Labyrinthos music after main quest Lv.88 Going Underground (SPOILER....may be)

I'm not sure if this is a bug or design choice but after Alphinaud finish calling the Linkshell, the 'intense' background music keep playing after the cutscene by no short amount. It become the new permanent BGM of Labyrinthos area.

Now I know according to the story you are in a rush to get the ark off the ground but isn't using this music for the rest of the game is overkilling it?

I know I can turn off BGM audio but I don't want to miss listening to the music during side quests, not to mention I really like the original music of this area, the night version was very relaxing to listen to.

I like Ultima Thule depressing music (right ater arriving) but they get rid of it and deleted video on youtube with copyrights claims.

It's not permanent, it goes back to normal after finishing 6.0.
Ultima Thule's, on the other hand...

During the MSQ, adding the lyrics to the song added to the hype, but post MSQ keeping that song choice was so distracting that I could only stomach a minute before muting the Ultima Thule zone bgm. Out of place and looping lyrics.

Yeah the second part of Labyrinthos was brutal. I spent there a considerable amount of time doing all the side quests and everything and having that 30 second music loop just going on all the time was slowly driving me insane.

I love this version. I was looking to listen to it this morning but indeed saw it gone because of the copyright claim.

Fairly sure (as others have pointed out) that's by design. In Shadowbringers, the Kholusia zone music changed to (if I remember right) High Treason between fixing the lift and heading into the level 89 dungeon; in Endwalker, for a certain chunk of the MSQ the Labyrinthos theme changes to... uh, my pre-coffee brain wants to say Return of the Hero, but don't hold me to that.

To be fair, the regular Labyrinthos theme drives me insane just the same.

Aw, I love the demented music box vibe of the Labyrinthos theme. But then the only BMG I actively dislike is all variations on Neath Dark Waters -I was immensely relieved that particular theme only showed up in one small part of one zone because I just cannot stand to listen to a note of it- and the aforementioned out-of-place change to the 6th zone.

That music shift in Labyrinthos was nearly unbearable to me and it was so weird to have it playing in the background while you're doing really dire things like showing a bunny oranges and lemons.

I thought it was bugged as well because it didn't seem to fit what was happening on screen at all, beyond the bit when/why the music shift started of course. I never really turn the bgm off but I did for a while during this part because hearing it on a loop got on my nerves.

Thankfully it went back to the normal music afterwards.

Unfortunately it does appear that SQ is run by suits that fails to understand the free advertising they get by adding soundtracks to youtube...

If it has no gameplay 95% the music gonna get deleted off of youtube due to copyright.

Saw a music video made with gameplay and it too was yeeted off YouTube.

So this overly loud music will stay in Labyrinthos until I finish the MSQ entirely? That's disappointing. It is extremely loud and distracting and grating, not to mention wholly inappropriate for the kinds of things you are doing. This is the kind of music that belongs in a cutscene, or maybe a fight, not as semi-permanent area background music while you help bunnies taste grapes and oranges. I had actually thought it might be a bug, too, so ill-fitting is it.

I actually had a similar issue earlier in Garlemald. I had planned to do some side questing before finishing off the zone, as I have been doing, but as soon as I picked up the next main quest this loud music began to play incessantly throughout the area, so I had no choice but to continue the MSQ as quickly as possible just to be rid of the music, so I could do my side questing in peace. Needless to say I won't be doing any more side quests in Labyrinthos, either.

Honestly, for the first time in the six years I've been playing this game I might actually turn the music off entirely. This is that bad.

I liked that first version, really kept the tension high after Meteion's disturbing antics onboard the ship and Thancred's disappearance. Not to mention slowly realizing that you're on a copy of Midgardsormr's old home surrounded by the memories of dragons that have given up any hope of a better life.

They did this last expansion with the Eulmore overworld area. I think they had to patch it out at some point. However this was not the case in Labyrinthos, it went back to normal after i finished the MSQ

I get that the track is meant to induce a sense of urgency, but damn if it didn't go on faaaaarrrr too long.

That music definitely played too long. Should have ended with the cutscene it starts in. Especially weird because they make a bunch of sidequests available, a lot of them relatively mundane, so the change in music doesn't fit well. I was glad the Labyrinthos music changed back after the MSQ was over.

I hope it is just a bug or oversight that will be resolved.

They don't need "free advertising" for their music lol... They're not an indie garage band but they are a small indie company. ;P

this is a gripe I'll actually sign on to. Fast action paced short-looped music over and over while I take bunnies to eat lemons, and help move crates... I had to turn the BGM off, it was literally making me miserable.

I completely agree. I turned off this BGM during this part and found it much more enjoyable. In general, I wish that the BGM wouldn't constantly loop in any given zone but play only periodically with lulls of silence in between. If they would at least give us an option for something like this, then it would make the audio experience much more enjoyable.

I like the music but having it play constantly is a bit much. Especially since it kind of doesn't feel fitting? I'm only a few quests in but the tone of the music and the tone of the story just aren't quite matching up for me right now lol

You know I can actually say I was so focused I didn’t even notice the music had stayed in the background in Labyrinthos. I did notice the lyrics remain in Ultima Thule and I love it.

That song was driving me insane.

Yes this, too. I have been doing side quests throughout the story as I unlocked them, to help immerse myself in the area and get to know the people there (and level a second job alongside my main), but in this latter part of Labyrinthos I had to abandon that, because the loud, wild music means I cannot focus on the slower paced story beats of those side quests.

Good to know that i wasn't the only one going crazy over this bgm...it's really weird doing all the silly sidequests for the little bunnies like looking at forking grapes and in the background the bgm of doom plays...idk...just felt completely in the wrong place...this sense of urgency through the music and then we do some fetchquests and therapy sessions and look at food...was really really weird.
