Bring Back Garo Items

With all the new influx in this game now, there's no better time than ever to bring back stuff for the new people or those like me who got screwed out of it the first time.

Or do the GARO people not like money?

Obviously by not having played at the time.

I think it's a good idea for them to bring it back, but unlike the other stuff you can't obtain any more (past event titles, feast mounts and glamour) this is probably the one thing they can't due to licensing issues instead of just won't, which stinks.

While I'd be all for it, and other crossover event items, coming back, it's not like say the FF XV crossover where they can just do it whenever they want. Garo isn't owned be SE and they can't just do it whenever they want. And the other company may not be interested in doing it now, I think the show it was promoting ran its course? Not sure on that.

They didn't elaborate at all. Not playing during a 2 year long event isn't getting screwed out of anything. They simply didn't play during the timeframe.

I wouldn't mind it coming back, there was alot of outfit glams for shorts that I wanted to finish getting, and I love me some good shorts.

If it's possible I don't see why not, I'm strictly not a fan of once and forever gone concepts, coming from someone who has everything from the event- so I've nothing to gain from it coming back.

License issues another already said is probably a high chance why it would be difficult to bring back willy nilly, like we've the Yokai Watch thing a bunch because the dev of that game is all for it "do it again!!!" lol. That said, if it isn't a problem then yeah- :)

I would be all for it if all parties involved worked out a new deal for it. Maybe even make a new weapons for the added classes and a set for GNB since tanks all had unique sets. A Reaper scythe could be really cool looking in the Garo style.

no. i want legacy tattoo . just because i didnt have a pc and could play on ps3 bcs there wasnt any version at that time i was excluded . so NO . there will be again something . im sure YO-KAI will come back again if anything :D ppl will love it.

Assuming there's not any legal issues we're not aware of, I wouldn't mind seeing this come back especially if it allowed all the newer players that never had a shot at it a chance to get the glams and mounts.

I'd also be OK if they added in stuff for the newer classes (like what happened with Yokai Watch).

I 2nd this statement. Give us NEW things. Its understandable that it could be upsetting to those who wernt playing at the time missed out on something they might have wanted, but it was timed content that lasted a VERY long time, like I think a whole expansion: 2 years!
So instead of Garo, why not something new that could revitalize PvP. Something of the same Level as GARO, but not GARO.

Also consider how much a deal like that could cost and take away from future content they could be working on instead.
These things take alot of time and are not cheap.

I'll echo forever: New things are better than old ones.

The Garo items? Make another set of exclusive pvp glamours and mounts. People want the legacy tattoo? Why not spruce up the subscription rewards with tattoos based on the expansion.

The line was toed with replacing the 1.0 beast tribe mounts with one slightly different, which is fine with me. Those original mounts and items have a "I was there when it happened, and this telegraphs to people" allure. Those items are few and far between in FFXIV, and the few that exist should maintain that appeal.

FFXIV is at it's peak popularity right now. If anything other companies should be getting on their knees and begging Yoshi-P to promote them. Like 99% of the playerbase did not know what "Gahr-oh" was before it was promoted in the game.

Well apparently there were people who still didn't since they missed a 2 year promotion. ^^
And no, I am not talking about people who didn't play at that time.
I am talking about people who were playing but for some reason was "screwed out" of it for some reason during 2 years.

While it would be nice to see, anything not owned by Square Enix is all about License and such when it comes to events in game like that

It's not like getting Garo greenlit again will do anything to interfere or sidetrack the development of new content.

Its likely they straight up cant due to contracts with the collab'ing company. They'll pretty much need to set up a new one and have them ok bringing back those old items/events while possibly adding a new one of some sort. However because of covid dont expect any collabs other than those properties SE already owns/works with for a very very very long while...

Yes. Licensing asside, the content is already done and would not hinder the development of new stuff.

As they did with the Yokai Watch, it would be awesome to update the event with weapons for the new jobs that came after the event.

For the series fans, having one set of properly Makai armor free for all jobs would be great too.

Part of the issue i I think the Garo show is over, where as yokai watch is an ongoing series. The owners of Garo may not be as interested in working on another collab if the franchise doesn't need promoting anymore.

If SE has to pay money for this deal, it's also likely not worth spending it on that versus investing in new collabs or other content. Though we don't know what the actual deal was behind the scenes, or what the new deal would be if they renegotiated now.

It'd be nice to have. I wish it was a permanant crossover like monster hunter. But I don't think it's likely to happen. If they could have kept it going indefinitely they probably would have.

Perhaps if there's a new Garo series coming out, they can refresh the event and bring it back then?

I did all the grinding to get my Makai Master title. It's a title I wear with pride since it's pretty rare. That said, I wouldn't be upset if this event came back in some form or another, since the glamour items are pretty awesome and it's okay to share those with others. I mean, even if they did bring it back, people would still have to grind like mad.

I have all the GARO items and think it would be nice for a way to get everything when it comes to old items. As collector myself I understand wanting a way to get them and think even 1.0 items should have a way too obtain them as well.

I am torn Garo event at the height and tale end were riddled with bots or afkers though not sure if that is a justifiable reason to not bring such an incentive.

Though maybe the new PvP mode will breath some life into the mode.

Well I mean they didn't really have to their join date is October 2019 the same month the garo event ended. We all get screw by this time gated artificial scarcity situations. I guess some fill up with tremendous amount of epeen because they played during x time to x time. Them putting stuff in the game then removing it. Why make the assests for the game then remove them. Having some people earn content through game then having them buy it on the store later. Seasonal events not having the same rewards plus new ones every year. PVP mounts being one season. Time gated exclusivity, goes against yoshi own words but yet he still doesn't follow through. Take a break, the game will be here when you get back, oh well rip you took a break during x and x so now you missed out on this. Its the worst kind of exclusivity. You want a legacy chocobo, a tattoo on your back, a original gobbue feel free. I dont feel better that i have it and they dont. Let them have it to. Keep shit in the game. It honestly amazes me, i know that SE is not the worse at this type of stuff, but for this to even be acceptable to people in this day in age is just insane. I guess i am getting too old.

Maybe grab the rest of the accessories and weapons since it looks like they aren't on the calamity salvager. Unless I... somehow missed them entirely. It's been a while since I looked but I don't remember them being there.

Weapons are there (but you had to unlock them seperatly for each job, so if you've unlocked the healer outfit on your scholar and got the achievement, you can buy the healer-gear and the scholar-book, but not the WHM-staff, even though you can glamour the gear onto your WHM aswell).
Accessories are indeed missing. The PLD shield is missing aswell (no pun intended) - but that can be replaced by an invisible shield from the Gold Saucer.

Just like how people couldn't read that the previous moogle tome event was time-limited and had a hard cutoff. Someone couldn't read the two warnings they gave that Garo offer was to be removed permanently from the game if you hadn't attained the gear at the time.

I'm curious, let's say they did bring back the Garo event (which we all know isn't going to happen, but hey, for the sake of argument...), given your previous threads on this, what makes you think you'd even be capable of getting the items? The mounts would still require PVP wins after all.

As someone who earned every Garo reward? Sure.

I'd like to see it return because it breathed fresh life into PvP and allowed for near instant queues in Feast which hasn't happened for quite some time now.

I guess it just depends on whether there's the legal capability to run the promotion again or whether it was a one time only affair.

Slightly unrelated but is anyone else a bit chuffed that the frontlines vendor only got 1 set of PVP armor this expac (late allagan) instead of 2 like HW and SB? I know covid was a pretty big deal and all, but it would of been nice if a 2nd set was made available.

Be nice if they did then might try out pvp. If not I wish they bring out another event like they did for garo.
