I too would like more information about Island Sanctuary...
During the live letter and media tour interviews, they mentioned they'd tell us more both during the post launch live letter and leading up to 6.1.
I kinda get it, they want all attention on 6.0, and will discuss what's to come after we play the stuff more immediately on our horizon.
But also waiting can be difficult and I'd like a little more info if only so my mind doesn't start taking the mystery of the sanctuaries strange places.

Coulda sworn they said it was 6.1, but the thread they posted doesn't say that. Here's hoping it's not massively delayed like the last 2 Relic sets...
plus this isn't "make or break" material for the 6.x series. this is something that can continue on indefinitely, past this expansion and onto future ones.
a lot of people are heaping a LOT of expectations onto this content, when we really still have near ZERO idea of how *exactly* it's going to work and what will be included.

They always hype up some .X features during the expansion announcements.
They did for Ishgard Restoration and New Game + for example in Shadowbringers. Eureka in Stormblood.
There was literally no reason to expect it to come earlier than in the .X patches.
Better not to say anything than to end in a "Dragonsong Ultimate" situation.
I totally expect them to have planned the sanctuary for 6.1 and push it to 6.2X like they did with Eureka because, as they said, they did not anticipate people to have such high expectations on this.
To be fair though it IS still listed on the 6.0 site right below the Small scale PvP they dropped a LOT of info on.
More likely they were shooting for 6.0 but had to push it off for MSQ finishing touches, so yeah seems like 6.1 or even later. I just want more info about cause there is certainly a lot of rumors, true or not could be very misleading.
I'm far less worried about how packed with novel features it'll be, as I am hoping that it'll come out of the box giving me access to a personal deluxe garden.
Whatever crop growing/gardening is included in Island Sanctuary won't be the same as the gardening we have in housing. It's supposed to be relaxing content you can do when you think about it, not stressful high maintenance content that requires you to visit it daily to keep your crops from dying.
This has been a consistent pattern in every expansion, so it's not surprising it happened to Island Sanctuary. Diadem, Eureka, and Bozja were all announced as expansion features and were not in at launch.
They'd would probably not want to to be in the same 6.x release as the new housing though.
Am excited for this content, but we do have a lot more to learn about it too. Only some general ideas currently, and that one quote, from streamers- not SE, that says it's instanced housing. Which I believe was a misunderstanding. I am thinking it'll be 6.1 (or there around) content, but it would be nice to hear about it a few mores times before then and hopefully sooner than later either squelch or let loose the hounds of excitement on that last bit about it being instanced housing.
They've mentioned stardew (devs liked playing that game, so likely inspiration) and animal crossing (the latter in reference to say it's not going to be as feature full as a complete game that was explicitly dedicated to the concept), but I imagine there is maybe some WoW garrison inspiration too. I really like the ideas that can come from that, just hopefully they did see where WoW went wrong which was particularly turning it into a place you have to babysit / afk in and also abandoned (would be nice the content isn't left for dead). For some time (years) been asking for perhaps an instanced like space, even if it has to use node like system, and so I kind of feel like it's feedback inspired.. so it's difficult to maintain calm but I really hope it is received well and will have a nice feature / future space without causing huge disruptions that it could do if done wrong. Potentially they may start out on the cautious side, so it might be a little bit "neat but I wish there was more" in which case I hope we can see it grow and grow in directions that will work well for the game.
If the system does well, suggested before, I think there might be a really cool potential for FC content around a more industrial / combat like space in the theme of Dark Cloud / Hamlet systems.
Anyway hard to say what it'll be exactly but the concept art, and what has been said so far seems promising :). While I'd love it to be in 6.0, I would rather they feel confident in the system before releasing it. Just perhaps help gently guide expectations with teasers a little bit here and there, like I have strong doubt on the whole "it'll be instanced housing" (not that I would complain if it was lol).

You've got friends you play with and friends who will water your garden. Those who care for your garden are forever. . :D.
This was one of the things that I've been looking forward to the most. I'm practically on the edge of my seat waiting for more information, though I know it's going to be a couple of months yet. Still, I want to know more dangit!
