Seat of Sacrifice Ex

Si I have been doing this farm unfortunately in PF 58 fights and haven't won it it by drop and got beat by one number one drop. I think the purpose of the 99 totems is to crush our hopes, destroy our spirits and burn us out honestly. At this point I just stopped caring after 50 fights lol. I wish it was just 50 totems to get but nope 99 soul crushing totems.

I agree.
50 fights on Hades felt just right.
But 99 before the pity mount (assuming you also got the weapons you wanted?) is too much.
I'd not EX farmed until ShB and I don't plan on doing it again.

It's less of a cruelty and more of a mercy to those unlucky enough to have lost the roll however many times over potentially hundreds of clears. For others it's an end point for their grind, provided they don't win it by the 99 totem mark. Honestly though, after the buff to the drop rates one would have to be extremely unlucky to make it to that point, though I've gone as far as 70-80 before winning an Ex mount in the past. I know it's possible and I have encountered others who have had to go the full 99.

Lol, my EX farming was full of extremes.
I had to buy the Titania, Hades, and Emerald with the totems... but I got the Ruby mount in 4 clears and Diamond's in 2.

I’ve done the full 99 for my dragon. It was awful, tedious and boring. But ultimately doable as there is a clear end goal regardless of luck.

This fight was the first fight that I have to exchange totems for mount.
so you're not alone.

I would prefer just 25 because that's when I start getting burned out. Hades was a lot better at 50.

Seat of Sacrifice EX is the fight that hurts the least to have to get 99 totems if it comes down to that. One of the best designed and most fun EX fights out of all of them without question.

The whole purpose is to keep EX Trials alive throughout a given patch cycle. They don't expect players to farm 99 tokens all at once but over a 4-6 month span. Of course, people do. However, that isn't the intent. Reducing the number makes it harder for player later on looking to farm. Hades and Diamond were exception; the former due to its length while the latter because it's the last one of the expansion. Personally, I think they were testing Diamond's longevity and decided it didn't last long enough. Hence why weapon coffers will drop in Endwalker but you'll still only get a single token per kill.

As someone who had in ShB: 4 ex mounts at 99 totems, 1 at 91 totems, 1 at 70 totems and 1 at 47 totems, i can only agree with the 2 totems per run for all ex trial or a reduction of the number of totems required for long fight (looking at you Emerald).

All done through pf as i don't have a static and my fc is dead so it was exhausting. SoS was the easiest because i love that fight, it did go all the way to 99 totems. Emerald was the most painful one.
My SB % drop was slightly better but not by much.

Agreed I bopped to that song so much, the only EX trial that I have done 99+ times is Innocence that guy just didn't wanna drop the dragon was the most painful, SoS EX took me like 60ish runs and the rest were fairly quick, just missin 2.

I think 50-75 totems would be a good amount. It's about the same amount of times I needed to run just to get all job's weapons.

Considering my luck and general disinterest toward mounts, it is why I never touch EX mount grinding. I'm content to just wait for mog tome or when the trials are as trivial as current days ARR EX.

The only ShB EX mount that I have right now is only Emerald Dragon that I somehow managed to snag with only a roll of 34 during weapon grinding. Turns out 7 other players in the party rolled even lower than I did lmao.

I got pretty lucky with WoL ex only took like 30 runs
but 99 runs for emerald and 50 runs for DiaEx was awful

True true, but at least tokens are even a thing cause we didnt always have them, had to get EX mounts all through rng before...

Imo and i dont think theres is a legit confirmation of this the mount drop rates are around.
2-3% on release and 10-15% after nerf. The main problem is if you constantly have to join a new party in which 7 others need the drop.

You can get a much smoother run if you can get a mini static or FC runs (if your fc is able to do this). Personally i have all the trials mounts now and my experience is roughly. 50-70 runs in i get a lucky high roll, i had to buy 2 mounts, one was Lakshmi (we had no real content on 4.0 so i got 230ish tokens) and Seiryu which i stopped at 99 and waited for the purchase option.

Ex mounts are basically there to fill the holes in content imo, i think they are playing with the 50 kills idea, considering hades and diamond have it. Hades you can argue its a very long and mechanically intense fight ... but diamond is not ... or maybe they just felt "nice" when they did the diamond one.

99 totems is the end goal if going after the mount, used to be that before the change mid Heavensaward the totems only gave you access to weapons, the mount was still like the rng of primal ponies but at a worst drop rate at the time.

It took awhile but feedback from forums/reddit to allow us to exchange 99 totems for the mount eventually came through, imagine the XIV world where this never happened all the trial mounts being pure rng with no way to mitigate it outside lootmaster.

Seat of Sacifice is no where near the worst one to farm that honour belongs to Emerald Weapon EX, the mechanics are pretty bare, long stretches of I just stand here menacingly, its worst p1 mechanic is at start and its worst p2 mechanic can be skipped, yet it is a slog of a fight.

I'm in the firm camp of if you feel the need to put a checkpoint in it SE make it give 2 totems rather than 1

My sentiments exactly. I was lucky enough to get my SoS mount on the second clear with a 94 roll. I think I actually teared up as that was my last mount, literally elated joy. Then I kind of felt sad that I would never need to farm SoS EX again, it is the best designed EX hands down. Sometimes I just que up for the fun of it and enjoy the music.

Emerald Weapon on the other hand....that was 99 totems.....and I NEVER want to do emerald ever again. Emerald EX actually made me HATE the battle music...if I hear "Big Fat Tacos" again I would probably drop kick a puppy. (jokeing)

Diamond felt like the longest because a majority of farm parties were absolutely terrible.

Yeah, Diamond was a bit more complicated than the rest in my opinion. I joined learning/clear parties for Ruby and Emerald and cleared them both within a single lockout, though Emerald cut it close. I was a couple of days hopping in learning groups for Diamond because very few seemed capable of handling Flood Ray, if they made it past the beast phase at all. That made learning it all the way through a lot harder for me as well. Eventually I landed in that fabled group that only wiped I think once before clearing. By that point I knew the fight pretty well and was able to just hop right into farm parties. I'm just glad my farm was short because that fight really is kind of awful, though it's actually quite fun if everyone knows what they are doing. Think I got my final totems for the gunblade and the mount in my last clear. I know I got lucky with the mount but I still felt like I earned it. I put in a lot of work between dealing with failed learning parties and watching the same guides on repeat, along with looking at some diagrams someone was kind enough to make.

Another way to get your mount is waiting for next expansion's moogle tome events that just give you the mount straight.


At least a mount has totems to trade for, while farming for Triple Triad card is the true RNG cuz it may or may not drop during your farm, and there is no totem alternative.

The thing that burns me out when doing mount farming for EX mounts is how often the person that spent most of the fight dead on the floor because they could never be bothered doing mechanics rolls a 99 on the mount then leaves...

Yeah, that's probably what I'll be doing. They should be starting the Shadowbringers mounts about halfway through Endwalker I think? I might join for anything that's easily clearable and farmable in the mean time but I'll mostly be playing the waiting game.

I did well over 300+ Zurvan runs in the day before pity buys ever existed. So 99 is a blessing, the 50 for Hades was because of how many transitions the fight had, on-top of annoying cut-scenes.
