New sheathe customization.

Hi friends! I hope you are well today. Today, I'd like to talk about new weapon sheathing options for a few of the jobs that we have. First off, I have no idea how much time and effort this would take to implement, but it's just wishful thinking that something like this could be added.

On to my point! How would everyone feel about new sheathing animations/weapon locations for each weapon? We've had the same placement since the beginning of this game and aesthetically, I'd like for more options. Say for samurai, ninja, and dark knight, maybe have the weapons sheathe to the lower back! How amazing would that look to draw from that position and to be able to customize how your stance is? Also, on the topic of stances...could dark knight please use their battle stance emote as their regular stance? PLEASE!?

Please feel free to discuss here what sheathing positions you'd like for your own job! I could really only think of the main three I listed, but I understand there's so many options out there! I'm sure we can think of something!

I feel this game lacks combat content, so things like this I could really care less about being implemented. And for how much detail you have in your post, they would remove another dungeon per patch from us for this.

Something that needed to be a thing years ago.

Sheath locations would be fantastic. Honestly they could leave the unsheath animations the exact same - no one will care too much if we could sheath our weapons in different locations and the animations to grab them were off... most people draw their weapon with an attack anyways which skips the unsheath animation anyways.

Ninja : Lower back, over each shoulder, thighs
Gunbreaker : Across lower back (like monster hunter Sword and Shields!) Over the -other- shoulder. Hip.
Paladin : Link Style. Sword and shield on the back. At the same time.
Samurai : Over the shoulder
DRK and WAR : Let us flip the shoulder its on.
WHM and BLM : Let us just walk around with the staff out like its a walking stick/lean on it

Just off the top of my head.

I might revisit the thread again in some other time because I just can't think of any nice new motions they could've probably added.

But if I know anything that I want related, is to have our (un)sheath animations updated to EW's version. If you've played through and watch EW cutscene, you'll notice everybody, including our WoL's animation while (un)sheathing their weapon are improved tremendously. It looks super fluid. It's one of the reason I turn on again the watch cutscene setting for EW dungeons. I'd LOVE to see this getting added to our regular motions. Pretty please SE, with cherry on top. ;)

Really? The RDM cutscene weapon draws in Endwalker were so jarring for how deliberate and slooooow they are. I feel like anyone who wanted to blast me with an aethersmite while I was drawing my weapon could have, easily. Don't know about the other jobs because I only did cutscenes with RDM but maybe I'll see a few when I get around to doing the role quests. If they're anything like RDM I'd prefer we just keep the normal speed weapon draws that we've always had.

They should just give us the unsheathe and sheathe animation from cutscene... Those stuffs are bomb! :D

A few classes do need this. Dragoon and warrior need animation changes to how they walk with their weapons. 100%. But sone of the stuff you want is grossly excessive spevially since it leaves a lot of classes unfairly left behind in those categories.

It is precisely the speed which we draw our weapon that is to my liking. Pre-EW everything WoL draws our feels like weightless… a paper…

It wasn’t really noticeable with smaller weapons but when I came into CS as a heavy armed jobs such as WAR & DRK, they really do look like a piece of papers, it’s hilarious to watch.

That being said, I’ve only seen the tanks, healers, NIN, DNC, BRDs, and SAM. I should watch the other jobs’ too.

I really don't care about extra sheathing options. Some glamours already have knives in the back or on the belt. I much prefer new things to do.

can i have magic sheathe unsheathe pls?

like instead of the weapon exist on our hip/back/etc, the weapon just appear out of thin air or something magical like that.

You can already hide weapons while sheathed.

Also the Monk EW Cutscene unsheathe animation is just... 11/10. gib pls

I would just like scabbards for all these naked blades like the paladin's sword, and dark sword, and ninja blades, etc.

SCH and SMN definitely need not only the sheathe, but also their idle animation changed when the weapon is out. It always annoyed me how BLM & WHM both get to have a completely unique set of emotes and ways of holding their staff in combat, while SCH and SMN are literally the same in that department.

+1 Would be very appreciated. Would like to have this for my Ninja.

I would kill to have fem monk idle pose. I hate the male monk idle pose so much lol
