PLEASE put something like it in the golden saucer. I can not stress how much I enjoyed this.
Also to people who comment they didn't like it, ya'll ain't brave enough for the spookyness. Boo.

The spooky part is the fact your health does not regenerate lol, I accidentally got ping pong bombed at the first part, that scared me a little.
But it is a fun event! I really enjoyed it
I really really enjoyed the instance as well, way better than previous one :D
Yeah, I enjoyed it too - it was fun, interesting, not too long winded, and had a good spooky vibe.
Well done devs - would love to see more stuff like this.
I personally didn't care for the new instance and would have liked the option to do the old one for cookies, maybe add some new mini-games into the rotation? I think the skill charges/cooldowns in the new instance annoyed me. I understand the purpose behind it, but it degraded the experience for me. Kudos to the team for making a new dungeon for the event though and even if I didn't, I'm glad others did enjoy it!
It was the best event we've had in 2 years, it's been so long since we've had an event instance with actual gameplay like this on top of a full new outfit. The last time we had any of this was Valentione 2020, very glad to see it back and I hope the upcoming events will be just as good.
After how long we had to wait, they really needed to knock this out of the park. And I think this is a fantastic event.
It's a definite step up from the Haukke Manor dungeon event they've done the past few years, and actually a lot of fun to run.
I'm just glad they finally released the Mentor outfit.
My completely original joke.
This one, i enjoyed a lot. Thank you Square!
iam still waiting on a sequel to the cheap dungeon

It is enjoyable, at least from my experience. It’s a good break from ”Oh another event, another seasonal FATE. Ok time to camp…. And fall asleep.
I hate seasonal instances. I don't want the clown outfit anyway so will probably skip it. The house items would be nice but I am not running that horrid thing to get them.
Well good thing for you they don't happen too often then, huh?
At least if you want the items from the event it'll only take 10 minutes to go through the instance once to be able to buy one of each housing item. Or you know, you could ask friends if you think it's 'so horrid', lawl.
Too short , was OK
All done in an hour
Thats how I feel with these Seasonal events.
Why they dont make them last longer with the content already in place, I will never understand . Any other MMO would have milked this opportunity to give a good week long time sink by making the rewards page much larger even if most was themed fluff , but definatley an expensive ( high token amount) unique themed mount reward so that people would do it often all week to try and get it, and create it so that many ARR instances had the Ghostbusters mode enabled for large variety.
While I enjoyed the event, I wish the housing items were a bit "easier" to get - I like hoarding lots of them in case I'll need them at some point (think cherry trees and snowman-butt-lamps - both items that make me angry at myself for not stocking more of them back in the day...). While each run gets me two of the housing items, I'll have to run them quite a few times to get as many as I want - and I'm sure I'll hate the instance by run 17... one cookie each would have felt more reasonable to me - or just let me buy them with gil...
I enjoy the npc who is selling the gear. Good old ARR era Square comes back with the eye candy
The boss fights are a little too forgiving and left no room for deeper gameplay, but I understand it has to be accommodating to new players who aren't used to the FFXIV encounter design language. Wouldn't say I loved it, but it wasn't bad either.
I thought it was great. The quest line wasn't too short or too long and the dungeon thingy was a welcome change of pace. I'd be quite happy to see similar things for future seasonal events.
I highly enjoyed the new duty, but I wish the old one was an option. It was more challenging.
Yes, please!
I loved this event.
I highly enjoyed this event. 10/10 would recommend.
I personally hate the event not only did they ruined the best seasonal event but also add a boring dungeon were I target mob -> press 1 button -> dead.
Give me back my cryptic notes telling me where the first untrapped box is ffs.
I'd really enjoy events like this as higher tier GATEs for the saucer. Having to run through a modified dungeon or challenge map bopping enemies and helping (or otherwise interacting with) npcs for points with "boss" battles based on avoiding, collecting, or using the previous established mechanics? It'd be a blast and a fun way to earn MGP.
