If you could add or update one feature in the game, what would it be?

As the title says, if you could add or update one feature in the game, what would it be and why?

First I was thinking about glam, it's so limited it's a pain in the butt, but then I remembered the world and how dead it feels.

If possible I would like the fate system to get a complete overhaul, adding a reward system, ranks, tokens, all connected to the adventurer's guild. Making fates more fun, more interactive, have better chain events. Basically to make the fates more like the events in Guild Wars 2 or more like the rifts from Rift. It's so sad to see the world so empty and hollow. The only incentive to go into the world after reaching max level is relic hunting which is just a forced activity most people dislike.

cutscene engine from what I heard was actually better in 1.0
however I feel like shbs cutscenes were more complicated so maybe they improved it after a while

Display the housing timer.

Well its hard to compete with 1.0 cutscenes, the game used different engine back then and also all the cutscenes in 1.0 was made using motion capture.

what i want updating is server structure and coding it seems the reason why we are not getting more character creation option is because of problem with data stuff if what yosh said is right

Glamour system. Add the ability to try on multiple things. Permanently save pieces you gain in a log. Glamour plates should be applicable everywhere, and improve tying glamour plates to sets instead of the armour.

Complete customization of Island Sanctuaries, including building an inhabitable home and the return of all past seasonal event housing items to purchase in-game for a limited time. I really don't want my IS to have plot spaces only usable in pre-determined ways that make them all cookie-cutter, slightly differently customized, versions of themselves. Give me the ability to build an estate with a house and a f*$k ton of trees, ponds, and such if I want; or allow people to have their land fully-farmable if they so desire.

Marking/Selecting multiple items to discard, desynth, extract materia, etc.
Alternatively: enabling selling without having the need to click twice or dragging the item by introducing CTRL/Alt/Shift + Left/Right click.

You can try on multiple things, there's a button in the preview called simply save I believe, or something like it.

Combat instead of what we got you would fight, dodge attacks similar to dark souls, having to manually roll, block,parry.

Also to change almost every job to their orginal ff styles. With blm gettimg all elemental spells, dragoon getting invunlable to attacks, bard and archer split into 2 jobs.

Remove acn and put sch as 2nd to conjuring
Put smn as a 2nd to thaumage.
Add theif as A a 2nd to rogue

All new jobs made to start at either level 1 or 30 (50-60-70-80 )is way to high for starting a new job.

Remove job lock from weapons.

I would LOVE to be able to add a note to a player on my Friends List. Coming from WoW, this helped tremendously to remember where you met people + helps if some of your friends are addicted to Fantasia and namechanging to avoid confusion.

Glamours have been mentioned twice already, so instead I'll say The Companion System still has a lot of untapped potential. And especially since Yoshi is trying to make this game more and more solo friendly... maybe they could... you know... expand it~

You can spec your bird out to function as one of the 3 roles. But it'd be cool if, instead of just linearly picking up every ability, you had skill trees so your bird could specialize at healing a specific way, focus on DPSing differently, etc. That way you can build it to best compliment what class you're playing or what you wanna do with it
- AoEs for fighting groups
- single target focus for fighting Fate bosses
- a ranged spec to better avoid enemy AoEs
- etc

The option to turn a private house into a FC house.

Allow us to dye individual parts of gear.

Collect a piece, added to your collection and can apply it without space limitations

This seems less like a feature to add and more like you want FFXIV to be a fundamentally different game from the ground up lol.

For a new suggestion on my end though that I think nobody's mentioned yet, a sort of dungeon/raid/duty log where you can easily in game look up what drops from different duties and bosses. Largely for an in game resource for glam hunting.

A glamour system like ESO where u can collect EVERYTHING but it doesnt take up space.

Update Character, Armor, Weapon textures from AAR and some HW
Update Character animations (especially for Elezen, its been 8 years now)
Update Chocobo companions. (Better Ai, Flat Stat Boost and New Caster Style)
Update Grand Company Ranks, Give us more higher level armor and weapons for Seals
Update Squadrons with new classes and skills, Increase the cap to 70.
Update the Inventory system, when maxed out, you really do not need 3 full bags for quest items, remove 2 and add them to the normal inventory.

And most of all, START TO WORK ON A NEW ENGINE THAT CAN HANDLE THINGS IN THE FUTURE BETTER.

Let me view Key Items while sitting. Also, let me use certain items (minions, treasure maps, etc.) while sitting.

Expand the trust system to include all normal dungeons and trials, while also allowing anywhere from one to seven actual players to participate. Essentially, enable much smaller groups to complete normal difficulty content without blasting through it unsynced.

I got two, Job design and character creator. The latter is self explanatory

-Bring back cross class so as to be a reward for levelling more than one job. There was nothing wrong with the system. It could have existed alongside role skills easily.
-eliminate role skills by making them standard additions to the relevant kits

-design each job to have a unique playstyle and identity within its role. Healers get redesigns to reflect gameplay of dpsing and healing with synergy between the two halves of the kit. Tanks likewise get rewarded for proper mitigation and enmity made better and more visible.
Raise overall job complexity back to SB levels at minimum. Preferably to HW levels.
Update hall of the novice and make it mandatory

-make a talent tree system with a pool of potency points.

The talent tree will take certain moves that have changed or been removed over time and additions to job kits and make them optional. For example Celestial opposition can have either its stun and time extension or its instant aspected benefic effect.
A dark knight might choose to have delirium 1.0 and scourge and get shut of dark mind and discount inner release
Then you have a potency pool- you can distribute this to your talent actions. This pool will go up or down with different actions so as to ensure some combinations of actions don't completely overshadow others.

Blitzball as it was on FFX with maybe the recruitment aspect.

Selfishly, I would update NIN with the revised mudra system I put together.

Otherwise, I would expand the glamour system. At the very least there would always be at least one plate for every class, and you could tie a hairstyle and other CC options to them as well.

I always wanted there to be a "face slot", that way I could use hats and glasses

Jokes aside, I agree. Not considering engine limitations and time constrains, Viera and Hrothgar specially should've had non-human feet, or at least longer nails

Readjusted ilvl sync that doesn't give free clears. Unsync for free clears, sync for at-level "normal" difficulty, minilvl the "normal+" or "harder" difficulty.

I would also delete cats.
