Easy mode for ppl with mental and/or physical problems .

I know some who has mental and physical problems who loves this game but its hard for him to play.

Infront of some macros for some sort of "auto aim"

You're a good friend for helping your friend play the game easier. :eek:

Most of your macros are badly ordered because you have a whole lot of oGCD actions before GCD actions. When making macros like these you should order your actions like this:

1. Context-specific GCD actions, in order of priority
2. One single melee range always-available GCD action
3. Always-available GCD actions with different ranges, in order of range, shortest range first
4. One single full range (30y/25y) always-available GCD action
5. Context-specific oGCD actions, in order of priority
6. Non-context specific oGCD actions, in order of priority (mix with (5) if appropriate)

If you put oGCDs before the GCD actions, you will always delay your GCD if an oGCD is available, and if seven happen to be available, you'll delay your next GCD by almost 7 seconds. If you put the oGCD actions farther down, your GCDs won't drift as much. The GCD actions sorted by range will allow you to use a melee action or ranged action by being at the right range.

Generally speaking you can't put an entire combo into one button because it will always use the first GCD action every time you press the button. The Cartridge combo is different because each step is actually the same one action and no two steps are ever available at the same time. For a normal melee combo you would still need raw1, raw2, macro3; or macro1, raw2, raw3 to do a three step combo.

He plays with me and my group or with squadrons and trusts. i know this system i made is not optimal but we dont mind, and testing this out in some roullete parses i found out that sometimes this system still gets top 2

I think your friend should opt for a White Mage if he is macro-reliant.


Reason: As a healer, WHM has zero combo and is the easiest-to-play healer class. For DPS, like other healers, it is just spam this button, then press other button every 18/30s, make it easy to macro. For healing, its skills are straight-forward and regen-focus heal skills that fill the HP bar when someone's HP drops to danger zone and pretty much nothing else.


Obviously, using macro will make your DPS sub-optimal, but better than being able to play the game at all.


For the macro, note that you don't need to change the macro if skill name changes from Dia to Aero II or the like cuz of level-sync, as the game will figure that out itself. It goes like this:


DPS:

/merror off (can be put away to save space)
/ac "Aero" <wait.3>
(It must be wait.3 cuz the game's macro doesn't support x.y time format)

/ac "Stone" <wait.3>
(spam the Stone Line still the second-last line)

Since cast time is 1.5s now, you can slide-cast easier and become a bit more mobile and easy to weave in Assize without worry about skipping a cast. For the /micon, it is up to you if you want to give up a line or not.



For AoE: change "Stone" into "Holy". Note that cast time is still 2.5s, so any movement will likely skip a cast.


A tank that is macro-easy is Warrior. Since their offensive skills lean toward gcd more than other classes. For DPS, it is Reaper, as I feel it plays like a DPS Warrior which is also focus on gcd, though a bit more weaving than Warrior.

There are a decent amount of ways for people with disabilities to play this game without using a third party application. For example, the Azeron keypad has enough buttons on its own to allow for one handed play, in the case of someone who has lost an arm.

Your heart is definitely in the right place, but I would hate for your friend to get banned because they ran afoul of TOS.

Have you actually test these macro to see if they actually work because I don't think they will. With no delay accounting for the GCD only the first ability will fire correctly and everything else will just be broken.

I disagree with you, Momo. White mage is easy to heal with and to deal damage with on mobs. But, a DoT and damage spell doesn't work well as a simple two action macro.

Your macro would end up having Kriss's friend clipping Aero immediately after the first Stone is cast and thereafter. However, I may be overthinking this. Doing less damage might not matter to the group.

we dont care about his dps. he can auto attack for all we care. yes sometimes there is a random person in our daily. so that person might not realy like it. bet him and a random other being the DPS we found out using a Parse thing to see the dps everyone dous. and even with his one button macro combat he dous most dps sometimes.

So its safe to say that this setup aint that bad for normal content. and to come back at what PredatoryCatgirl said. he plays on a controller.

I love how ppl try to help tho. XIV community is one of the best out there

I think that's why the third party app OP listed is needed, to handle the combo changes.

Generally I am against third party apps, but there are always outliers where they are invaluable tools that mean the difference between playing or not playing, in those cases I try to be like Sgt Schultz and know nothing.

Be careful, is the only advice I can offer the OP. Don't make it too public so that attention doesn't focus on your friend. Fly under the radar and definitely don't post about it on the forums. It would be terrible to make it known, a million people do it, and SE come down hard and ban your friend.

Thats why i dont say his name. He dous not harm anyone using the addon. at best he has higher dps at worst the dungeon takes 2min longer

Foot pedals are also great for some players.

As far as the dps loss..kupo..in most duty finder if the dps is actually pressing buttons they are doing more dps than some I have seen kupo. Everybody can enjoy the game!

The combo macros with the delay are fine if you are not trying to max dmg and unless savage you really are looking at a very minor difference in time (but that can be relative.) Few seconds will only make the most anxious say something kupo lol

I have seen people do fine in normal dungeons going ice mage (blm) shooting nothing but blizzard III and Freeze with cc's added in etc.. They do fine for the most part.

It really is about surviving and moving..zero dps if you are laying there flat on your weapon kupo hehe.

So don't stress and kupo for helping a friend! <3 kupo

I've been telling my friend about needing this for the last 5 years.

I've played this game since 1.0. Up until 2017 I was great. However I was diagnosed with brain cancer and have had 4 brain surgeries now. After the first one, my processing speed went down. After second my hand eye coordination, after the third I became forgetful (like dory from finding nemo just not as bad. After my last one a month ago, my vision is wonky for lack of a better word.

I used to do the high end savage raids and stuff but now however I just can't because there is so much movement that d70% of the time I don't even see the aoe's! I die often but I still enjoy it.

Even something akin to pvp would be helpful. For now I finished the story but I'm sticking to crafting and gathering for now.

Well the problem for me is I cant see all of the screen anymore. If I'm looking at my character, I can't see anything outside of a 2 inch circle. The rest is blurry, if I'm looking at hotbar i can't see the character. Even reading is tough, as I only see 3-4 letters at a time

I'm nearly blind. I make do. I also understand I have my own limits. If I can't do something, I accept it and move on.

If you play with a controller you dont need to see your hotbar you have a Max of 4 buttons to spam. 1st for single target . 2d for AOE . 3th Tank buffs . 4th self heal . you could place the hotbar smack center on your character to to see it better.

FFXIV will never scan your computer for what's on it. Unless they state in game they were using addons, they won't run into any issues. Even then, only if someone actually does report them. Rather than having to buy specific hardware that may not work depending on the disability, a software solution tends to be more customizable and affordable.

Kudos to everyone working together here to make the game more playable for everyone. +1 all around for being good humans, folks.

My son has autism. Hes only 5, but so far it seems to be pretty severe. Still, id love to play games with him someday. The rough part is anything square does to help someone disabled would be immediately picked up by the general population if it was drastically easier. Maybe ill look into some of these solutions when hes older =)

I have 4 children with autism, 3 are grown up.

My 14 year old daughter was non verbal and needed special needs schooling from the age of 5. I made her lots of pictures for all of the things in her life and stuck them to things like the cupboard, tv and held her hand to point at things.. with time she began to speak. It turned out she'd been able to read and lip read even though she couldn't talk. She just started reading fluently one day!

She's now prepping for her exams and is a Maths genius.. she wants to be an accountant. She will always need a carer becuase she can be very vulnerable, but she amazing and has come so far.

I dont use this. worked this out for someone i know wo has a hard time playing. he dousnt play the hard stuff. and if he wants items from the hard content we log into his account and farm it for him
