The mender at bestway burrows is simply called "Mender" why are him and the junkmonger the only ones without the -way naming scheme!

remember this game is from a Japanese company. so they had to put in the traditional one name for a lot of people. just like Officer Jenny and Nurse Joy

Given the insane amount of pop culture references in this game, I'm surprised there isn't at least one vendor / NPC at every village with the same name and a small talk quip somewhere about them all being from the same family.

I know this is a bit of a tongue in cheek thread, but I actually agree it's pretty sad. I ended up tweeting them about it just because why not at least give it a shot. If nothing else, it might give them a chuckle amongst all the likely less than friendly interaction I'm sure they've been getting lately. I mean, the goblins in Idyllshire get their own race specific names why can't the bunnies?

Personally, I suggested Vendingway and Mendingway so they basically match each other.

That doesn't fit with their naming convention of <verb>ingway.

Mendingway and Sellingway/Vendingway fit better.

Holy cow, I actually never noticed that. Yeah that sucks! And its not like they didnt give sellers and menders unique cultural names, the Vanu come to mind with Zundu Sell-It and Zundu Fix-It.
