Why aren't 18+ ERP listings banned from PF?

It's great that RMT is finally being removed from the PF but there's no mention of ERP being banned at all!

When I say ERP I clearly don't mean Extreme Raid Progression! I'm talking about the clearly illegal acts that violate section 3.3!

I know that it's a troll thread, but it's likely because they feel that ERP PF's are already satisfactorily covered by other parts of the ToS.

Listing runs for sale wasn't explicitly prohibited as long as you were being sly about it, now it is.

True story. Also Fellowships. On my DC it's just shameless. There's full on systems for "performers" and "venue hosters"... it being so blatant is so jarring.

They can't ban main source of income during regularly scheduled content drought that can take half a year.

I've never seen straight up "ERP" advertisements in PF. Is OP just assuming all RP postings are ERP?

The people that do EPR know it's clearly stated that it's "ok" as long as long as it's conducted in a private area. It even states this in the rules. Those people know it's not wise to advertise it on PF.

Know it's probably a troll thread but as someone that dabbles in mentioned activity I wanted to clear some things up!

As long as the PF advert isn't explicit I don't really see a big problem with it? PF is a handy tool for RPers to meet up and if there's an E involved that's their business. I wouldn't do it personally but that's just me.

As long as all parties consent, are of age, and aren't getting down in the middle of Ul'dah's roads whatever erotic content they're up to is perfectly fine. Certainly not my business!

Yeah...they already do target these sort of things. As long as they aren't explicitly promoting ERP and the like people are usually safe. But saying "hey guys, we've got a brothel!" or something similar is probably going to result in some sort of account action.

I'm so glad they have examples, even if I'm scared of extreme cases still stemming from them, things feel so much clearer.

Well, under the new ToS changes you can report for that sort of thing if folks are just barging into your house. ESPECIALLY if they're ERPing in there without your consent.

It's like asking lewd folks to get off your lawn.

Careful about this "whole" consent thing. Some people will act spiteful and will report you even if there was an agreement. They make it look like there wasn't any consent, but in reality, conversations happened—they're just upset they didn't get what they wanted from their interactions. Maybe asking the person in chat before doing anything is a better option than having no option at all. It should be something like "Do you agree or consent to the actions and content we are about to discuss?"

tl;dr Sign your consent forms before doing anything risky!

I'm glad they did explicitly mention erotic role play in the changes as it sets clear expectations for behavior in situations that aren't 100% completely private. I wouldn't be surprised if they considered ERPing in a stranger's unlocked house "public domain" for purposes of the owner or otherwise innocent visitors encountering unexpected/unwanted lewdness when going inside. I'd be VERY UPSET if I went into my house to see strangers getting it on. You can bet your sweet bippy that a report would be filed immediately. No, "You left it unlocked therefore you should expect strangers to be doing things in your house" is not an acceptable situation. Strangers sitting on my couch drinking tea and chatting is totally different from random naked people in my bath/shower/bed.

If you want a place to ERP, buy an apartment.

We're on the same world and I have CLEARLY seen ERP on the PF.

Eternally Resurrecting Primals is a major part of the game for people who like to farm group content for shiny mounts!

What is considered a private area though? I have my Mansion in the Mist set to allow visitors because I like reading the comments they leave in my Message Book, and I've had a few ocassions of repeated people ERPing inside thinking I was not online. Since per the ToS we do not own any of the game's assets, does random people ERPing in my Mansion in the Mist count as a private space even if I or any other person that comes visit can bump into them mid hot session in the Carbuncle Bathtub?

Private has the meaning of the chat space, not the physical space (at least that's how I took the meaning). If people are using /emote then they are basically doing this in public (unless the location is locked down to just the consenting people). You having your house as allowing visitors now makes it a public space, and someone could report said ERPers.

Sex sells why would they remove it.

I ended up having to keep our FC house locked up semi-permanently because of weird fetish ERPers always roaming in trying to look around for a place to screw at. Made so many of us uncomfortable.

Get up to whatever you want, people, but do it in your own dang apartments and houses. You don't break into a neighbor's house to get it on with some random you picked up off the street IRL, why would you in a video game?

There is absolutely no way you're on Primal and have never seen an ERP PF.

Elezen Royalty Protectors now have to bodyguard in private and are considered mildly sexual... well I mean, I guess... You have seen Elezen, right? Mmmmhmmmmm.
