People still complain about samurai's midare setsugekka buildup and execution noise while others laud it. All SE can hope for is not a major rejection of the sfx upon release.
what, you don't like the sound of scribbling in a notebook when slashing your gunblade? i also can't stand the rubber balloon sound of bard pulling the bow string >.<

GNB sounds really bad
I still don't get what people are talking about in terms of GNB sounds. Sounds absolutely fine to me.
They'll nail them, then ruin them like gnb's, fell cleave, broil, etc, many such cases.
My best guess on sound effects for scythe attacks would be something similar to the sound used in FFXI. Many of them sound fairly similar to me though there are exceptions like with Katana for SAM in FFXIV and Great Katana in FFXI.
I am hoping, reaver is going to be a mix of black mage with black knight. I want to
1) BIG BOI DAMAGE
2) BIG BOI aoe
3) self sustain - selfish class
4) Being evil or anti hero
5) to be close range magic class- unlike red mage
6) more then 3 button rotation
They are fine. It could’ve been better though.
I got curious one time to look up for the old SFX at youtube. What I noticed was there are two distinct sounds that gets the most attention: the sound of our gunblade striking their target & the explosions from cartridges combo. Here’s my personal take:
• Old SFX: Great gunblade sounds. That felt like you really hitting something with your metallic gunblade. Terribad explosions, though. They felt out of place.
• Current SFX: Unsatisfactory gunblade sound. It feels like our gunblade is made out of plastic cardboard we stole somewhere from Toy Story 2. The explosion part do make up for it though, it’s improved.
Personally I’d very much prefer to get the old gunblade sound while keeping the juicy explosion SFX we have right now. That’d be perfect.
The new GNB sound effects sounds like a club to me, not a sword :/.
I don't rly understand what the issue was before it was really surprising to me when they changed them.

1) Sure
2) Sure
3) Probably won't happen because some people already complain that SAM is too strong. But could be.
4) I don't know why a job which lore is about angry farmers should be evil or anti hero...rather the opposite.
5) There was no magic shown in the reveal trailer at all, so I wouldn't count on it.
+ the close range magic class is basically Ninja.
+ that would mean Zenos would cast spells, which wouldn't make sense
6) So same as DRG, which it shares gear with? Not really original... :p
Back on topic, the problem with sound effect for GNB is not how it sounds. It is the fact that they changed it.
As soon as you change something, you will have people who prefer the old, and people who prefer the new.
So as long as they stick with what they release at launch, all good.
