You didn't make an offering to Q, Goddess of the Login Line.
I have to admit the log in queues are getting a bit frustrating. I can only log in on rare days I have a morning free. Between that and a lack of houses my SO and I might just have to find something else to play until SE can get it together.
Seems like they(SE) would have fixed this before now. Every expansion there has been log in issues not to mention housing shortages. They have such a great product but seem unwilling in my opinion to invest in it. I'm talking pre-pandemic.
Housing expansion is coming in 6.1, they've said this many times in the Live Letters.
In regards to the queue lines, they've done literally all they can right now. They are waiting on server hardware, have attempted and fixed many of the bugs with the log in servers, etc. The only other way the queue will go down now, until the new server hardware becomes available, is if we see a decrease in the population attempting to queue.
I had the queue jump up on me twice this week. From a 900 queue, down to 201 and then back up to 1400. Looks like it’s still doing the 2002 but now it auto reconnects.
The 2002 error doesn't come from only one source. It can happen due to connection issues on either the player's end or SE's. SE can only fix issues relating to their own hardware and software. They can do nothing about connectivity issues from a player's gaming rig or internet connection. So the 2002 error can still occur, just no longer from the specific issue from a bug that SE fixed with the latest patch.
Happend again just now. Went from like 4000 4 hours ago, all the way down to around 300. Then it reset all the way back to 3300. Wtf.
I'm not afk. I'm sitting here playing the character select screen. The thing is, I have a few functions, cancel, a second cancel button, and a moveable box.
But if I move the box, it moves back soon after, so I generally don't move the box.
Well glad to see the 300 places I needed I moved forward, so I should be in now. Why am I still playing the character select screen.
So why do I have to wait twice? =/
One of my settings is to reduce the frame rate when the client is inactive. I put the game client inactive during the character select because it creates less heat while I'm doing nothing but waiting in line.
Its now been 25 days since early release and I've only played 2 hours total. I haven't been able to connect at all after I was booted from the game. Que times are a nightmare and I've cancelled my sub over this nonsense. I'll maybe enjoy FF next year if I even care to return. Good luck to you if you manage to ever get into the game.
That hardly seems like a fair assessment. I'm playing on what was a pretty packed server at the time, and there were no login queues there (at any point of the day) during the Shadowbringers launch. While there were heavy queues for Heavensward and Stormblood, the lack of queues for Shadowbringers shows they had taken steps over time to address the issue. There was no way to predict the surge in population that occurred this past year, and all of the problems that came with it have understandably made it difficult for them to correct further.
We haven't been charged a subscription fee for most of December. I'm not sure what more we can expect for the time being. Many players already have multiple classes at the new level cap, so it's not like it's been impossible to get on.
Well game booted me to title screen and put me in queue. Happy year of the miqo'te.

It changed 1,794.
If you keep getting reset and booted from queues and or servers, I would highly suggest you get someone in the know to check your connection to the servers. I've checked around and every time my friends and I have had issues it's always been on our end and not with SE. You might need to reroute your traffic around specific nodes. Not ideal and preferably something your ISP should fix. But ISPs are notorious for not giving 2 Fs, so pretty much on your own.
You know the 1.0 spaghetti code debt is a myth right? 2.0 was rebuilt from ground up with a new engine. You know this right? Many occasions they have expressed they don’t have any technical debt. And the only thing holding the game back was the RAM limitations of the PS3 era.
No issue for me. Anyway, its new year. Almost everyone came back from holidays and playing. Happy new year!
