Ninja: I have genuine questions to the Dev team

With all due respect to Yoshi-P and all the FFXIV dev. team, I have to say this:

You messed up my main job so bad, that I had to swap to a new job, when I really don't want to. Thanks, Yoshida-san!

I'm so confused that I have to ask some questions:

Did anyone on the Dev team clear the EW 6.0 content, on Ninja, and thought it was " good "?!

What were you thinking when you introduced Raiju weaponskills?! No, really, what were you thinking?! How is spamming 1 button, 6 times in a row, fun?! Not only 6 times in a row, but 6 times in a row with a CD in between each press, too!

Why give stacks of Raiju Ready buff if you want us to use it immediately anyway?! It's so illogical! Imagine if BLM's Lay Lines needed you to only spam one 2.12s cast spell inside of it, otherwise, it will disappear. Any press of any other button, even while being outside of it, and it disappears. And, you can only move out of Lay Lines 3 times before it despawns. And, the only way to re-enter it, is to dash to it. It doesn't sound fun, doesn't it?! Well, that's how both Raiju feel, except in this example, the lay lines can only be placed in melee range of your target.

And to add salt to injury, Huton is 60 sec duration, now?! Why? After all that spam-fest of 1 button, I can barely do 1 or 2 " 123 " combos before refreshing Huton and repeat Raiju-spam again, anyway... And, NO, the Huraijin weaponskill doesn't fix this! It's not like NIN is doing so much damage that it requires the introduction of another weaponskill, with low potency, that reapplies Huton! The synergies between NIN Abilities and Weaponskills is so all over the place!

You took away 1 GCD (Shadow Fang), you gave literally ZERO new oGCDs, but added 4 more GCDs (2x Raiju + Phaton Kamaitachi + Huraijin), but for some reason that meant Huton's duration had to be lowered, all because Huraijin now exists?

Why not make Raiju and Huraijin (GCDs) into abilities (oGCDs), and lower their potencies, at least? You wanted to help us recover from down time or dropping Huton? that would be a way better option.

Why not only add ONE Raiju and make it a Kassatsu enhacement of Raiton, if you really want it to be in some way related to raiton (because... lightning, I guess...)?

Why make NIN so boring to play with these Raijus that literally make me feel I'm doing a slow Active Time Maneuver each time I spam them, back to back, because I have to?

And I didn't even touch on the times that I have to go out of melee range of bosses and STAY away, with Raiju stacks that I can't use anyway, because I'll die if I dash back to the boss who's doing AoE mechanics!

I genuinely want to know the reasoning behind all of this!

NOTE: I know I already made a thread about NIN before, but I had questions that needed to be asked. Sorry for the repetition.

I have to agree. You have two charges on Ninjutsu, so you've nearly a full 40 seconds to find room for the uninterrupted Raijuu combo. If you, say, Raiton just before a "death to melee" mechanic... isn't that on you?

That said, I do find NIN overly bare atm, mostly in its 1-2-3 spam (1-2-4 only twice per averaged minute). I'd love to have seen Shadowfang returned to the rotation... and am still confused by why Aeolian Edge, essentially "Edge of the Wind God", isn't the one that extends Huton.

Why not give us back the full slew of rotationals? Give me back Dancing Edge, now as our filler, Aeolian as our twice-per-minute, Armor Crush as a 2-step damage window opener, perhaps, and Shadowfang as a two-step DoT that I could enjoy spreading on fights like Tower of Zot's final boss fight, etc. (These are obviously spitball examples.)

You could have gotten your point across if you'd put in the effort, but you chose the easy way out. Regrettable.

It's no surprise jobs end up so oversimplified. I've ALREADY seen people complaining about keeping Death's Design up on RPR being too hard for them! If not on the english forums, then on the japanese forums. Like c'mon people, it's barely been a week! At least try to learn the job before you ask for it to be made easier.

Since you're so set on reading intent and emotions, from a post written on the internet, and completely ignoring the actual content of the thread, let me clarify for you, then. In the 3rd line, I clearly stated that I was confused by these changes, and then (meaning after) I asked my questions.

Now, imagine a confused person, who you know nothing about, asking those questions in a state of confusion. If it still looks to you that the person you just imagined is " angry " and just " ranting ", then I can't help you, and you should stop trying to read people's mind and intent on the internet!

I would be pleased if they just made it to where your gcd combo did not interrupt the raiju continuation, or erase the proc in general. I feel like that's all they need to do.
I really don't understand the change from 70 to 60 seconds on huton also.

I'd be fine with this. It'd reduce some decision-making, but I see no issue with NIN straight-up having ridiculous amounts of mobility available to it through Raiton's additional effects.

Yeah just feels bad in mechanic heavy situations.
For example,
"OH hey! I have to disengage from the boss, because there is aoe circles swarming under him! ..but I'm currently doing the raiju 2-6 gap closer GCD spam, and if I do anything else besides throwing knives or ninjustsu, it'll waste my raiju procs completely!"

"So let me just use one of my charges of ninjutsu to disengage and keep uptime, no worries"

"OH no there is more mechanics happening and more aoe circles appearing, and I have 4 GCD GAPCLOSER stacks that I need to do! ..guess I'm going to throwing knives town, or sasuke chidori in and die"

Just seems beyond clunky to me,* idk.

Sadly, the only solutions that come to mind right now --outside of allowing Raijuu not to be interrupted-- that would be worth their time, imo, are rather... large/broad changes.

I knew it. As soon as I got my hands on Reaper and played around with it, I thought to myself, "I just know people are gonna complain about Death's Design". However, I doubt anyone thinks it's, "hard" to keep it up. As far as I know, nobody complains about the damage buff for Dragoon, and that's probably because it's part of one of their combos.

Probably they're just complaining because they keep forgetting to keep it up, being new to the job. I think it's neat, though, since you can stack it up to 60s and the animations are both pretty sick. It's not the most interesting ability, but it's got a place in the kit imo.

Shadow/Whorl of death feels like the shallowest of shallow mechanics outside of "My combo goes to 5 steps!!!" but I do love what it does for high-mob FATE zergs. 10 Reapers Guillotine twice and they've already refunded one or two Guillotine(s)' worth of gauge for the next pack of 10 mobs.

...Of course, such could as easily be a passive/trait for "10 gauge on kill."

Eh, I like it as it is. It looks good and feels good. I like a little bit of jank in my jobs. I'll definitely be curious to see what reaper gets next expac assuming that's happening, though. Could use just a liiiittle something extra on top of what it's already got imo.

I definitely wish there was more to its Gluttony phase than just... using it under raid (de)buffs.

That said, I do feel like it as least has a tiny more sustained action (i.e., outside of burn phases) than does NIN... though that could just be my experience on NIN since ARR (semi-maining it in HW, wherein we had 4 finishers) talking there...

I feel relatively engaged managing my meter, cooldowns and stocks on RPR. More than I expected. I expected maximum casualbait from this job but it's at least a few levels above that. Plus it reminds me of my favorite weapon in another game, and is Void themed and I LOVE the Void stuff in this game. Still wish we had a hub that looked like Dun Scaith.

Just to be clear, what exactly is the "anything else" in this scenario? It's not Spinning Edge, Gust Slash, or Aeolian Edge/Armor Crush because, as you said, you're already being forced to disengage from the boss.
