BLM Animus Relic Weapon?

So getting my relic weapon is quite an arduous task. All those FATEs to get the atma items, but I got through it an upgraded my Stardust Rod (BLM). Cool effect, nice glamor. So I start the next series to get it upgraded to an Animus Zodiac weapon. Took quite a while and involved a lot of work on my part. The final step is to go to Jalzahn who is supposed to upgrade it. All he tells me is that I can NOT get the next step (for the Novus relic) because I need the Animus. He offer the first and second stages (Zodiak & ATMA which I already have).

Did I somehow miss something? I DO recall that I never got an actual quest in my log (Trails of the Brave) but was "told" by Jalzahn to go to Rowena, who send me to her NPC to get each book in turn. My quest log shows that COMPLETED. The NPC giving me each book in succession SAYS I am done and to go to Jalzahn who will upgrade it.

Except he will not. Negating literally weeks of work to get to that point. AND totally shutting me off the from 2 more stages in this line.

Is this a known issue and WILL they fix it (I put in a ticket)? Far as I can tell, even if there is an underlying issue, just send me the item and I am whole and can continue playing. I mean it's not like I didn't get that one drop I wanted after running some dungeon a dozen times...

What do I tell the bunch of friends I convinced to come play this wonderful game? That they can bust their asses and end up with nothing?

As far as I know, Atma used to be a lot worse and it will be a fraction of what it used to be.

I assume you completed all of the books from G'jusana in Mor Dhona.

It says "once all nine books have been completed; return to Jalzahn along with your unequipped Atma Zodiac Weapon and you will be rewarded your Animus Zodiac Weapon."

Just to make sure you are aware, you don't need to complete a relic weapon. They are optional. You quickly get a better weapon at higher levels and the relic weapon for each expansion is an entirely separate questline. Even the one for a current expansion isn't the best item level until near the end of the expansion, so it's mostly just for glamour with those glows and effects.

ANYWAY, I got the same kind of message you wrote... except that is NOT what G'jusana said... that was the image I was trying to post. Says:

"You have already completed all the trials for the equipped relic weapon atma. Make your way to Hyrstmill, and present it to Halzahn."

I did exactly what the game told me to do. Went reading some third party sites, ohhhh, has to be unequipped. So I tried that. Still no good. Tried re-logging. STILL no good. However, you bet your donuts I NEED to get this after I spent a ton of time doing what the game had me do to get it. I have the Exarchic rod, I want it to LOOK like the power that is in that weapon.

I recall having trouble with it as well years ago. There will be some technical reason for it like, like needing to talk to someone else. I solved it somehow and I think I may have been confused over who I was actually talking to.

For any weapon upgrade quest you always need the item in your inventory and not equipped. For most of them, you also need to be on the class in question.

Here is the deal, I was so excited to get my upgrade after pouring so much work and effort into earning it, I forgot about the "being unequipped." In point of fact, for the previous atma upgrade I could not at first get that one done either. Hit third party sites where I learned it had to be unequipped (clearly the issue there is incorrect text in the game which makes no mention of that). Unequipped it and boom, NOW I got my atma upgrade. Not so with the animus upgrade. AND to add insult to injury, Jalzahn is colored red for me... because I can NOT take the next quest for the Novus upgrade because I do not have an animus level weapon.

Now I know a friend of mine had gotten stuck on the MSQ, I think she had completed the previous quest but could not take the next one. Kinda exactly the same thing here. They DID fix it for her.

Not sure about whom to talk to... suppose I could hit up Rowena who pointed me to G'jusana in the first place.. but the text clearly led me directly to Jalzahn.

Pretty sure that was the first one I tried, but it didn't work for some reason. Found another image hosting site (imgbb.com) and THEIR direct link worked as expected.

So if you click "Relic Weapon Atma Enhancement", what happens?

Its been a minute, but i think Jeeq has it. You have at Atma that needs to be enhanced, right? Then atma enhancement should be right.

Apparently I am an IDIOT! I could SWEAR that I tried that option and got the text about MAKING the ATMA version... perhaps that was when I HAD it equipped. Then each time I saw it, I assumed it was the previous step of making it INTO an ATMA weapon. Bingo I now HAVE my hard fought Animus Relic and took the quest to make it into the Novus version.

Thanks so much for hanging in there with me (I WAS getting cranky)... now I see it was the images that brought me a resolution... so the time spent getting that together was way worth it.

The whole process could be a lot more straightforward, so i wouldnt say you were an idiot. I have my BLM Zeta, but i dont remember how long i spent on any given step or where i had to stop and figure things out. This is why we ask questions. Have fun with the next step!
