Can Xaela characters PLEASE have different standing/walking animations?

Particularly for Males, the Au Ra have a very "prim and proper" standing and walking animation. I feel like that perfectly suits the Raen, however the Xaela are conveyed as culturally being VERY different.

In fact, I feel like this is even seen in their OTHER animations. Cheer, for example, shows a much more wild-looking side of their personality. So having them adopt this proper, uptight stand while standing just feels strange and awkward for them.

Not that they need to be hunched-over and hulking or anything, but just more... relaxed. Same of their standard walking animation.

For Females... well, I'd personally just like to see them made a little more aggressive-looking in general. I also feel like the Xaela of both genders should sport small but distinct canines, just to look a little more "savage".

I know the Xaela have been around a long time now, but... well, I felt like these were changes worth making from the very start, and I'd still welcome them with open arms. Like I said, it just feels weird for the Xaela to look so prim and proper, a more relaxed stance would FAR better match their overall personality, I think.

If anything something similar to cpose that changes stuff like walking, idle, and weapon idle could be added but it'd be a big undertaking.

Ye, I absolutely hate the male au ra walk. So...stiff feeling. The run is...eh, but that walk is something else.

I've honestly gotten used to the male animations at this point.. Their run/sprint is 100% goofy as hell lol. I do agree that at least female Xaela should have had different animations given their culture and all that...

Weapon idles and animations are universal barring a few exceptions (Roe/Hrothgar WAR has a different stance), so they wouldn't really need to change anything about those.

Dude I'd kill to have Xaela look more aggressive, sadly I doubt we'll ever get such changes but it can't hurt to dream.

I don't think they'd alter it now and change it for people who like their characters the way they are, but it's definitely something that should have happened at the start.

They're going in the direction of making things more rather than less similar though, with the recently added races just importing half of an existing model's animations.

But maybe one day, if they ever get out of the hole they dug themselves into with their spaghetti code, and figure out the server issues on top of that, we might see something akin to how PSO2 allows players to obtain (either via purchasegacha, or through in-game events and player shops) different animations to apply to their characters various modes of action (standing, idling, walking, running, dashing, jumping, landing, gliding, swimming...).

I doubt they'll give us this just like they won't change the hrothgars so they dont have a back problem.

I agree though, it would be nice for us to have different animations or rather, being able to choose some. Especially Xaela females, those genki girl animations really dont match.

I'd like to have the option for more aggressive stances/animations across the board - not just for Xaela. Raen may have left the Steppe long ago but they're still well known for their strength and martial prowess.

The option for more bulk/muscle definition for both Raen and Xaela would also be appreciated. I wish we'd get an expansion of character customisation across the board.

See, the running animation I'm good with (since they're so tall, it makes sense it would be a little exaggerated), the sprinting animation honestly looks great, imo.

It would definitely be a bit strange for such a change to come so late, but like I said, I just think it would suit them a lot more. And honestly, I'm not even suggesting some SUPER savage-looking replacement; just a little more "relaxed".

Male and Female have different ones and they'd work well swapped.

Yeah I mean the weapon idle, not how they hold the thing. I think their /bpose and /vpose are actually different too

Honestly, was just thinking about this again today, and MAN would I really like those animations adjusted.

To me, the Xaela just give off this "civilized barbarian" sort of vibe, but having their standing and walking animations be SO rigid, it just kind of feels inconsistent. Whereas when you look at their Cheer and Rally animations, you really feel like these guys are a little more wild, the whole "prim and proper" standing animation, and "elegant, measured pacing" of their walking animation just comes off as "wrong".

Just loosen their stance up a bit, make them look a little more casual when standing, and the same for walking, maybe give them a little more "swagger".

It's been several months since I first posted this, but honestly having started playing the game pretty heavy again, it really does kind of bother me about the Xaela, those standing and walking animations. At least the walking animation, you see it SO rarely, it isn't the end of the world. But the STANDING animations, yeah they're honestly just WAY too "uptight". Not only for who the Xaela are in the STORY, but also simply looking at ANY OF THEIR OTHER ANIMATIONS!!!

Seriously, all of their other animations make them seem very loose and casual. But for some reason, whenever they're just standing still, they look like they morph into entirely different people.

+1 to this; I absolutely loathe the walking animation, and default standing pose. Thank god you can change the standing pose, but you can't change the walking animation.

They also have a unique DRG stance. The Hrothgars also have their hunch added to WHM and SAM's stances. (SMN and AST too if I remember correctly.)

Maybe the fact that they only have like 2.5 faces to choose from too, while they're at it... but I don't expect either of those things to be addressed in the 7.0 graphical overhaul because 1) it's too much work 2) runs the risk of alienating the players who use (or prefer) the current faces/animations. Unfortunately this goes for Au Ra as well.

Wouldn't mind being proved wrong though...!

Atm, the only way to "solve" this is against Yoship's will, but from what I've seen, can be worth it.

Honestly I'd love for the Xaela to look a bit more aggressive or wilder than they currently are. But you're asking for further race customization\exclusivity.

You look at my race. Do you really think Square would ever lift a finger to touch yours? Best they can do is awkward clipping on your horns, mate.

I kinda find the crash bandicoot run endearing, but I'd support a change if it's what people who actually play the race want.
Also holy crap I never thought about it until reading OP's post, but it is weird that Raen and Xaela have the same animations despite basically being from different worlds culturally speaking. It makes sense that they should have separate ways of reacting to their experiences. I want this now.
I also want more tail movement in our animations.

I'm actually pretty okay with the running animation -- given HOW tall the male Au Ra are, I think it's just kind of a necessary evil -- but I'd certainly welcome any improvement there.

Mostly the standing animation, though, followed closely by the walking animation. Those two just DO NOT jibe with the rest of their animations and personality.

We should be able to fully customize our characters move set. Just steal the Personalities template ESO uses!

If we have a "Drunk" personality, will we walk like Captain Jack Sparrow?

I dunno about male Au'ra's walk but their running looks strange to me.

Female Au'ra tho has some of the best animations in the game imo, they feel really fluid.

Like I said, they just seem a little too "uptight", compared to the REST of their animations.
