The resistance field notes collection, are they too much?

After 200+ hours of grinding the field notes I finally got my Ai-iklil bike and for anyone who knows me; anything that's related to FF12 is a MUST HAVE.

But I keep thinking to myself, do the drop rates need to be increased? I have my bike, but some people might not be as willing to camp a fate for 8-12 hours a day to obtain one field note... (#14 springs to mind) And what does this mean when the resistance becomes as they call it 'dead content' - wouldn't it be harder for players to obtain the already-a-nuisance-to-get mount?

Does anyone have any stories about collecting the field notes? Do you think the drop rates should to be increased? What field note do you absolutely detest because of the insanely low drop rate?

Nearly all of the field notes with an insanely low drop rate have a 100% drop rate alternative with the 1v1 duels.
Personally, I don't see an issue of it being a long grind, when there's a skill based option.

Bozja becoming less active probably won't be too big of a deal, since most of the field instances scale with the amount of players in them. Besides, less players would also make it easier to get into the duels.

Pretty much all of this. The bike took a bit regardless, but I'm fine with grinds existing.

But that's the problem it's not skill based, it's luck based whether you get choses for the 1v1 duels.

Me and my friend went to Bozja and Zadnor off and on to do our weekly Dalriada etc collect the field notes.
While we were waiting we'd pop and do the fates we still needed.
It took us a while, but we eventually both got the mount.
It just takes some time, but if you do it in a healthy way(not 8 hours a day)its really not that bad.

I still need Sartauvoir and Lyon and tbh I'm pretty burnt out on the content. I've been at both for well over a month and I've clear Castrum well over 60 times and I can't even count how many times I've done Of Steel and Flame but nothing. I don't mind a grind but these two are a bit much imo especially how long Castrum takes and how long the spawn rate is on FAF and haven't been able to get into a single duel unfortunately so that makes it more painful lol. Would be nice if you could exchange coins for them I mean at this point I'm just throwing stacks of them away I've gotten so many.

Its too rare... ive given up. you cant be everywhere at once, i cant make sure to not fall asleep during the week after long hours of work.... sry but there needs to be another option then "maybe you get a duell and maybe you even win that"...

its not about being lazy but idk... i just cant go onto this god dammed ship anymore... yet i still need all 3 notes from there..

I really felt like I was on the struggle bus trying to get all of them but after talking to people in game and seeing stories on here about how many tries it took for some people to get certain notes I think I was pretty lucky overall, it just felt like a long time because of the respawn timer on some of them (looking at you Sartauvoir).

You'd have a point if SE hadn't added the notoriety system.

Besides, that still doesn't mean that it's not the skill based option. It takes skill to meet the requirements to get picked, and to be able to clear the fight.

Meanwhile, it doesn't take much skill to clear skirmishes, and the fail rate of CEs is generally quite low.

So this previous thread a couple weeks back contains 33(!!!) pages of people complaining about the low drop rate of the 5* notes whilst giving xyz excuse about why they won't do the duels.

Bottom line is if you really want all the notes either a) grind the fates and pray to your prefered rng god or b) spend half that time learning (flare star cheese says hi) and completing all the duels

As someone who has done Bozja a ton, now - like probably way more than most people - and who isn't collecting the notes (or going out of the way to collect them): yes, it's absolutely absurd. The mount isn't that special, and yet it is locked behind this multi-layered, hellish RNG, which itself is set within two of the worst zones in the game. There's no good reason for it to be this way, other than to artificially force players to loiter in Zadnor and the BSF hoping that certain FATEs and CEs spawn, long after these poor souls have completed every single other meaningful (or reasonable) goal therein. It's insanity, and it's frankly insulting.
