I can understand how this would really get under some peoples skin, but personally I like that there are options.
Some plots have everything very squared up and spaced neatly, and others are a little more freeform.

You can't tell from the shot, but I have the medium nearest the apartment building...that telescope is perfectly placed...to look in all the windows.

What is worse is in the Lavender Beds they put a mansion with a side yard entrance on the edge of the map so there is nothing in front of it or to one side, so even if you go as far as you can and put your camera as far behind you as possible, you still cannot see the front of your house in its entirety. And don't even get me started on Kugane where they lined the beaches with houses and all the houses face away from the water....

Clearly no one on the design team has heard of urban planning lol

I was saying some plots are squared up and others are not and I'm glad there is a mix.

The Lavender Beds mansions are the worst IMO. The gate is on the side and the house is oriented in a way that you can’t see the front unless you enter the yard. I really dislike it.

The Shiro beachsides are really bad too. They don't even face the beach, they face towards eachother.

My former FC has a LB large and I loved having the entrance on the side. It allowed for a much more creative and interesting entry path. It was one of the few things I enjoyed about that house. I'm not a fan of the large interiors with their comparatively tiny item limits.

In Asian architecture, it is forbidden to have Front Entrance lineup with Main Entrance in the houses you are seeing in FF14.

My mansion in Mist has the gate line up perfectly with the front door. So does my FC house. So does my partner's house in Kugane. Not to mention that houses, businesses and other buildings, including old ones, in Japan have them line up as well.

By Asian architecture you could be referring to Japanese, Chinese, Korean, etc or even Indian depending on who you talk to, which are all vastly different. Its further divided my class, religion, time and region. So while it may have been forbidden somewhere, at some time, saying all of Asia cannot line up doors is a bit of a stretch.

So....whatcha saying about it being forbidden?

Pretty sure that's only per the rules of chinese feng shui? Not all asians? A lot rooms ingame align perfectly, some houses just...don't. So it's not that deep. Beds aren't supposed to line up perfectly with entrances either and yet you see that ingame too.

I hate that. Luckly larges don't share that too often, there is exceptions like most larges in Lavender beds.
