Orchestration thread (should be completely non-controversial)

I just hit the first credits scene of Heavensward, so I haven't heard all the music, but...

What are your favorite Orchestration tracks? (And why is a playlist limited to only 8 songs?)

So far my favorite is Valse di Fantastica - are there any other waltzes out there?

Answers. It’s heavy. The vocals on the singer. Plus a little nostalgic from turn 13 progression back in ARR. I used to have that looped in my house til someone added some of the nier ones. Which I’m good with

Pulse album, Fortress of Lies and Torn of the Heaven / Dark Colossus (Medley).

For FFXIV music my favourite is Ancient City.

My favorites among the ones I have are probably just my current orchestrion playlist... so -
- Kaine, Torn from the Heavens/Dark Colossus Destroys All medley, The Legendary Beast (e11), Shadowbringers, Insatiable (Shb boss theme), Bipolar Nightmare, Civilizations, and Mortal Instants (One of the Shb dungeon themes)

Also a big fan of all the Alexander music (except cruise chaser...), vamo' allá flamenco (dancer theme), the extreme (e12), Answers - reprise, Deep Down (Malikah's Well), and a lot of the Heavensward primal themes

One of my favorite songs in game though actually doesn't have an orchestrion roll, which is a huge shame. It's the duel music, aka that one neat track that sometimes plays in potd.

I keep thinking of more so this is my last edit here : p

Favorite is "Iroha"; as well as the Dancer music... I think it's "Vamo Alla Flamenco"? Absolutely love "Vamo Alla Flamenco". "Shadowbringers" is another favorite as well as "Black Blossom" from PotD; and can't forget "The Tempest" music. Absolutely love piano music, and anything that sounds relatively jazzy, honestly I can listen to jazz music all day!

The old 1.0 outside region themes for La Noscea, Thanalan and the Black Shroud (On Windy Meadows, Twilight Over Thanalan and Whisper of the Land)
The Ultima Weapon second stage battle theme (Ultima)
Nael van Darnus's first stage battle theme in 1.0 and ARR (Tempest)
Ifrit's battle theme Primal Judgement
The Yan'xia daytime theme (A Father's Pride)
The Royal Menagerie second stage battle theme The Worm's Tail
The DNC class quest cutscene theme Vamo'ala Flamenco from FFIX
The Mushroomery, aka Matoya's Cave from FFI,

Aaah, how I love the music of Heavensward! Also the Wanderer's Palace Orchestrion (which seems to be different from the more energetic version in Hard mode).

I'll be honest, I wasn't particularly fond of the music in FFXV, but Valse di Fantastica really is a good one.

As for my favourite track, if I had to pick just the one it would be Eternal Wind - Shadowbringers.

Shuffle or Boogie

Shadow of the Body for me, because I'm heavily biased towards Dun Scaith.

Actually, he does, it's none other than Masayoshi Soken - he's both main music composer and the sound director for FFXIV. :D

I'm newish so I don't know the titles yet.

The one from Alexander that goes, "Forward and back now go forward and back, forward and back now move one step closer," whatever that one's called.

And the one that goes, "La-hee"... I don't care if it's a meme, that one's dope. The vocalist on that track reminds me of the late Dolores O'Riordan (Cranberries).

I also like, "Ambient Rain". LOL.

One of my favorite songs from IX was always Vamo'alla Flamenco so when I heard it in the Dancer questline I was ecstatic. That's permanently on in my FC house. A Long Fall as well, since I ran that dungeon 17 times over two days to get that roll. I also like Possessed by Disease from the Nier raids and Metal - Brute Justice Mode.

I love To The Edge, just don't have the roll yet.

Heavensward has the best sound track, no question. Ironically, I've got more ShB stuff going as there's more chill/relaxing music in it vs. HW.


Unchanging/Everchanging, Neath Dark Water, Everywhere and Nowhere, and Dragonsong. I'd add Night in the Brume (Piano Collection) if it didn't sound like it was recorded on an out-of-tune piano in someone's living room instead of a proper recording studio.
