Anyone else putting off resubbing until servers calm down?

As I sit with a queue of 2607, and 6 days left on my subscription, I'm wondering if it's worth it for me to re-subscribe at the moment. My play time is more limited than when I was unemployed, and "an evening of FF" by the time I get logged in will mean about an hour or two of gaming.

I'm not sure I have *better* things to do with my time, but I certainly have *other* things to do than to stare at the login screen. And it's not like the game won't be there for me when I return. I'm still in Stormbringer, so I've got a ways to go, and clearly the leading edge is not where I need to be.

A shame. The story was just starting to hit a stride, and I was nearly ready to get back to my class quest, which I've put off in lieu of the MSQ.

You could always do what I've done: switch from the late evening to early morning shift. Going to bed at 10 pm, getting up around 5:30 or 6:00 am, logging on and playing until I have to get ready for work gives me about 2 1/2 hours playtime per day (not counting weekends). I stare at that queue of less than 50 for about 15 seconds and am in the game pretty much right away.

You don't have to pull an all-nighter, and queues pop pretty much as fast as they do in the evenings.

Just noticed that my forum avatar still lists me at level 83 ... i'm close to 87 at the moment. Don't know why it hasn't updated in a while.

Nah I haven't missed a month sub since this game came out. If I can't log on to play, then I just can't log on to play and will try later.

In your position, it certainly sounds like you might at least be in a good spot to take a break. There are pretty much no queues at all on my server, even in prime time, but I know that's not the case for everyone.

The queues for me only pick up around 8-10pm EST. I'm able to pop on during the rest of the day no problemo, working from home and all.

I just use Steam Link before I leave for work to join the queue, and by the time I get home I'm <500 in the queue if not already in-game.

It took the Blizzard collapse to get me to unsub WoW, and it will take a whole lot more than a little congestion to get me to unsub FFXIV.

Also I find logging on with the intention of having to wait works best for me, then if it's a short queue I get a pleasant surprise.

No problem taking a sub and I’ve even considered it… but really at this point I log in every few days to check retainers/etc then switch to No Man’s Sky. Sometimes I get the itch to do something in FFXIV, but yeah, if the wait is 500+ people, I can just do it later.

If you are in a spot where you aren’t feeling like playing for more than a week, yeah I would say go ahead and unsubscribe.

if you don't have a house, and you're aren't trying to raid right away and you reallly feel that you're just not being serviced, then yeah just wait till the shiny newness wears off and things go back to more of a "normal" feel. it'll still be there waiting for you when you come back.

It just really sucks when your internet goes out for a few minutes while you are in a dungeon, and you are unable to log back on for an hour because of the queue :(

Still subbed. I got workarounds for the queues. No issue for me.

Still subbed. I log in around 3-4pm every day, get a 20-60 ppl queue. Log off anywhere from 11pm-2am.

Things have mellowed out on my server. The highest queue I've seen in the last 2 weeks was 50, so I'm good on Crystal.

I'm infuriated with how impossible it is to maintain an organized raid group with the state of things, but no I'm not unsubbing. I love the game. I'll just keep screaming at square until they get the wits to add grace time to being disconnected while being logged into the game. Truly an amazing experience waiting around 2 hours while a raid member 90k'd off the game for less then 3 minutes. The best expansion and also BY FAR the most frustrating.

I'm probably just going to stop resubbing until the alliance raid comes out - keeping abreast of the mid-expansion content feels pointless to do due to how progression works. Why bother doing the normal raid when you get 3/4ths the content and unfinished loot compared to savage? Why bother going through the effort to gear up when in a few months they'll be dropping new tiers of tomestone gear, alliance raid, and even relic weapon which are just as easy to get and take the granularity out of it. I have no particular desire or urge to do things the instant they come out, especially not when even after all of the rush fixes they've made there are still relatively long queues just to get into the game.