The event was alright. Kinda weird that only the first "boss" has a reasonable chance of dealing damage to you, though. And that's only if you get greedy with grabbing the pumpkins.
Otherwise, I didn't think it was bad. Better yet, it's the least disturbing Satanic ritual I've had to interrupt in Tam-Tara. Granted, there have only been three, but it happens often enough that it's becoming a worrisome pattern!
I'm enjoying it as well. Definitely nice to see a new event taking place. I do want to enter the manner ar some point so I can cosplay as some new prople. Haven't had a chance to.
And it gave me an excuse to break out my Jack Skellington outfit. Thank God Bunny Boys can wear pumpkin heads.
This is exactly the kind of thing a holiday event should have -- a fun, unique, thematic mini-game activity. It's not dependent on role or level. You can do it multiple times if you want extra stuff, but it's not something you have to grind over and over to unlock the "good" thing. I don't actually like any of the rewards and have no use for them, but I'll overlook that as it is personal preference. I still give this holiday a "thumbs up" in concept and would like to see the model in future seasonal content. I do NOT want to see another holiday where all you do is complete a short quest where you talk to NPCs, or do a FATE.
If you'd twist my arm for things I don't like about it, I would say that I don't like the feeling that I can simply jump in, get all the rewards in an extremely short burst, and then completely ignore the event. I only ran the instance twice and that was enough to get every glamour item. It feels like "Well, I did it. Now this holiday has no appeal or purpose to me anymore." I'm not asking for a repetitive grind or anything, but I would like an incentive to come back and engage with the holiday festivities for more than one day. Maybe the rewards cost a bit more of those Pumpkin Cookies, but you get a bonus amount from the mini-game once per day, so it's better to not spam the content and instead play it a bit at a time at your leisure.
Alternatively, I think it would be neat if there were a universal "Holiday Ticket" currency on the side that you can get once daily, which is transferrable toward rewards for other special seasonal event items. So, even if you have everything you want from this holiday, there's still a reason to go back and participate each day because it can help you out for future events. I don't want to encourage the pressure to grind content repeatedly over and over, but it gives players a reason to come back: if they enjoy the mini-game but either have everything they want or just don't like the rewards, this still gives us a reason to keep participating.
Lastly, I have to say I don't understand what the purpose of this Haunted Mansion thing is. It seems like you get placed in Haukke Manor, with one NPC who lets you change form into another character, and...? What? What are we supposed to do there? I only went in once and couldn't find anything to do or interact with. There was a skill on my hotbar to alert characters about something, but I couldn't find a use for it. Is there an event that happens here? I really don't get it.
Previous All Saints' Wake events have used the house and the glamour imp for their quests. I guess keeping the imp and house in place is apparently not a big deal code-wise so they just open it up for fun times looking like notable NPC's if you want. I admit, I usuallyt give it a once over so I can do silly emotes with super serious characters like Kan-E-Senna or Urianger and whatnot.
Also, is there more to the quest? I completed it and got the achievement....but the story doesn't seem to be over? Is there some other quest I'm missing?
i've really enjoyed the event this year . I see why Yoshi insisted they do the event as soon as they could.
I know they added some to the mini-game housing item, but the instanced events would definitely require something else.
As for those wondering why the Haukke Manor is a thing, it's because FFXIV is a very social game. A lot of things you do just because they're fun things to do with your friends and aren't really about rewards. Bards and their music, weddings, seasonal events, housing, etc, are all social things that are designed for the community to get creative with and just chill with friends.
I think its one of the more refreshing parts of the game.
It's obvious why they ignored the request. They intended to bring it back once a year. No one would care if it was in the Saucer all year long and they would have to gin up new content for the next Halloween event. They won't stick the new one in the Saucer, same reason.
I think the Saucer ought to have a spooky haunted house instance, but SE has sadly left the Saucer undeveloped since Stormblood.
