way they accomplished something great, the other is kind of requires organization because you can't just grab people and clear.

Anywho it's obvious they changed their thinking since then with Bozja CLL/DR/Dal being easier to pug and lower difficulty, they kept the BA difficulty and then some like more instant death, and healer raises don't work aspects for DR Savage and having to be premade to enter.

Yep, if EU/NA would see BA like they see Castrum/Dalaria, they wouldn't have that problem. More people going in BA as they can would have meant they learn to prog it faster than once a week if they get into that special discord group. Releveling takes like 10min so it was really a non issue.

I was testing Pagos as full Eureka+all-haste equipped BLM, Ive noticed I can't do as big pulls anymore and when I solo the dragon or a morbol I take a bit longer to kill it. Therefor I feel like the stat adjustment added like 10-20% more HP to a mob, or lowered our dmg by that much, how you see it. Idk if it's the same in hydatos

No, the problem is, I want to be able to queue for this with a pre-made group. We run catch up content for our community and this is the only thing that everyone refuses to touch because of the method just to enter the dungeon.

With DRS we had everyone ready and prepared with their appropriate bozjan actions and potions and we supplied guides. No one turned up hoping to be straight carried.

I'm just asking to get INTO BA without having to jump through the hoops of having everyone enter/leave/enter/leave for 45 minutes while we try get the entire group into one instance. The rush the portals with the chance of someone prepared and ready losing a place to someone who was just wondering what this portal is.

The stabilizer is available, allows entry into the portal immediately. It's used more often in JP, but also support groups that want to join the BA in-progress in NA use it so they don't have to trek across the map for a portal that isn't near. If everyone has one, they are secured versus people who just wait it out.

Also BA is not an instance, it's just a dungeon inside of Hydatos instance, that's why a queue also doesn't exist.

..Are people really stressing over "what if a portal gets sniped" still? It's not as if Eureka is so wildly populated that there's a significant risk anymore...

And besides, that's what preparation is for. Portals on spawn require a stabilizer to enter, which few randos will have. Organized group can either have their own, or at the very least, everyone gets to their portal before they change. If you're stood next to your portal before it turns red, there's not much risk of getting sniped.

Have also not seen Eureka so populated that there are so many instances running at once that it takes anyone "45 minutes" to get a group all in the same instance.

These all sound like complaints formed years ago, without recognizing that the causes have all died off since then.

It won't be changed, but there is a discord that specializes in doing eureka content, specifically BA. Since expansion hype has died down, we've been more active.

The discord has a bot that has a queue system. We pull people from the queue and get organized as a giant group and run BA in an organized fashion. Very high success rate for clears. 90+%
