About, Sage, Summoner, Monk and Reaper...

How are you guys liking the "four" (lol) new job classes so far? While I haven't personally touched Monk and Summoner yet to see how I feel about the changes, so far I've gotten Sage to lvl 80 and I'm having blast! And while I feel Sage is a but unnecessarily too busy in some places I quite like how it feels so far and I think if I reorganize my hot bar a bit more here then to finally get a fee things to mesh better when pressing buttons I think I'll be able to play it perfectly! :3

As for Reaper, I've only gotten it to lvl 72, but it feels quite nice. Applying the debuff/booster skill to an enemy can be kind of annoying at times when I'm on a hacking and slashing roll, and I don't really like how both teleporting forward and backward skills share a cooldown, but other than that it feels really nice to tear enemies apart.


So what is everyone's else's experiences with the 4 job classes so far? :D

only 73 sage but really enjoy it so far. I like busy.
72 reaper but also enjoying it so far.. anything with a dash I like.

I got reaper to 85 and sage to 83, I absolutely love both, the eb and flow of sage with the precast button for insta cast heal and sheer amount of AOE you have is nice its also nice to people able to run around and dodge all the things while insta casting heals to keep your dps who dont dodge alive. I have carried several dungeons just for being able to do this. Its akin to AST lightspeed.

Reaper is VERY dull at 60, semi dull at 70, but once you get two charges and your reaper form it picks up and is quite fun, I am only 85 so I havent even goitten the second shroud (void) yet

Monk has imrpoved so much, the lack of having to dance back and forth every three seconds is nice and now they have a nice builder finisher ontop of rotating their combo chains. I only have it at 80 and did so before endwalker so I havent played it much beyond target dummy fighitng.

Summoner I got to 81 so no AOE skills yet and you REALLY feel it. AoEing outside of bahamut and phoenix before 82 is boring asf, Im not sure if it gets better at 82 so I am just going to put faith in it. One phase I do not like is phoenix going from A->B A->B phase to A->A->A like bahamut was a bit lame. Other than that losing the dots and the fear bahamut will stop attacking mid burst phase is nice.

Got my Sage to 78 today and am loving it. It is lot of fun. Just unlocked reaper have not done anythign with it yet but I am not much into melee classes. Havn't checked out Summoner or Monk yet.

MNK at 87 and it feels a lot slower to play due to lack of stuff to weave. Sure, the Blitz system is better than maintaining GL ever was but losing our oGCD and most of our positionals wasn't worth it.

78 smn and love it. might main it.

Summoner at 90 now, and it just FLOWS SO DAMN NICE.

Love it.

I don't even care if the numbers are good or not, it is just a joy to play.

New Coke SMN just feels beyond awful and since it was my favorite DPS job pre-EW I have zero desire to even log in at this point. I didn't think they could make a healer that felt worse to play than SCH, but they really turned the clunky/over-complicated dial up to 11 on SGE, so I guess if I want to main healer this exp it will exclusively be regen healers. I really don't get it, why play a job that takes 3 buttons presses to do something a WHM/AST can do in 1 or at most 2 actions? MNK is down with BRD in the bottom of the DPS list for me, so any improvements are just lipstick on a pig, I only leveled it for the amaro. And Edgelord just doesn't appeal to me at all. So yeah... pretty much 10lbs of disappointment in a 5lb bag so far. Since Friday I just log on in the morning when the queue is under 100 to send my retainers off, stare dejectedly at my Gearsets and then go do Xmas stuff.

I've not gone far on Sage- only 81, but I like it. I'm looking forward to working her up.

I've decided to main my Summoner though and am close to 87. It's a little more simple than I feel I should it be- but I imagine it'll see some tweaking. Overall, I really enjoy it.

I find Reaper to be wicked enjoyable. Sure, it's not the most complex job around, but it's quite smooth once you've leveled up enough. The debuff we apply is essentially just an on mob version of other jobs damage up buff, with the added bonus of giving us resource on kills, so it was easy enough to learn to apply. The mobility alone with the back and forth warp gates coupled with the free ranged attack has been a godsend during trials, and the upgraded Arcane Crest is bloody fantastic. It feels like they built the job to work purely around using your standard combo as little as possible, and the resource gauge stacks with rolling cooldowns to keep it going without building play well into that.

Communio, while flashy and packing a nice punch, does feel a tiny bit awkward to use when you first hit 90 since suddenly you're ending your Enshrouded period with a cast time instead of a final instant. Other than that, I think the only thing I'd really like to see is an eventual trait to allow us to somehow get a soulsow proc akin to Deep Meditation.

Monk is bad and was pretty painfully designed for people who didn't like or play monk.

Been playing through as Monk, got it at 88.

Took me some time to get used to it, as I WAS used to the old system and now this is new so that took some adjustment.

I love not having to move around so much, I like the sense of building towards your finisher, and in the heat of a boss battle not having to try to remember where I need to be for what positional, while also dealing with the boss mechanics. Maybe it's more simple, but its a lot more fun than it's been in years.

I like sage quite a lot. But something about it puzzles me via the tone of the developers: A lot of the changes that took place in the past was under the guise of "making the job easier to play".. for my experience AST got alot of this. Did I find old AST hard to play? No I really enjoyed how it made me think faster on my feet. It kept me really engaged. I get a lot of the same feelings from Sage. Which I am LOVING but I worry about the what's to come with Sage down the road when they (as they do) rework it later (next expac etc)

I also foresee it being a hot bed for some of our more slow minded adventures to be really bad at the job. (Yes I know that's unavoidable but hopefully I convey my thoughts correctly) A lot like those DRKs in heavensward that zero idea what a lot of their abilities did and how to correctly use it. I'm sure we've all met those kind. The paper doll ones. A few of my old FC mates were guilty of this. I love them but man did they make me want to drink as a healer.

I've been enjoying summoner a lot for leveling and trust dungeons. Very flashy and has a nice flow

I haven't made a whole lot of progress with sage but it's fun from what i've done. Not a huge deviation from the norm, but it's a new healer after all these years and i enjoy healing.

Got my Reaper to 90 yesterday and it is, without a doubt, my favorite dps. It's extremely fun once you get the rotation down.

Though sometimes I go so unga bunga in Enshroud that I forget to hit Communio for the last attack... Probably doesn't help that Communio is level 90 but I'm sure I'll get used to it.

Having fun leveling Sage. I enjoy the Eukrasia mechanic more than I thought I would, and I hope they expand on it in the future.

I want to love the new summoner, but right now it's not my favorite. I actually loved the old rotation so this new one isn't as... fun? )It's definitely flashy but I enjoyed how it worked before. I do think it's mostly just me being resistant to change though so it'll warm up on me.


On the other hand, sage is really enjoyable to me! It's a lot of the things I already liked about ffxiv healing, and it kinda reminds me of the best parts of disc priest from WoW. I enjoy leveling it and look forward to maining it.
