a thing that bugs me and makes me wonder about rested exp

I usually build up a nice rested exp bonus before going to level my DOL.
However, I've noticed that when fighting with my level 50 classes I still get exp for the kills even though I have no bar to fill.

What I'm wondering is if this takes off from what I saved as rested exp bonus.

And if so, please make change that!

Gaining exp but not gaining exp (fighting on 50s) and completing quests doesn't mess with your rested exp bonus. The bonus is actually less and less as you level (it isn't as effective due to high tnl) that's it.

The log really should indicate that the bonus is not being used since it's not being used. We still should see the XP gained for Spiritbond purposes, but it shouldn't apply or display the +50% modifier.

the +50% or whatever is for chain bonuses. I've never had rested xp and it still shows up when I'm killing stuff.

TBH XP shouldn't even show when you are capped, whats the point ?

But yea as others said it doesn't use up any bonus.

Or an even easier solution would be to read the patch notes corresponding to the update it was implemented. (1.21)

Spiritbond still requires XP.

What's that got to do with it ?

You are telling me that if you went to Natalan at 50 to SB you "require" XP pop ups and text to inform you of your progress ?

You could take the numbers away and you would still spiritbond, and you could look at your gear page to see what your progress is anyway.

It makes absolutely no difference if the XP is viewable or not.

No it doesnt. originally it did, but they changed it to comparing the level of the gear to the level of the monster being killed. so if u want a ton of lvl1 materia u can kill lvl1 mobs and get no exp on a lvl50 job but still get decent SB for the low level gear your wearing.

This is true. Spiritbonding is per kill not per XP gained. You can tell when you go out farming the stronghold NMs, the adds give you no exp, but your spiritbond meter still rises.

I thought they changed it, so even less reason to show it at cap.

yes, that's solid game design right there. Wanna know something about the game? Find when it was released and look up the notes. You have no idea how much I enjoy doing it when assigning attribute points. Its like having bonus content.

Lol. it isn't mentioned in game because...it's pretty obvious? idk...you're exp bar isn't colored at 50.
