Halatali Mining Points

Please fix the location of Halatali Mining Points.
The structure of that map zone is already problematic, but if we have to go inside the caves and avoid stupid assassins or whatever, mining just become slow and boring.
Sometimes you don't know if the next spot is inside or outside, and if you guess wrong you're forced to do ridicolous trips.
Also, please, make gathering faster, just like you did with the crafting.

I've been doing mining leves at Halatali for weeks and have no issues at all, neither are inside caves at all (I must of done about 80 or so mining leves) and you can easily avoid all the mobs by going the longer route (theres several routes you can take)

I'm not talking about leves, Fear, my fault, I was not clear.
I'm talking about normal mining spots, not the ones in leve that are already perfect.
I'm talking about the spots that you search with the miner's ability "Lay of The Land".

Avoiding mobs isn't a problem since I can use the ultimate "Stealth" but, going inside and outside the caves with stealth becomes long and boring.

Judging by the fact that there are stacks upon stacks of Electrum Ore in Ward, and Halatali is literally the only place to get it consistently (Nophica sucks), I doubt that many people would have much of a problem.

This place has been the bane of my virtual existence for quite some time now.

Both Logging and Mining in this place blow. Mining definitely has it worse. It's just further compounded by the forced single yield =(

While nodes usually do end up very distant from each other, I expected this zone to be a bit worse. I'm up to around 3000/4000 mines in about 5 days. It could be worse.

Nodes spread far apart, Nodes inside and outside of caves and you constantly wonder if you are going to have to turn around and ride back around a mountain because the node is not on the outside/inside, Nodes beside assassins or ants causing you to slow down with stealth.

I'm not saying these are bad things for the game, but all of them converge into the hell that is halitali and none of them are present at iron lake. What the French, Toast?

It should be noted that Nanawa Mines is now an alternative to Halatali. They added Grade 5 nodes in this zone as of 1.22 and oftentimes, nodes are within 50 yalms of each other. On two occassions I saw two pop side by side.

This is cool. I have about 800 to go for the 4000. You get those kidney ores there right? Are they tradeable?

Yes, they're tradable. You can either sell them or save them for infinite anima.

End game (current end game) mining should not be easy, if anything iron lake and other grade fives should be more difficult. Think mining ifrits cauldron in XI, for those of you that played it, nothing easy about it. Now I know, this ge is very much not XI, but it is final fantasy.

Don't be upset because that rare ore isn't handed to you, it very well could be like XI where you had to mine for 8 hours solid to find the ore you were looking for.

It could be a lot worse.

Ya, this is what I'm saying. Iron Lake rare ore is handed to you. No mobs to worry about really, nodes are close together. It's like they took all of the bad stuff and put it into halitali. lol They need to put some true sound agg dragons out in Iron Lake to balance out the areas.

I agree that Halitali is one of the worst places to mine at, at the moment but I suppose if you want that gold you gota make a sacrifice lol.

I would like them to add a marker on the map similar to the leve circles when you use a skill on a gatherer. (Lay of the land of whatever)

This would solve some of the issue with wondering around aimlessly not knowing if a node is inside or outside the rocky area's.

I'm sure people will come in here and say well if you mine enough you learn where the nodes are but thats actually not true I have been mining a long time and every time I switch zones I forget where the previous nodes are.

Mining in Halatali can be a real pain in the ass. I find it to be the worst mining area in the game, and I've been mining on this game for over a year now since launch. Some days the mining routes are close by and easy to mine around.

Others, it tells you to run 300 yalms in one direction, and when you get there it tells you that you've traveled too far.

So you go around the corner again, jump off the chocobo for the 4th or 5th time to click the ability, get back on the bird, go inside the cave, all the way to the other end and then BAM... The game says: it's on higher ground.

So you go to turn around, run outside the cave, all the way around the wall, and to higher ground and finally, you get to mine the node... Now it's time for your second node~!!! Yay! :D (Same process, and I know I'm not the only player that feels that way too)

@!#$ that. Mining should be easy. There's no challenge in it. It's mining. you either have high enough stats to get lucky, get the crap you want, and then get out of there to make something out of it. It shouldn't be a hassle. The whole point of them throwing in a cloaking ability was to cover their fault for throwing innocent miners into harms way during their leve quests and not being ability to finish it due to enemy aggro on the locations.

Mining is a slow and tiresome process already as it is. We all know this as miners. And I personally think they should speed up the animations again to meet up with the current crafting system, and allow you to pop abilities whenever you want, like with crafting. Fix the gathering system if you have to make it balanced and work.

Anyway, getting back on track.

Halatali's awful design and node placement does not help any for miners out there seeking for some ores.

If you want to make mining challenge, that's fine, that's ok, but blindly running around and having to jump off a chocobo 4-5 times per node, if not more, is a pain in the ass.

While we're on the subject, submit to Square-Enix that you should be able to pop your mining abilities while you're riding your chocobo to locate nodes faster and more comfortably.

Inconvenience is not a challenge..basically. Once 2.0 comes out im sure halatali will be much better designed. Until then we are going to have to live with it. I agree with ppl here when they say its awful though, it really is. Its a terribly designed location, rare ore or not. Rare ore should be hard to get cuz its hard to get, not because of poor map design. Halatali is the *only* place too that is like that. Nanawa? np. Iron lake? np. Treespeak? np. Coerthas-Dragonhead? np. All of it is easy and well-laid out *except* halatali. Its almost as if someone entirely different designed the rest. Am I the only one who finds Halatali's unique terribad design as really weird?

I would settle for being able to manually mark my map.... I can then mark out my desired route and note the dangers and such.

It is kinda unfortunate that one zone is easy to gather at and the other is a pain...

This 1 million times this !

I asked a community dev this very question and I believe we got a response saying they would look into it and that was the last we ever heard of that (as with many questions we ask).

Now I know we can't have every small thing attended to as the dev team are busy little bee's but I would really like to know if this has had any more through or progress made to it.
