Meaning you can buy Grand Company gear not from your own. For higher prices obviously since it's not like they can steal it all easily.
Just a thought I had.
Though I can see more seasonal event items be available like the Patriot's Choker was.

I hope not, I like the sense of comradery I get when I see other people in Storm gear that GC gear gives me.
However, I would like it if stats on GC items were more... balanced between nations. Just give us more gear options, I'm in the Maelstrom but some of that Serpent gear looks tasty. If I had the option to chose a Tabard with +attack or -enmity, but have it look like a Storm Tabard because I bought it from the Maelstrom, that would be cool.
It would make sense, the GCs are essentially in competition with each other and the QIQI can sale wares from either GCs given how once again they seem to be after the clink clink.
it would be insane amounts of gil or seal if they did do that.
Yeah.. no
GC item should only be buyable using GC currency, since no one till this moment able to RMT GC seals
edit
kinda forgot that those pestilence also accept seals. do they?
Yes, the Black Market NPCs will also accept seals at a rate of 1% of the gil price (if something costs 400k gil, it costs 4k seals).
Personally, I'm fine with the way it is, but I'd also be fine if they changed it.
If they don't ever let us change companies I can see them doing that.
Works two ways. Gil sink for the people without the commitment to farm seals and
give a way to get gear from companies other then our own.
They should. Just make ppl pay alot more and remove the ability to buy with gil.
In your Company 5.6k for a pieces, outside your company 18k.
No disadvantage for choosing a company that way. Just makes you work harder to get all the pieces.
I doubt it, the closest we'll get is when the Companies unite under one flag to deal with the terror, odds are we'll have something like "The Order of Eorzea" in the next update which is a grand company composed of all 3 GC that may offer gear stats that we might not normally be able to get from our own GC.
Sure I'm assuming but odds are the Grand Companies will unite under one flag(temporarily) since everything seems to be coming down to the city-states to work together to deal with the Empire threat.
I hope they do because this whole 1 company restriction crap is OLD
I agree. Let us take a look at two items quickly.
The first
"Flame Sergeant's Choker"
Magic Attack Potency +20
Fantastic piece of armour, for those who are in Ul'dah. Me? I'm in Gridania. The highest neck piece I can get in the game is Magic Attack Potency +10, the "Serpent Sergeant's Choker" gives Attack Power +27; is this fair for players who can't obtain it? Not at all.
So I'm screwed out of 10 Magic Attack Potency because I was told "Agree with the company who's ethos agrees with yours". Hell; it's only a neckpiece. But wait there is more:
Ring:
"Storm Sergeant's Ring"
Attack Magic Potency +10
The only other ring in the game to give Attack Magic Potency is the Mage's Ring. Which at the time of writing is worth anywhere between 400,000 and 700,000 gil. Not to worry. I'm with Gridania, surely I'll have something fairly decent? I mean "Flame Sergeant's Ring" also gets Attack Power +10. So I /must/ have something comparably good.
"Serpent Sergeant's Ring"
HP+35.
Oh...
So is my idea a good idea or best idea?
Kind of related question...but not really; I just didn't want to create a whole new thread for this.
Do the bonuses from GC gear sets apply to older GC gear items?
For instance: Will a Flame Sergeant's Sash count as one of 3 Flame gear?
I ask because only the newer items released have the bonuses on them, but the requirement is "flame gear" only.
