I’ll take my time and level up either WHM or AST via the MSQ with a bit of dungeon spam mixed in. I’ll invariably grind the other healer jobs out via dungeons in between primal farms.
I'm thinking of seeing if I can level 2 jobs at the same time through MSQ. One healer (probably whm -_-) and another one that's more fun and damage-oriented for solo duties and such like that. I'm still not sure how I feel about Sage, so will watch some of the feedback people have while leveling it and decide what to do from there.
doubt ill be leveling sage day one but you will want to do Bozja or dungeon spam (with a premade) asap
so good tip would be to save two wonderous trials book one complete ready for endwalker and you use and pick up the other once sage/reaper is unlocked and it will get you to lvl 71 within like 2 minutes
Well for one... when I do decide to level up my SGE (and Reaper) I really don't want to deal with first two months of DF folks except MSQ Roulette. That brings me to BSF content. But BSF only allows lv71 and higher while those two newcomer starts from lv70. So I'll be abusing any sort of means of gaining experience such as:Hopefully by the time I finish everything I listed they would've leveled to lv71, from which I can start plowing through Zadnor in peace. My lost cache is fat full with all those essences and LAs, I can spend them like I drink water :)
- Saving WT reward from a week prior to EW release.
- Fairy BTQs accepted beforehand so I can have 6 quests in a day.
- Challenge Log, including some FATEs.
- MSQ Roulette (because it's braindead easy).
Bozja, since there's still stuff I need from there and I may as well grind stuff out while levelling up.
Ima do Hakke manor and make the new players jealous and also see how the prog kit is in 30/50/60/70
As the greatest pitfall the devs will do to all jobs not designed from early levels is it plays like crap until it’s base
21 skirmishes is a level
critical engagements give about 2.8 skirmishes worth of exp
Dalriada and Castrum give like 3 CE worth of exp but take too long and not really worth it.
Dungeon ques for healer are gonna be clogged up like DPS it would be faster but only with a premade
Holding a funeral service for my Scholar. The procession starts on launch day.
My original post was a bit bad.
You said you were hoping to level 2 jobs via the MSQ (One healer and another one that's more fun and damage-oriented for solo duties and such like that.), SMN/SCH allows you to do just that.
Not trying to tell you how to play, but SMN/SCH is honestly one of the best job combos to level right away as you have access to a DPS and a Healer right away.
Im going to see if i like it at all first before i commit to leveling it for my first job. Though i'm burned out on all the healers right now so the bar is low.
I'll play through the story as a Summoner while trying to also level up Sage through roulettes.
Get sage and ast to 90 asap but sage first, since am more a barrier lover than regen, ast will now be my sub healer and sage main(previously was ast as main and whm as sub if I was feeling up for a more challenge, also just putting away all my whm weapons in storage and not look at it ever. Before the launch will do a video record of dirunal/noct sect just like i did in stormblood before card changes XD. Nice to make memory of what a job use to can do and what it does currently.
SMN will be my MSQ/raid main as it has been for a while, but my Sage plans are:
- set up crossbars once job is unlocked
- get to 71 via beast tribes/roulettes
- take early access day 1 to level with trusts
That way I can get myself comfortable and familiar with the kit in a low-stress environment and decide to side-level it alongside SMN as I work through the MSQ. I spent all of Shadowbringers raid healing on SCH and I'm excited for Sage, but I don't need to rush beyond setting myself up for an early access experience I'll enjoy.
I'm gonna smash out SGE for EW via roulettes, daily hunts, beast tribes, then Bozja.
Going to level up SGE as soon as I get in game.
I've been waiting for a new healer for too long.
And I love SGE aesthetic and some of its feeling looks like a modern-old sch
depends on what, if anything, is tweaked from the media tour build.
If they end up changing it so sage at least looks more interestign than it does now on paper, I'll go unlock it and check out how it plays in bozja.
If not, I'll probably jump into the msq straight away on AST, or maybe a DPS/tank, again depending on how things feel when the changes come out.
