Feast 20 mount

So, it isn't Cruise Chaser mount, but a Dreadnought. One of my wished mounts from one of my suggestions. I'd wish it has the "March of the Dreadnoughts" theme from FFXIII.

Bad thing is... I'm not very good at PvP, much less in Feast... So I really doubt I could go to Top 100. :( (and if I go and lose, I know everyone would start to mock and insult me, wouldn't the first time).

Yes, one more cool mount consigned to the black hole that is feast top 100 rewards. It will be a sticking point with the game until they dismantle the mode entirely, which is soon. Hopefully Endwalker's PvP reward structure does not require any more eternal blood sacrifices

From the way i see it, the entire Feast ladder is filled with Elo boosting Groups of People that always queue in at the early/late Hours where Queues are completely dead to secure themselves (as well as their alts btw) a place within the ladder.

I will not call any names here, but if youre curious about this kind of stuff, all you have to do is monitor certain individuals who get a suprisingly high winning streak every day on the rankings ( like +275 elo daily).

Just one question (if I decide to "try it"). ¿Do I need to be in a PvP team to enter the Feast? ¿Or can I queue by my own like in Frontline/Rival Wings?

I do not know how EU Light works with Feast but I love this mount, I am not sure if I want to try going for top 100 though...

There's someone selling pvp in party finder every day. I don't know what that means thought.

A friend managed to get to top 100 during Season 19.
He had a lot of free time and didn't bought anything, when PVP was up he'd get in. He was almost always on queue, ready to wait for 3 hours if it was needed.

He barely made it despite his time investment. Imagine you put that much time in it and you don't get the rewards.

Rewards distribution is unhealthy and they need to allow more players to get the rewards. I understand that the goal is to make PVP attractive through amazing rewards but it has a toxic effect. Players become easily agressives and tools/buy are encouraged to secure a spot.

Well, the good news is it isn't the Cruise Chaser. Bad news is it's a mount that I'll never see anyone but two people on.

Slightly confused why they decided to have a Feast season in the first place while a lot are taking small breaks from XIV before Endwalker and while there's no shortage of reports of cheating before they do away with it in EW.

I would like to see pvp leaderboard changed first. Honestly for the low tier stuff it should be something generally farmable for everyone, in so much there is no rank to kick each other out. Maybe the amount of tokens you earn is boosted based on both how many wins you have and how long the season has gone on (so if you join late it's not awful, but if you played the whole time and did well then you're swimming). Then the top rewards could be something akin to a tournament, maybe best of three - probably won't draw huge crowds but you could twitch stream them and have some commentary. Something cool for being x of the top, something that is not farmable and is skill based (although a bit based on your able to meet the schedule which is unfortunate, but that is what it is..).

Seasonal tokens maybe being able to purchase a cycling and growing list of all the seasons (minus tournament), meaning one year might be current season and first season, another maybe current and third, etc. Maybe tournament will also be cycling, in its own category, but you can only choose one of those growing rewards.

Don't worry.
Feast is not about skill nowadays.
As long as you have basic PvP ideas, all you need to do nowadays is just que it non stop 24 hous a day 7 days a week in first 2 weeks and you are likely to get to bottom of Top 100.
If you spam like this, you also may get on the winning train when those win traders are doing their shady thing.

During Season 18, i did a total of 677 Games and only managed to reach gold rank and halfway into the next Rank until Queues died for good.

Yeah… no hate at people who do Feast by any means, but I always wonder why not just do exclusive reskins of existing mounts, or alternatively release a grind-related one alongside the feast one with the same body but different skins. That way people can get their dreadnought and feast peeps can have a gold pimped out dreadnought.

Kinda like the Gabriel mechs in Bozja have a easy-cheap one and a fancy rarer one.

The rewards aren't a Problem by themselves, it is the means of obtaining them. The Wintrading is going on for way too long and Squeenix doesn't even dare looking towards PvP content, they even ditched all the Questions about it during the liveletter where they were reading out letters from players with one ingame question.

I tried 2 matches with random and while I can see the appeal (honestly both matches were a steamroll 1 loss and victory simple because I had a teammate calling which player to focus hard) I might not go too much in it, especially if people are going to win trade etc.

I spent a lot of time with Firmament to get the title and managed to secure a decent spot but I feel Feast is another kind of game, maybe I can use it for tome farming but still...

If the things were just time gated for a while I don't think anybody would care. I mean that's basically what they do with raid mounts except they're always unlimited technically.

Was just thinking the other day I’d love a Dreadnaught mount. Gutted to see that I won’t ever get one now. Oh well.

What happend to me with Hellhounds.
My reaction at them on Void Ark: "Oh my, these are so cool, i hope they become a mount one day."

Surely they did.

FFXIV's PvP is, quite simply, infuriating. It has nothing to do with individual skill; the classes are massively, almost insanely imbalanced; the maps are horrific; the rewards are generally amazing (and seemingly placed in such a position singularly to taunt/infuriate the 99.9% of the playerbase that doesn't participate in The Feast seasons [a significant portion of whom probably would invest time and effort of the experience itself wasn't so inherently fubar'd]).

Honestly, it's the worst part of the FFXIV, and it isn't even close. PvP should either be revamped or removed entirely - the kind of mincing, half-hearted, flaccid experience provided currently is an insult to MMO PvP in other games (which isn't by any means amazing stuff... it's just worlds better than what we have here).

I would just entirely scrap The Feast and Rival Wings.
Unify their achivements, glamours and everything onto a more developed Wolf Mark economy.
And generate more interesting, or even revisit and enhance the existing Frontlines.


Instead we are getting a FOURTH PvP mode to fracture the PvP experience even more.

Ranking issues aside and to be fair, Feast itself would work really well IF Jobs were properly designed for PvP.

As TeraRamis stated already, PvP skills are very basic in nature and the only thing that matters, is raw dmg since this is all we can work with here (ironically, most of the current PvP skills in their current design, would make a great addition to PvE).

It should be given to everyone in silver / gold and above.
You know, like in any other game

Wintraders is why I don't even bother. Good luck ever getting to top 100 if you're not in their secret club, or if you don't pay to be in it.

Small scale arena will never works in MMORPG, the jobs can never been balanced
Arena may works for the combat system used by Teras Online where player control skill is the main determine factor.
WoW arena is always a esport wannabe and FF14 Feast is at edge of dying

PvP isn't about balance, on the contrary, it is about classes being as diverse and unbalanced from one another as it is possible, if you want to have a good designed PvP enviroment (one that allows alot of possibilities combatwise).

Balance is something our CURRENT PvP has. Healers can just heal, Tanks can just Tank and anyone else is loaded with raw dmg skills, one (1) CC and PvE utilities. And to make matters worse, everyone gets freaking self refilling HP potions that unnecessarily stall for time. This is as balanced as PvP can probably get, with "Teamplay" being its ONLY focus, at the cost of everything else. It isnt fun, but anyone stands on equal footing no matter how experienced your opponent is.

Time invested should be rewarded above all else as far as I'm concerned. If that were the case, you'd see queues pop much more frequently.
