Please make Automaton Queen focus your target

Normally it's not an issue because having it hit anything helps, but in fights like 724P-operated Superior Flight Unit in The Puppets' Bunker where each alliance can only fight their own flight unit, I often find my Queen just rocketing off towards a different alliance's unit. And because it's an extension of me, it can't deal damage to them.

It happens at least 2/3 of the time, and it makes using Automaton Queen during that fight feel like a total waste of resources. :(

AQ is a glorified dot that has many problems and you mentionned one of them.
I'm still baffled how SQEX could approve AQ and Esteem, on top of Bahamut weird AI.
They should prioritize fun before look, because AQ can be frustrating.

A simple fix would be to, as you suggest, make the AQ target what you are targeting.

Can't wait for the gundam mode where your character gets locked into a 5 second animation to spam 1 for 10 seconds.

I'm quite fine with hitting a button to summon it and continuing to play normally. Considering it's an upgrade to the turret I don't see any reason to over-complicate it. I think MCH is fine as it is except with the issue I brought up with this topic.

Actually, AQ has more issues than that. It’s lengthy summoning time, the complete lack of targeting control, and it’s lack of AoE make it an underwhelming tool. I get it - you like that’s it’s “fix-it-and-forget-it,” but for my part, it needs more than just a targeting tweak.

here hoping for gundman suit too , queen is boring

or make the queen more interesting , make it spawn faster too , maybe come from the sky "startdiver" style doing some dmg on the target

Queen, like MCH as a whole, is just some glint and glamour fooling the player into thinking they did somthing cool but they just pressed A. No thought ,no interaction, no fun.

MCH in general suffers from this. It’s pretty but it’s incredibly dense perhaps the simplest and densest job in the game and next to RDM and DNC? That’s saying alot

Honestly. Everything in this game is just that. it is a game with no inherent meaning after all.

The summon duration for AQ (and Esteem) are to account for the lengthy animations they have when being summoned. I believe they both take 5 seconds to fully summon, so their effective actual summon duration is 15 seconds, rather than 20.

No...?
Automaton Queen and Esteem are the only buttons "press and forget".
Or Delirium is "Press this same button for 10 seconds." Wildfire is also a button pressed and that you forget because you resume your rotation without changes.

Something interactive would be Phoenix summon that attacks with you and you order around, same for Seraph.
Or Continuation combo, it's fast buttons to press. HW and SB wildfire combo were also fun to execute.

The AoE should be basic to AQ, don't introduce a new automaton specialized in AoE. You will use it in very limited content for the same result while the old problems remains.
Gundam suit should be limited to G-Warrior or pvp mechs. There is no way they can introduce a gundam and make it fun.

Plus, IMO, it would be completely out of character for Machinists, supposed to use tools and guns. The automaton is already above the line of what MCHs used to be.
If you want a gundam suit, it's better to wait for a content that includes a gundam suit and makes it a focus..

That’s precisely my point - a five second summon animation makes AQ difficult to plan around in any meaningful way. Try lining it up with AST/DNC buffs, or Chain Strat…and if you don’t pop it right away after charging your battery gauge, it’s a DPS loss (that could have been much more useful paired with other buffs).

So I reiterate, MCH needs a faster summon animation, more flexibility over when we can use AQ, and more control over the actions it takes, OR inherent AoE viability for it.

Or just give me my Gundam.

Yeah im surprised this wasnt a thing, I vaguely remember old turrets attacking whatever you used your combo on, not sure why they didn't keep that for queen.
