They warned us a few weeks ago, if you didn't want to pay for game time through this period you could have stopped your sub.
I logged in today at 9:30am server time and had a queue of 50. No problems at all.
Is this your first MMO launch?
Maybe not their first FFXIV expansion launch, as MMOs like WoW have done refunds and free playtime additions in the past for when their expansion launches sucked (their expansions on the other hand...).
While I wouldn't be opposed to the extra playtime, I'd just rather see the problem solved before we think about any form of compensation.
Retry now and enjoy get kick out of a 4500 people queue every 30 min and have to start all over again
It's not my first and MMO and I had other experience of mmo expending the account time cause they had server trouble as compensation.
I dont think returning funds is realistically possible. Though returning the playtime we've paid for but couldn't use would be great.
Lot of people are saying "What? Did you expect to actually use the service? Dont you know its an MMO launch" but that aint exactly a mindset I like, very anti-consumer. The problem was foreseeable, and the seminconductor shortage is understandable, but that doesn't mean it isn't a problem that people cannot use the service they paid money for.
Raging against it is unhealthy, it's best to chill and wait, BUT it'd also be nice on the whole consumer-company relationship to get a tangible response beyond a simple apology. Especially since we already dealt with the problems of the delay.
IF they decided to compensate (and I have no idea if they ever do or not) I wouldn't expect anything until all of the mess is settled. That way they know just how much to compensate and to who.
Play the queue game!
or maybe JUST maybe go to a less crowded world ?
right click on character selection > travel to another world (within same datacenter)
your welcome
thats how i bypassed queue
it is 50 cents per day folks.
I've been trying to login since noon today. I started at 2985 in the queue. Got down to 352 in the queue after waiting over 2 hours then I was kicked off due to 2002 error. For the next hour or so every attempt gave me a 3001 error game is full try again later. i finally managed to get back in the queue at about 1980 then kicked out again with 2002 when I was about 150 in queue. Logged back in now I'm at 6100 in the queue. Just about the same experience yesterday but I did get some game time in. This makes no sense. I'm watching streamers stream all day on high pop data centers, how are they able to beat these crazy queue times? I can't even finish shadowbringers so I can start endwalker content. I hope they do something
No.
Why should they?
The loss is relative to how much you can play. If one can play everyday then very little is lost if missed 1 day but if one can play once or twice a week then its a much bigger impact.
Oh I know that well. I played WoW for more than a decade. I never thought blanket compensation was good. So Bliz gave us a day of time now and then. What if the fubar goes a month? We would still get that one day. Better to wait until it is over and figure out a more equitable solution.
bad launch ? hmm, im not really sure about that, endwalker has the highest player count so far, and there are huge influx of player coming to ff14, so bad launch really depends where you stand to say this
as for server queue, im not in a NA server, but here in japan, day one it was the same, had login queue counting in the 5 digits, then i figured i could "move" between server (same datacenter),
i just checked which server was newest, and voila, queue reduced to 400 during launch day !
issue is "most" (most not all ofc) dont even bother try to quick fix, because while older server are heavily overcrowded, other server are just ... fine,
a quick google search show that most active NA server (gilgamesh) is at active 14.457 players in december 2021, while malboro is at 9.348, just saying ...
we are talking nearly 5K players difference ... thats not small number
This is getting pretty frustrating for sure. I was able to play early in the morning for a couple of hours. After lunch I haven't even been able to login. Queues would be acceptable if I could actually stay in queue. I keep getting disconnected by the server error 2002 and unable to make it back into the queue fast enough to keep my place in line. I have been trying to log back into the game continuously for several hours now. Maybe I'll get lucky and I can play an hour or two before bed....
If they don't fix the problem I read they can be sued for breaking there contract. Because your paying a sub which is a service charge like have on streaming networks. Makes it very hard for one like me that work 11 hour days and only get maybe 3 hours a day to play.
I have come home from work to a four hour queue, almost in and booted again. I can't play today because the time I MIGHT get to log in, I will have to get offline to go to work tomorrow.
Thank you Square Enix for not taking the proper steps to prevent this issue!!!
The other world servers, people are getting on just fine, but not North America!
What a bunch of shit! Especially after their director puts on a show of tears. Give me a break! Everyone paid good money to play this game, and we were given some bullshit about how two weeks were desperately needed to ensure a smooth launch. What a bunch of good that did them.
Might as well have released the game on schedule instead of subjecting everyone to false promises of a decent launch. What a shit expansion!
I think a week of sub time extension would be a very generous decision but I dont see it happening.
If they gave everyone a couple days or even a week freebie sub to make up for this, I’d really appreciate it. A little compromise would be lovely.
I understand the circumstances on their behalf & I’m sure the developers aren’t exactly pleased with how things are going with the launch, it’s a lovely expansion but it’s such a rocky launch.
Realistically we’re paying for a service that we can barely access at the moment; so what are we actually paying for? To sit in a que for hours staring at a screen & end up playing 1-2 hours a day. I don’t have as much free time as everyone else & my availability unfortunately clashes with this game’s ‘rush hour’.
When I signed up for this games subscription I signed up to play the game. I am not getting my money’s worth & if everyone could get some compensation for the lost time it’d be great.
I will never pay for early access again!
Second time I done so,,,,,,and burn again
Haven't been able to log in once!
This is absolutely the worst mmo launch mess I have ever experienced. I can't believe they advertised for early release play and have so many people paying for something they can't even use. I wish I had known how unprepared they were and saved my money. I only came to this game a month ago to join several friends that left another game to come here. I have already spent so much money on this game in the mog station store and the early release pass for this expansion. It's insane that this is happening. Some people are saying they are having hours of wait time... I haven't even been able to log in since the "launch" I will be disputing the charges with my bank for this flop of an expansion and going back to my other games. On top of everything else... the dashboard to even purchase the game is so unorganized and difficult to navigate through. They even charged my account twice for this expansion. Ridiculous! The mmo world is too broad to pay for a game you can't even log into. Shame on you Square enix!!
