Introduction:
We are a fairly new small/mid size Free Company that was created in 2021 that are looking to increase our numbers with new and old players.
Who are we:
We are a group of friends from different communities that have banded together to play together. We are friendly people that just like to hang out, play the game and enjoy ourselves with what we are doing. We respect people also have a life outside the game, but for longer periodes of down time we would like to know.
Events:
We have 1-3 events a week.- Maps
- Palace of the Dead/Heaven on High
- Possibly trials/raids
- Alt Job leveling
Background Story:
It was the aftermath of the Seventh Umbral Calamity, naught but ash and ruins remained for what once was the lives of the people of Eorzia. Homes, friends, family, memories; all undone beneath that darken, flame scared sky.
On the edge of the Carteneau Flats, in the aftermath of the great dragon Bahamut's rancour, rested a small group of soldiers and mercenaries, panic etched into all their expressions, exhausted from fleeing the battlefield upon the dragons awakening on a small plateau.
In this brief respite, with thoughts stretched out and contemplating what had transpired, all turned to grief. The devastation, the unbridled fury that befell the land around them, their fallen comrades, their homes off in the amber veiled skies around them.
"What.... what is even left out there?!?", the pleas of one of the younger men broke the stale silence that had entrapped the survivors, all blinking themselves back from their long far off thoughts. None gave an answer, unsure themselves of what could be remaining off the battlefield.
The heavy crunch of footfall on the rocky surface snapped the group away from their brooding silence. A tall man, clad head to toe in plate mail, banged, dented and scorched from the battle but only moments ago. The man showed no signs of fatigue thou from the battle or from escaping the calamity, he stood resolute as he come across the survivors.
"Tomorrow", the man said, with a calm tranquil air about him, "What lies in wait for you across that horizon, for all of us here, is tomorrow.". The man took a few more steps into the encirclement of the exhausted group, looking up at this figure with grief still fresh in their expressions.
"Naught lies here but ash, man! Our comrades lie not on ground but mounds of ash'd remains of our fallen! What possible hope is there beyond the morrow!?!", a voice rises up from the group in anger. The armour clad figure, thou, never raises his voice to meet this outspoken rage aimed at him, he but slowly walks out to the edge of the group looking off into the distance.
"Aye, we have lost. We know not yet how the cities have faired, if they even remain at all; but what does lie in wait for us is our path forward!" The man turned back to the group, their expressions lifting slightly at the figure, his banged up armour shinning faintly in the warm glow of the parting horizon, breaking in and through the fiery hue.
"We lost souls, adrift now in a land scorched from turmoil and war, have been given a chance to see the morrow! Breath still fills our lungs and our hands may yet still grip the reins of our fate! let our lost, wandering souls venture off and forge anew!" I says as he takes a step forward to the group, raising an arm and placing it against his chest.
a quite pause hangs over the rocky plateau, thoughts racing anew in the minds of the survivors, visions of the past clashing with the plausible futures now laid before them. Confusion lingered till that too was broken by a small chuckle, a large soldier stands himself up and dusts himself
"Forging on after all of this with but a few wandering men and women will be no easy feat mind you, but a chance to free ourselves from this nightmare of a battle.....that I'd happy work towards."
The armoured man lowered his arm and gave a small chuckle "Yes, that would be a goal worth striving for. Mayhaps one day, our lost and tired bodies may find peace.....and we may move forward, with our free souls"
As this band of survivors left that decollate plateau, these men and women from all walks of life and creeds, they cast their eyes towards the future, leaving the burning wreckage of that battlefield to be not but a forgotten memory, one to be drowned out in the chorus of laughter and singing that the new day shall bring. Many ventured on, striking out to make new, humble lives for themselves, while many followed in the footsteps of Xaven, the armoured man who lifted them from their sorrows, to form a company of heroes that may help others, lift the downtrodden and lonely souls that wonder Eoriza, bringing them all together, dubbing themselves with their new found freedom and purpose, "The Free Souls"
