So our character has... SPOILERS

Saved Eorzea from the Garlamad Empire. Stopped a 1000 year war in a matter of days. Liberated Ala Mhigo and Doma, again in a matter of days. Saved another shard and what was left of it's people. Discovered the history of the star. Slayed the eldest of primals and literally stopped the entire world from being destroyed by traveling to the ends of the universe all without asking for anything more than the next adventure.

I think we are entitled to at least lifetime free teleports. ;)

I think everything that happened from 2.0 to 6.0 happened in a span of a year. If they said "7th umbral calamity happened five years ago" in 7.0 then this... this will just be bullshit.
As for the deeds, well we're quite powerful. It turns out using force is a good way to solve many problems x)

I hope they do some kind of time skip in the next expansion

I want to see Alphinaud and Red Alphinaud as adults

I don't want free teleports, I just want a stat counter that shows us how much gil we've spent on teleporting, repairs, and other random things just for funsies.

I was honestly expecting there to be a time skip when we finished the story lmao. But I think next expansion would be a good place for a time skip provided they finish up the story of the interval patches of 6.0 before 7.0

The story is done. The next story begins in 6.1 instead of the usual 6.4.

Nah I don't care about a time skip.. as it'll be pointless anyway. We don't age. I rather we just get a new starting zone in a new area for everyone who finished 6.0

tbh this seemed to be forshadowed in 5.5 I think. There's a conversation about how young the twins looks despite their age. iirc Urianger mentioned that he had a growth spurt.

I'm not ready for tall Alisae and Alphinaud.

I don't really understand teleport costs in the first place...I mean, seriously, is the lifestream stealing our gil while we're in there? I don't see anyone standing by the aetherytes collecting tolls. :D

In my head time roughly flows just like "ours" since ARR was released up until today. Thus, it has been nearly 10/15 years since the last calamity. If I think this way, it makes more sense to liberate places and solve stuff in the span of year and a half or maybe two. Just my two cents no one asked but helps me to sort out this "time bubble".

Red Alphinaud needs to join us on our next adventure. Blue Alphinaud can stay in Sharlayan though and it would be fun to have an arc in patch MSQ in Sharlayan with him. :D

I honestly hope that 7.0s big feature is a rebuild/upgrade of the engine.
They've been saying for years that they're hitting hard limits on things they can add.

We're still technically running on spaghet code leftovers from the 1.0 to 2.0 transition.

PSO2 New Genesis shows how an MMO can do a big engine overhaul and a sequel while retaining access to the original game.
NGS success or failure aside, the concept of having XIV ARR to Endwalker as a separate thing to whatever we get from 7.0 onwards is actually a pretty decent way to do it.

An entirely new story unfettered by what has come before is a prime opportunity to do a massive visual/Engine upgrade.
XIV is 10 years old now including 1.0. Not even counting the years of development work prior to launch using even older technologies.
To want to do another 10 years of XIV, they kind of have to upgrade the core of the game.
Even that other MMO was forced to upgrade it's engine in it's recent history.

This is taking the loresplanation just a little too far; of course there isn't someone collecting aetheryte maintenance fees from travelers as they arrive at Ultima Thule--and we're probably not even Teleporting to Ultima Thule as far as the game universe is concerned. But the game is the game and we need aetherytes in places where there maybe shouldn't be aetherytes just because we have a certain expectation of convenience that new zones need to uphold because nobody wants to teleport to the place where we began the journey to Ultima Thule, fly into the place with the thing, and then get on to the thing, every single time they want to go there--if it even is far enough in the story that the thing is not just assumed to still be at Ultima Thule.
