Give gear with capes a hide/display option

Am I the only one getting fatigued of the capes, or should I make like a Jerry Mcguire and pack up my gold fish? I'm no rocket surgeon but I'm assuming adding this to existing gear would be a deal breaker. So let's meet in the middle and add a hide/display option for all cape gear going forward please.

I would totally wear the new healer tome and raid chests but… capes. I’m with Edna on this… No Capes!

A cape toggle would be fantastic! Just like how some head items have open and closed options.

The best we can hope for is less capes in general.

They should of turned the belt slot into a cape/wing slot and should really give us a sub-item slot so we can wear glasses with hats too

I agree. It also kinda depends on how the model was made... Like, if you deleted the cape from the Moonward casting set, what ever is underneath is "finished"? If so, then they would just need to set the visibility for the element. In theory sounds simple, but since the curse of the sphagetti code plagues this game, not sure if that would be something easily implementable.

I would also really like the option also toggling stuff that aren't just a cape, but most of draped or hanging parts. As a former miqo'te player, the tail clips horribly through other stuff too, like the Singlet tank top with its fannypacks. I'd love to hide those for that matter. That was in fact one of the biggest reasons that led me to change to Viera... I get the animal ears without the annoying tail. (Though, hats... alas that's another subject...)

Capes have turned me off from practically all glamour options post Stormblood. Been wearing nearly the same crap since 4.1. Was really interested in the Imperial Coat of Casting until I saw the cape. Can I use the Striking version please? It's literally the same thing but without the damnable cape.

Gods, please. Especially since SE seems convinced that the solution to the clipping issue is to, once again, amputate my character's bodyparts...

I swear all the topics, give us this, give us that, what do you people not understand about how fundamentally broken the games basic code is, I mean they literally had to create an altogether new midlander face just to add stubble. They had to remove belts to allow slots for more weapons

You really think they can just toggle capes without having to jump through 10,000 coding hopes

Eh, you're not wrong. Frankly, I don't think I've ever seen a glamour with a cape. Maybe it's an Endwalker thing, but I'm pretty happy with my capeless glamours now so I can go either way.

To be fair, I said to have the hide/display option going forward. I wouldn't expect it to be retroactive to existing gear. I personally don't like capes and there's alot of gear I would use if I could toggle off. Like helmets.

There's nothing wrong with asking for QOL changes to a game you pay a quarter of a brand new Triple A game a month for, people ask for improvements because they care and want the game to be better, belittling them for this would only serve to stagnate the game in the long run

I would love it if they turned the belt slot into a glamour accessory slot for this. It looks like they added the "false spectacles" fashion accessory to allow people to wear glasses with hats but fashion accessories are very limited and clunky to use given their designation as a modified mount. As an aside I'd also like the ability to wear the Claws of the Beast with fingerless gloves... or have a replica version of the Republican Signifier gloves that aren't locked to casters only.

I'm not bothered by my tail clipping through things, least of all capes, I'm just generally not a fan of them aesthetically speaking. It was still annoying to see the Moonward set get rid of my tail completely, like, yeah let's take away one of the defining parts of my race.
