How to consistently survive the second teleporter in Praetorium - any tips?

For me if I'm tank I
Let another player make the first pull, preferably the other tank but it really doesn't matter

After clearing the first pack of required mobs,
I sprint which should be 20 seconds for not being in combat with the first group

I use provoke on the last pack of mobs, near the teleporter, then proc arms length

I unsheathed and run towards the teleporter, WAIT for one of more wave of hits from the enemies, and then click through

I pop a potion after I reach the other side to ensure I have an enmity lead for all mobs, in case a healer was generous enough to cast a regen on me

That way, no sacrifice is needed if everyone knows to just run on through

If you follow the above steps it should be possible with a DPS, even

If you're playing WHM the really easy way to go through is just simply cast HOLY on the pack near the teleporter lol

Any other tips for people that run prae regularly?

All caster DPS now have Sleep, which is aoe. Strongly encourage any RDM, BLM, or SMN to cast it before teleporting.

If you're playing on keyboard you don't have to do anything other than pop sprint and then quickly numlock 0 though

Or ppl could just spend the 20 seconds or so needed to kill everything at the teleporter because we're all horrendously overgeared anyway. :P

I mean you're already watching a half hour of cutscenes. The time spent killing everything pulled to that spot is negligible.

Run through while someone else stays behind to get killed. They'll get ported into the boss and skip it all anyway.

When I was leveling my WHM, I would wait for everyone to get through then Holy stun everything and click. Never lost a soul doing it that way.

The problem I have when I tank that is if people would let the tank pull and not do ANYTHING ELSE.. it'd be easy. Go get aggro, pop sprint, run a loop so stuff all gets away from the telepoint, maybe pop an invuln or mitigation, go back, clicky and done.


Nope. People dropping regens, other tank grabbing some of the stuff I've already grabbed. DPS running ahead and making things run ahead of me as well.

At this point unless people let me tank.. I don't even bother. They wanna die? go for it. We can do the boss with the 3 people that make it and they can teleport in.


It's all up to the rest of the party and while I wouldn't mine AOE-ing the pack.. everyone just runs, so so do I.

This happens on JP, it takes like... 5 seconds of aoe and it astonishes me people are actually lazy enough to skip it

This mostly, WHM stun. Otherwise Ill just take one for the team and wait for the boss room teleport.

Run and put away your weapon.
So your character does not have to do the animation to put the weapon away before using the teleport.

If you're on tank: pull mobs with your ranged attack, wait for them to come to you (pop a CD if you want), then pop sprint and run to the teleporter, spam to teleport. The mobs are slow as fuck, just let them come to you while youre standing at a distance and then sprint to porter. If someone else pulls aggro that's on them, just let them die. You're there to tank, not to esuna idiocy.

Or just use Hallowed Ground if youre on PLD.

Or just die, it's not like it matters tbh.

in 3 years playing this game I never saw any group doing that on primal :(

I really wish they would on NA. It's not even 10 seconds to get those, and it's nice for any sprout's XP.
Also, for Nero, not to pull him into the electric crud but fight him in the middle.

Both of these mechanics - the dash, and the electric Nero - are bypasses from 2013.

Since only bosses give exp more stuff gets skipped.
