Right first of all im a pretty casual player but i have been playing the game on and off since ARR and overtime i do love the game to bits.
But i have come a cross quite a few mild to medium level annoyances that makes me go ugh why is it like this.
Like why is there no easy way quickly sort retainers inventories like you can do with your own.
Why is there no quick way to post multiple stacks of the same item at once to the market board why do i have to manually enter the price and post them one at the time
Why is there no easy way to filter out / hide items that my race/gender cant use
as well as filter out emotes / hairstyles i already have.
Why cant i go to bed properly in my own house / apartment no cute animation and my character keeps waking up outside in her PJ's
Why cant i set it so by default vendors i talk to will show items for my current active job why do i have to go down a massive list then a drop down menu each time.
Why do jobs that has zero use of MP still have a MP bar.
And along those lines why is there no way to have the option to replace the MP bar that is useless with a more useful a job gauge resource bar.
Like for example for MCH it would be turned in to a heat gauge bar with maybe some blue lightning bolts or something in one of the corners of the bar to indicate your battery level.
Just a idea or just give use a option to hide the MP bar and maybe give us the option to put our MP / resource bar below your HP bar instead of next to it.
Why is there no way to make the target bar shorter and thicker i want to short and girthy.
Have the Display log Message for emotes disabled by default OR limits it post rate i have seen so many players spamming emotes not aware that the emote message spams out everyone's chat
Player chat bubbles for speech would be a nice implementation
Some Job abilities take up unnecessary hot bar space for no real good reason for example on mch Heat Blast and Auto Crossbow are completely dead outside of your overheat windows.
Easy way to clean it up is to simply have Hypercharge
Turn in to Heat Blast and Spread Shot become Auto Crossbow during the overheat window.
The Rook / Queen summon should also turn in there forced finisher action Rook/Queen Overdrive for the same reason wildfire turns in to detonator by default sometimes the target might die before the end of its natural duration and you would want to pop it early
The MCH 3 button combo can easily be condensed to one button but this might be a bit much
Im sure some other jobs have similar things that could benefit by being condensed just some thoughts and ramblings of things i notice is a play this lovely game and think could make the game better.

The race/gender items are kind of weird, since there's more gear that isn't locked than there is that is locked like that.
The emote/hairstyle thing, a lot of them can be traded, and the ones that aren't tradable you can't obtain after using once.
The MP bar thing is probably just a blanket thing. Does it really bother you seeing an MP gauge on classes that don't use it? Plus when things use to be level based cross class, like giving classes cure/physick they USED to be able to use MP. It's probably way easier to just blanket the MP on all classes, it really doesn't hurt anything
The only peoples' gauges I'm ever really worried about is the MP of healers, and drk/pld, being able to see their resources. I'm sure many people wouldn't want to see up to 8 gauges constantly bouncing around. Plus some classes aren't just flat out gauges, so I'm not sure that would work.
Wouldn't mind more customization for the target's HP bar personally.
You can hide the emotes from your chat by hitting the gear next to the chat if they bother you. There's always gonna be people spamming them because they like to spam them. Been in dungeons where others were doing that.
I really don't know why people want speech bubbles for players in game. I've played a few MMOs in the past where that was the ONLY way to see what people were saying, and it was a huge eyesore. IF they were off by default, then sure, people can go nuts with them, but then you'd be seeing people with HUGE chat bubbles spamming FC recruitment ads/ect
Wouldn't mind a couple more skills changing into what's needed when it's able to be used, kind of like some gunbreaker's skills. But I wouldn't want all the skills to be condensed like a lot of forum players are wanting (Like making them mindless like in PvP) -

You can sort retainer inventories, just click the sort button.
You cannot put up multiple stacks at once because there is a limit of 20 and what if you are at 19?
Needing to filter out race/gender items you can't use is likely to only be a problem for people who buy fantasias a lot and don't keep their inventory tidy.
You probably can go to bed properly with /doze but I haven't tried it in a house. I don't know if it works this way, but I assume that you login outside of the house because it's instanced and while logged out other people might use your instance.
You can't replace the MP bar but you can get your job gauge in the form of a simple bar that looks like your MP in the HUD settings. You can also reduce the size of the target bar there or use your focus target bar instead which is really small.
You can choose your job for tomestone gear and on the market board. Maybe this will be added for normal vendors eventually but it's not that important, because the main story gives you the same gear but high quality.Quote:

True seeing them in raid / party frames might be a problem granted i rarely look at my party frames as a dps.
But might be a bit of annoyance to healers maybe add a option to hide none MP bars in the party / raid frame could a thing if they where to change it.
And it kinda bothers me cause im not quite able to make my UI look how i like it cause there is a MP bar in the way taking up space.
Granted simply allowing the HP and MP bar to stack on top of each other instead of next to each other would solve it as well.
yeah i would not want a full on pvp skill squish some things are a bit much i mainly want the Heat Blast and Auto Crossbow auto switch over during overheat.
And maybe have Heavy / Burst shot change over to Refulgent Arrow when ever you get straight shot ready maybe have wanders change to pitch perfect during its duration for brd.
i dont mind seeing the emote text is just dont like when im chilling in a city talking to my fc and then randomly getting my whole chat box spammed out by emotes hence why limiting the amount of emote messages posted server side would be nice.
Oh and for sure if speech bubbles for players where to become a thing then they really need to be limited in size to avoid huge text boxes being spammed maybe messages above a certain word count / length wont have text bubbles -

Can and should are not the same thing, if we condensed buttons just for the sake of it and Jobs played like in PvP it'd be extremely boring imo.
Basically every other MMO is already like this and plays almost like a button masher, FFXIV is different and it's why I love the combat in FFXIV. -

Or better yet when making a character put a preference style option so if you want male to only get the feminine verses it will and same for other side.
Other compainion options than chocobo
Adopt a baby beast tribe
Make what god/goddess u pick matter
Rng abilitys like fans, sch extra heal bonus thing should be on crit not ranged -

Its all the same to me just one require more steps and screen space then the other there is no " skill " to it
