Can we please stop getting tiny, undersized Trial mounts?

As we had in ShB, where trial mounts were these little baby dragons that were horribly undersized for anyone besides lalafels, we seem to be repeating that trend with Endwalker. The new lynx mounts from the 2 extreme trials are woefully small in scale compared to our characters to the point of looking extremely goofy. Along with having disproportionately small heads.

I've been of the opinion that the art direction for mounts in this game is very poor as almost everything is some sort of goofy creature, especially when we have month long beast tribe grinds for something like a tiny little flying piglet. Or it will be something cool, but it's a mount that looks absolutely ridiculous flying (like the Ananta Elephant). Seriously when we've had flying for several years now it's silly that we keep getting ground mounts that can just magically fly without wings or anything.

But as far back as Heavensward we had the lanners which were very large and very cool looking, along with obviously making sense as flying mounts, but it since then the mount design has only gotten worse. The Gwibers and winged lynxes would be perfectly fine though, if they weren't so absurdly small. I'm not sure if this is just them continuing their trend of making mounts look goofy (for whatever reason), but I don't really care to grind for some mount that looks stupid. Please scale up mounts to properly be sized for our characters. I'm not saying change the gwibers or the lynxes now since I'm sure people who already have them like them as they are, but going forward, can we please at the bare minimum have mounts properly scaled up for our characters. And please stop making ground mounts. Every single new mount that's not from an extreme or savage is some sort of ground creature. We've had flying for several years now, the mount design should be reflecting that. It makes zero sense to keep making dogs and pig mounts that have no logical ability to fly and just slapping flight on them, it looks beyond stupid.

At this point though, zero of the new mounts, save for the new savage mount (which I won't be getting this expansion because I don't do savages), interest me at all for these reasons and I'm sure I'm not the only one who isn't bothering to grind for them.

Once again, Gang Magitek Armor reigns supreme.

Kind of funny that a good portion of the decent mounts in the game you get for free just by playing the MSQ.

I prefer smaller mounts, personally. It lets me see more of the world around me. Ironfrog Mover, Rose Lanner, and Ehli Tou are my go-tos.

Same, small mounts just *feel* faster. The broom from the halloween event way back when is still my favorite.

As a max height Raen, I find the gwibblers not too bad a size. The lynx...well, the heads are a bit small from what I've seen(not gotten one myself yet). But the majority of the trial mounts I find to be a decent size.

Should be noted that the santa bear mount was free as part of the in-game Christmas event a few years ago. I.e. just saying it wasn't originally a store mount.

It's explained why the ground mounts can now fly they they utilize a aether wind currents to be able to do so just like you have to get aether wind currents to be able to unlock flying for new zones

Big mounts are really annoying, I only really use small ones myself. And dude, there are plenty of big ones in game without having to go to cash shop.

As for the last trial mounts, I just find them ugly even if small. It seems like a really badly patchworked mix of animals that makes no sense

The Behemoth mount you get in the achievements exchange in Gridania is huuuuuge.

I've said the same a long time ago.
For example. The Horses in this Game are so bad designed it's a shame. I mean, look at their Barbie Horse like Manes and tails, ridiculous.
Lately there was much discussion about WoW. But, you can say what you want, when it comes to Creature and Mount Design, the WoW Team plays on another Level.

I was talking about this with my friend. He's a male Au-ra and I'm a female Au-ra. We were on our ruby mounts and, I was laughing at how small my mount is compared to his. The size should be generic to everyone. I mean just imagine a lala on a ruby / diamond of normal size? Wouldn't that be cool? Some mounts could remain small, but teeny tiny dragons? IDK, it would look cool if we got a normal size dragon.

They've done this with certain mounts, and it's terrible. The managarm mount from refer-a-friend doesn't change size based off the character, and my feet used to clip through the ground riding it as a roegadyn. Mounts scaling with the race of the player should be the norm so that everyone can get use of the mounts.

Venat's dog is unironically better looking than the latest line of ex mounts and holds more emotional value in my eyes. I don't even want to know what the reward for collecting them all will be. A mecha-lynx?

We aren't to the top of the mountain, yet.

I personally enjoy having the smaller mounts, if they're one seaters. On a smaller screen, it's more efficient.

Edit: I want a giant bumblebee one of these days.

To me its not their size. To me the proportions.

The baby dragoons look terrible if you ride them as anything but a lala... but the mount music is soooo good. I legit only get mounts for their music :D

The new EW mounts just look sad based on head to body ratio... the art design team fucked up real time.

It does kinda feel like that sometimes they design a lot of "fun" items for only lalas. Then they just try to fit it for all but it does not always work...

I've never noticed anything terrible off about the size of the gwibbers in comparison to my bunnies. If anything, I really dislike how massive the robot one is because it feels like it covers the whole screen while moving like molasses lol

imo the newest trial mounts being ugly is far more damning their their size- heads too small, weird musculature, random floaty bits.

It's so strange the art direction for armor is so consistently focused around making things look cool/sexy and they've only improved with EW, but the mount designers have the exact opposite approach, everything is some gaudy, silly-looking, lame cartoon creature. Doing hunt trains and seeing everyone on their rainbow assortment of mounts really shows just how bad the art direction for mounts is in the most purest display.

Older mounts weren't always great. The "wolf" from the ixal beast tribe is terrible. The elbst from the sahagin is also kinda love-it-or-hate-it.

I love my Dark Lanner more than any of my other mounts, but to me it seems as though the mount could stand to be a teensy bit bigger. I am a tiny Au Ra and yet I seem a bit too big for my Lanner to be able properly carry me.

Working as intended, small EX mount now = bigger feeling final completed EX mount later, duh...

My Dark Lanner's been my only flying mount since I got it; it's sooo good! I'm a max height Elezen and feel it's fairly well proportioned for me relative to the other mounts in the game (points at poor Cocobo's subs flapping madly). If this were in the Real, non-magical, world, yeah, the birds would have to be HUGE to be able to carry us.

I'd be more concerned about too many mounts recycling either the body or the head models regardless of species compared to mogstation mounts being a lot more creative with the designs.

I'm still waiting for the moment that the mount is so small that the character carries it instead.

I wish they were useful.