Dungeons will likely be better if you can maintain quick queues or have a premade. Definitely check PF as people may be advertising to dungeon spam.
For my own preparations since a friend and I are leveling Sage and Reaper together. We're going to...
- Complete two Wondrous Tales' books to immediately hit 71
- Have several EXP boosters rolling (FC buffs, earrings, food)
- Will have Challenge logs prepped just before maintenance
We're even going an extra step and farming some 75-79 gear on DRG/Healer just to speed things up some. You won't need a lot as the Scaven gear can carry you all the way to 80 but getting some will make the spamming go faster.
From a strict mettle and EXP standpoint CE's and Dalriada simply aren't worth it.
Ask yourself, in the time that CE starts (with it's 2 min timer before you can even engage) battle ensues to completion, could you do 3 skirmishes. If so, that CE was an inefficient use of your time.
SCH has become unfun and boring. I'll likely try the Sage, but if it's more of the same I'll either quit and play another game or move to a dps.
First job to max will be SMN, and SCH is part of the package. I hope I can get SGE to 90 with the MSQ, too, but even if not, it's not going to be a big problem.
Personally, I doubt that there will be healer queues. Healers are in demand, because nobody wants to play the role. Most new Sages will be healer players, and those who aren't won't last long.
Prolly main story with War, side quest/roulette/beast Sge after and then whenever the new DD or Eureka zone drops ill level everything else.
First: unlock it and peer at the tooltips, note any changes since the media tour and rig up a hotbar.
Then either
1. Dump two WT tails books in a row and start grinding it in bozja (if changes make it a healer and not a Dosis spammer)
2. Dump my nouliths in my retainer and do the msq as rdm, gnb or dnc (if it stays a dosis spammer) Check again in a month after the emergency patch and repeat 1 or 2. If 2 again, then its time i looked for another game to heal on.
I will unlock and level up the Sage via roulettes and dungeons. After that i will decide if I will progress in the story with Sage or White Mage.
I'm definitely going to play sage, mainly because it has a far better job gear than the other healers (as far as male characters are concerned), and I've been a healer main since I started playing the game...
but first I'm doing the MSQ on Warrior. I didn't get around to jumping ship to tank in ShB and this time I am not making that mistake. I will then level Sage at a snail's pace on the roulette bonus, when the healer queue inflation has died down. Dosis spam will wait.
I keep going backwards and forwards on this and right now whether to level SCH. I suppose My housemate is a lifelong WHM and loves the job no matter what so I think I will do RDM this time around rather than SMN and we can do dungeons together when I used to tank.
I have given up levelling up all jobs to 80 as it is pointless for myself. I am also a Scholar main and it has been since ARR beta job despite its changes I struggle to let go which is silly as I feel invested. I will do what others mention I will level Sage slowly and do every single dungeon with it.
I love trying a new job so I will run it through my favourite dungeons per expansion and see how it feels. I like to get basic mechanics down per expansion so I get the tooltips and play style. I am a bit slower.
Scholar or Sage showdown is where I am at.
For MSQ progression, I have a weird thing where I don't play any of the jobs any of the other Scions do, so Sage is out. That won't stop me from leveling it though. Reducing the CD on their gap closer might get me to change my mind about that.
It seems like they designed it around the use of Phlegma (ugh that name, so cringe). Which I agree would make sense if it had charges to match, hopefully its a change they make! Plus all of its healing is centered in a very close radius around itself being able to reposition like that would add a lot of quality of life to the job!
As far as the topic goes, definitely rushing to 80 and using it in msq, then scholar shortly after. Same as I did when I was super hyped for astro on its release!
Gonna level both new classes to 80 by using roulettes, challenge logs and Bozja.
Then you may not be very fond of sage either. 85% of the kit is the same hehe. Unless your reasons for disliking sch is aesthetics, or more about the fairy, and things like it prioritizing movement over using its abilities (though this is mitigated by placing it before hand).
