This is broken and I don't know why.
“Savage Claw” is not a valid action name.
“Wicked Talon” is not a valid action name.
Getting those error messages.
But those ARE valid actions right on my action bars. What has broken in FFXIV that this macro is no longer working for me in Endwalker?

please do not actually use this macro, in general. also, continuation is an ogcd so those wait.3s are ruining it even further than it being a macro is ruining the skill
either way, because savage claw and wicked talon are now morphs of gnashing fang, like continuation morphing constantly, pretty sure you'd replace them with gnashing fang? -

I just want to make sure I know how EW changes have affected my classes, and this is one of those changes I'm trying to figure out and work out how to make this class playable for me again so I'm not making a mess of it.

It makes the class playable for me which otherwise would be very difficult with my motor skills loss due to disability.Quote:

I just tested it, and this works. With Continuation being between the GCD, you can execute them sooner. With this, it is still a 3 second wait between the GCDs.
If it matters, Gnashing Fang changed to Savage Claw to Wicked Talon as you do the move, which means it only takes up 2 spaces now. Whether that helps, I do not know. -

Your GCD is 2.5 seconds and lower with skill speed, so every <wait.3> you add is literally throwing away DPS. And now that I know these are oGCD skills, the macro is now even more cringy.Quote:

Fixed it for you. Also note that because it is a gcd you don't want to wait in-between. This macro is just a one button mash. You could also reverse the order and it would still work. This is also low key why I don't like GNB because they made a combo like this. Its like they took PLD's rage of Halone and decided that each hit was a gcd/ocd each and good luck weaving in a defensive during that combo. -

I like the look of the class (again, I'm not a hardcore player/raider) and I play it for fun and on the off chance my friends need me to tank for them and I might not feel in a sword and board type of mood that day. No need for Savage Claw and Wicked Talon since those share the same button as Gnashing Fang now, no need for <t> because you're already targeting the boss to attack anyways which means you already selected your target, and you can turn off error messages if you really want. To turn those off:
Character Configuration > Log Window Settings > Uncheck "Display error messages when actions fail."
Character Configuration > Log Window Settings > Uncheck "Display recast timer error messages."
Character Configuration > Log Window Settings > Open Log Filters > Announcements > Uncheck "Error Messages"
I don't think you need to turn off all three, but I did because the error messages annoy the hell outta me. Anyways, yeah, simple three line macro up above works, tested it myself, I just recommend mashing the macro to make sure that Continuation goes off. Or use the one Mikey_R posted which will take a bit longer to execute because of the <wait> commands but involves zero mashing. Whatever works best for you. -

Honestly, the biggest issue here is using combat macros in this manner, in the first place, there's no tangible benefit in using them, you are literally only required to press two button to execute Gnashing combo and Continuation, it is extremely simple to do. It is also detrimental to use macros for combat outside of certain targetting macros for the likes of Shirk, or ST mitigation, like Intervention, Heart of Corundum, etc, due to the fact that, macros can only operate in seconds, not milliseconds, using wait timer macros are a significant DPS loss over the course of a fight. Further you lose agency over your rotation by using these kind of macros, if a boss jumps for instance or have a forced disengagement, you macro will continue, and you will end up having to manually press you buttons, or else just waste a load more DPS by ignoring that you haven't completed your combo, and return to the rest of your rotation after Wicked Talon.

I know it's not the perfect way to play the class, but I'm not seeking absolute perfection, just a system that is functional for me with my loss of motor skills. Thank you to everyone who's been helpful here without putting me down. I appreciate the kindness. As a disabled player, I seek ways to make the game more playable/accessible for myself and using macros like this is one method I use. I know it's not the optimal solution and likely not something I'd ever try if I wanted to attempt end game raiding (an aspect of the game I've not been interested in; did that hard core in World of Warcraft and that was GRUELING even before I became disabled).

But, honestly, that would be up to Zhalar to figure out. All they asked for was clarification on the naming scheme for GNB abilities. Everyone else zoned on the wait parts and the bad DPS which Zhalar really did not deserve. (Not directed at you specifically.)
As a side note:
Zhalar, you might find this happens with other jobs too because of Endwalker. A bunch of jobs now have condensed buttons that all now use the base action (the first one you learn) and just replace it. So, if this happens again I would recommend figuring out what the first action is in the chain for the combo or later learned action is. RDM, SMN and PLD all come to mind immediately as examples. -

Just for add some constructive idea, since you have issues with keyboard and mouse for being disabled why don't you try playing it with controller, you might find less issues than using the keyboard

Will you people just chill tf out with the macro whining. if someone wants to use a macro it is on them for whatever reasons they have, you are not owed an explanation. When playing a class perfectly, it is a dps loss. that is true. But it can still be a huge dps gain vs playing the class straight wrong and not using some skills. Keep your elitist nonsense in savage content.
