Only 15 minutes? I've had ~30 minutes multiple times only to get kicked out with 2002. I don't mind being in queue and waiting for my turn, but having to LOGIN again and again is just not acceptable. The 7 days is nice, but when it's your day off (Sunday here) its a tad annoying when you try to play for 3 hours w/o success.
Hope they fix this soon - launch is in 2 days and then what is going to happen.
Last night, after over an hour, I finally hit number 1 in the queue... just to get the 2002 error! Logged back in and I'm back in the 4,000s!!!
"I want to die, and take everyone with me!"
Found Fandaniel's account.
It's kinda right tho, at the moment the only people who can reliably play are the people with no life who wake up at stupid o'clock and play all day without having anything else to do, and while that sounds depressing as hell its kinda unfair to people who just want to play in between doing actual real life stuff like seeing family and friends
Ah yes the realm reborn. We already use this card chief.
Considering people can get away with being logged in and AFK'ing while doing things like talking to a retainer, I would garner that a reset would be good for the ques.
If people are still able to exploit the afk timer that way. Congestion is expected, but if people are holding spots on the server and not actually playing, im all for a reset.
This is nothing, arr launch you couldn't even queue for more then 20-30 seconds without a random error. R E L A X
Resetting the server at 4AM wouldn't fix anything, because the hard queue has gone away by then. I had a soft queue of 19 at 6:30 AM this morning. I was let in 30 seconds later.
However, by 11AM, it was a hard queue of 250, and that took about 10 minutes to resolve.
By 6PM tonight, we know it will be at least 4000+ - and it is because people are not afking so much as literally playing nonstop because they know the second they leave, they're not coming back.
(AFK methods known to be disabled include: Running into the wall, HUD layout, retainer bell, housing menu, etc. I have personally tested one of those and confirmed, the others are reported by other people. I've no doubt there are some other afk workarounds out there but they'd require a third party app at this point.)
Nothing. It will be the same. The only thing that launches officially for everyone is EW and so those that didn't preorder and buy it on launch instead will have access to EW areas. If they've been logging in and playing (or, well, trying to play) nothing has actually changed because they've still been in queue with the rest of us who had access to EW stuff early from preordering, and they're still doing stuff in game. Literally nothing will change except an uptick in players in EW areas.
logged on in the morning where the queue was 30 people. You just need to log on when it is not prime time.
They should do a maintenance and reset them. They would free up the spaces bots, gold sellers and afk players is taking up.
Oddly, weird as people think this request is. They have done this in the past. So they may do this for EU servers at the very least.
Back during Stormblood, you'd get a one hour warning that servers were going to reboot, thus everyone was put back into a queue once more. This was on the Japan servers at least.

damn only 15 minutes.....why not try and click on the game everyonce in a while. Its meant I can stay in the queue for hours at a time.
(Also, its roughly 2000 places for every hour or so)
Retainer method no longer works most stuff doesn't as of 6.0
However other methods exist
In all likelihood, yeah, it'll reach this point if congestion remains over the next couple of days. As was pointed out, it's not unprecedented.
I agree with you!
People with this mentality drive me nuts. There are many people (like myself) who can't even GET into the queue let alone in the game for the past 24 hours. There are people being selfish using 3rd party tools to stay afk and not log out which prevents others from playing a game they are also paying for. Server resets would help the congestion for the afkers who are clogging up the servers.
So I would like to address my own anecdotal information regarding what you think people are getting away with.
I am a glutton for punishment, crafting in MMO is probably the cause, so I tried to do some of the things that before the release would allow you to stay afk for hours, days, even weeks if there was no server issue and this is what happened:
1. Talking to a Retainer/NPC - Automatically booted after 30 mins afk.
2. Using the HUD system - Again Automatically booted after 30 mins afk.
3. Doing the Manderville - Again Automatically booted after 30 mins afk.
However, yesterday I was able to by pass this afk timer 2 times. How I was able to do this was once I was finally in, I would go visit another world because the prices on current server was insane 5000% markups, oh hell no, "Diabolos" check the spelling on that, and I would be force stuck in the queue to move to that world. I could not do any trades, couldn't teleport anywhere, I was basically stuck. So, I thought how do I get
out of this insane queue within the game. Ahh, yes AFK timer will force me out. Sadly, that was not the case and I was afk for the whole time it took me to be transported. How long that was I have no idea but it was longer than it took me to watch the Matrix Reloaded, so two plus hours?
