Wish we could get the FFVI event again...

... or just have that content in the game permanently.

I was watching the Ghost Train fight earlier on Youtube, and it just looked really, really cool. FFVI will always be my favorite Final Fantasy (beating out FFT by just a nose), and I unabashedly love trains, so that encounter is something I'd like to experience at least once (and, preferably, many times).

I mean, I get having 'events' and special limited-time stuff, but when you're talking about actual raids - the real, substantial 'meat' of FFXIV - it would be good to keep it accessible. I think Yoshi-P has even said himself that he doesn't expect people to always be subscribed or active - and I (and I am not alone in this) happened to be one of those people who wasn't here when the FFVI event was active.

There was no ffvi event.

The phantom train is still in the game, as is the magitech armor, ultros, Kefka, etc...

It's Sigmascape raids from omega...

You must be confused or meme'ing. There was no FFVI event, the phantom train is part of an existing SB raid and can be experienced to this day.

Yeah, you need to do the Omega 8 player raids that were introduced in Stormblood. I think it was the second tier of them that used bosses from FFVI but not 100% sure on it. Been awhile since I did them.

Oh that's still in the game. You need to do the Alpha/Omegascape raids in Stormblood. They're rather fun, the story is good, and you should be able to get into them fairly easily.

I don't know whether to laugh or to head desk. You've been so busy making threads hating on Ivalice that you didn't do Omega...

You can meet Siegfried in the ghost cars sometimes, too.

Siegfriend Ghost Car Phantom Train Sigmascape 1.0

Chardarnook is 2.0. Guardian is 3.0 (Comes packaged with Ultros and Dadaluma). Kefka is 4.0. God Kefka is in Savage, and is required to be beaten to unlock Ultima Weapon Ultimate.

I imagine there are people who didn't play for the past expansions and just trying to get to Shadowbringers as soon as possible, not knowing about most of the content in the game.

To be fair it’s old raid content that wasn’t required for anything except maybe be part of the Wonderous Tails, and sidequests give poor rewards other than Aether Currents.

Would be nice if the quest intros tell you what it’ll unlock instead of just “Urianger can’t stop thinking about....cheese.”

Universally, blue+ quests unlock something. If someone somehow gets all the way to the end of the game without realizing the correlation, I don't know what to say.

If you’re trying to get through the MSQ you’re not exactly looking to prolong that experience, especially for stuff that’s years outdated.

You know, given that endwalker is all moon, we probably won't get that THIS expansion from Hildabrand, but I could absolutely see the Gentleman Detective insisting on being the one at risk, in the dress...

It's also the lowest level raid series in the roulette since Coil isn't, so on average more people will have it unlocked.

Didn't the devs strongly advise to do the Omega raids before Endwalker?

As someone who didn't clear Crystal Tower before starting Shadowbringers (it wasn't mandatory yet), I'm telling you, go do it, right now.

Ah, the good old days of early editions of D&D where you could do stuff like solve all life's problems as a druid by summoning a blue whale... Though I did have some characters back then get veto'd by the DM just because he couldn't carry all the reference books needed for it... >.>;
